Career Services offers a variety of support for both students just starting to explore their career interests and students graduating and exploring ways to enter the workforce. Students can visit with career advisors and career counselors early in their academic studies to learn more about career choices and options. For students about to enter the workforce, Career Services provides resume and interview assistance and supports many specific and universal career fairs on campus. For students interested in working on-campus, Career Services also serves as the primary resource hub for on-campus employment as well as part-time, full-time, internship and other career opportunities.

Psychology is a behavioral science that focuses on the behavior of people and animals and asks the question, “Why do living organisms do the things they do?” The field of psychology is broad and includes many specialized areas of interest. Completion of a bachelor's degree in psychology will provide a valuable education for the student and will prove beneficial in many career fields. Psychology majors are often sought for employment in business and industry, as well as in the helping professions. At Texas State, a student can pursue either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology. The psychology requirements are the same for either degree; the major differences between the degrees involve science and modern language requirements. Specialization within the field of psychology is best achieved with the completion of a graduate degree. Sample job titles include Behavior Analyst, Corrections Officer, Family Service Worker, Crisis Counselor, Marketing Researcher, and Labor Relations Specialist. Minors offered include Psychology, Forensic Psychology, and Sport Psychology.
