In 2016, Hendricks Regional Health unveiled seven core values that represent a common thread throughout our organization’s culture. They are The Hendricks Way, the foundation of the work done every day throughout our hospital and health system. These values ignite passion within our associates to provide the best quality care to patients, our community, and each other.

These important values also represent reasons why generous donors listed in

this report make gifts to Hendricks Regional Health Foundation. They value the care they receive, our commitment to community, and the opportunity to make a difference. We are grateful to these individuals, businesses, and organizations that believe in these values as strongly as we do, and support our efforts with their collaboration, engagement, loyalty, and respect.

It was my honor in 2016 to complete my eighth year as a member of the HRH Foundation board of directors and second year as board chair. Thanks to support from wonderful and generous community partners, we have made amazing progress since our efforts began in 2009.

Hendricks Regional Health continues its dedication to remain independent as it cares for the community it has served for more than 50 years. A

high level of collaboration, respect, empathy, and integrity are exhibited every day and in every way through the indispensable care provided to all who walk through the doors. You help make that possible with your gifts.

In 2016, nearly $300,000 was returned to HRH by our foundation to in support of quality patient care. Funds were directed to purchase and pay operating expenses for HendricksGO!, a medical transport van that will assist patients who need help getting to and from vital medical appointments. Dialysis, chemotherapy, and physical therapy, for example, are all necessary to help people with their recovery and health.

Additionally, more than $76,000 was directed for projects that help HRH caregivers and their patients. They include simulation training manikins and materials, a patient education video, blanket warmer, glucose monitors, compression wraps, safe patient handling equipment, and funds to help patients in need of vital medical care.
