Accommodation
It is available in one of the University’s dormitories (cost: 70–100 EURO per month). Internet access is available in every room. Students live in twin or triple-bedded rooms and have a direct access to a kitchen and shower.
Students have a 50% discount for public transport in Lodz as well as other discounts for entries to a number of pubs, clubs, sport cen-ters, cinemas, museums and other institutions. With a student visa or temporary residence permit students can work legally. Average cost of living in Lodz (per month): about 250 EURO.

The School of Polish for Foreign Students at the UL is very renow-ned, and its leavers are issued referrals to different Polish univer-sities. Courses there are both for absolute beginners, and for those who want to improve their level of the language. They also prepare to different academic subject areas. Full time students (within MA, BA or PhD programs) are also eligi-ble to take part in EU student exchange program called Erasmus+ and have a possibility to spend a semester or a year abroad on full scholarship in one of 30 European countries.
Exchange programmes If the EU is not enough, you can go on exchange to study with a high amount scholarship in Latin American countries or East
European countries (e.g. Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia) within Credit
Mobility Programme or Mizuta Scholarship.
Bilateral exchange Students studying all over the world at partner universities of the University of Lodz are welcomed to take part in a one semester or one year free of char-
ge exchange program in the frame of bilateral agreements. The only
requirement is that the partner uni-versities have a signed agreement.
Pay less or study for freeThose who can study for free (on similar terms
as the locals), include citizens of the EU/EEA countries, holders of the Pole's Card (Karta Polaka), and some other catego-
ries (check our website). Foreigners can also apply for the Polish Government Scholarship
which allows them to study free of charge or with a scholarship.

There are also BA and MA programs taught in English. Lodz, situated 125 km away from Warsaw, is Poland’s third lar-gest city with a population of 720 000. The city is easily accessi-ble from any part of Poland and Europe (airport).
