University of Rochester OFF CAMPUS HOUSING INFORMATION
Off Campus Living:
Living off campus allows students flexibility in choosing the location and type of housing they desire. Many students look forward to being part of a neighborhood where they can immerse themselves in all of Rochester’s cultural and social opportunities.
The Off Campus Living Program, a part of the Office for Residential Life and Housing Services, can advise students about off campus housing options. Individual landlords list rental properties on the Off Campus Connection search site:
www.rochester.edu/reslife/offcampus. Please note that properties listed through Off Campus Connection are not
inspected, approved or regulated by the University.

If you prefer apartment complex living, there are a variety of off-campus apartment complex options available within a close drive to campus. Again, the University does not inspect, approve or regulate these properties:

Utilities such as heat, hot water and electricity are sometimes included in the rental rate of a property. You should check with the complex or individual landlord to inquire.

Transportation:
University Shuttles are free to UR students. Shuttles operate within the University area and throughout select areas of Rochester. For shuttle routes and schedules, please visit www.rochester.edu/parking/shuttle.htm.
The Regional Transit System (RTS) may be contacted at 585-288-1700 or www.rgrta.org for information on public bus schedules, routes and fares. RTS bus passes can be purchased at the River Campus Parking Office in Fauver Stadium.
If you plan on driving a car to campus, you’ll need to purchase a commuter parking permit. Visit Parking Services at http://www.rochester.edu/parking/students.htm.
