University Consortium of Seinäjoki

• The University Consortium of Seinäjoki (UCS) is a multidisciplinary scientific community of some 100 people.

• The member universities are the universities of Tampere, Helsinki and Vaasa, the Sibelius Academy and Tampere University of Technology.

• The UCS is co-ordinated by the University of Tampere.

• Operations concentrate on research and development work, which is done mainly in Epanet-network. The education is adult education realised as teaching through the open university, as degree-oriented teaching or continuing education.

• The operations of the UCS combine internationality and local co-operation. The UCS is actively involved in the development work of innovation environments. The objective is the renewal of business life, services and culture through scientific knowledge.

• There are five other university consortiums in Finland: Kajaani, Kokkola, Lahti, Mikkeli and Pori.

• The co-operation platform for Seinäjoki University Consortium and Seinäjoki University for Applied Sciences is the University Consortium of South Ostrobothnia.
