What is Trust?

Trust is having faith. It is relying and believing in someone or something. It is having

confidence that the right thing will happen without trying to control it or make it

happen. Trusting others is believing that people will do what they say they are

going to do. It is having faith in your own ability to learn and grow.

You are practising Trust when you …

Have faith in God’s love and follow your own guidance.

Let trust chase away your fears.

Ask God for help with anything that scares you.

Know that your best is good enough.

Virtue of the Week: Trust

All activities or items cost $1 each.

Movies run over two days but students

only pay once.

This week is Catholic Missions Week

Last Wednesday, 6 September, St Mark’s choir visited Bolton Clarke Fairview nursing home at Pinjarra Hills. The choir enjoyed singing to the elderly residents and had an amazing experience. The residents were happy as they were smiling and were brought to tears with the choir’s talent.

Leuca – “It was a great experience to sing for them and make their day happier. I felt sad and happy at the same time.”

Kevin – “I felt sad because the people seemed lonely and they were not around family.”

Annvanah – “We sang five songs in three different places to a range of people with different needs.”

Odrey – “It was good to support the residents and represent St Mark’s School.”

Yvonne – “I felt happy to perform for the residents and I felt sorry for the people who have disabilities.”

The choir would like to thank Bolton Clarke Fairview nursing home for the invitation, Mrs Gorman who supervised and Mr Hoe who conducted the choir.

NRL Finals

This weekend sees the battle of the cousins (see photo). BJ's cousin, Penrith's number 6 Tyrone May up against Motu's cousin, Broncos number 6 and our very own Anthony Milford in this week's NRL final. We send our best wishes to both teams and regardless of the result, the winner will have a St Mark's influence.

In the other matchup, it is my mighty Parramatta Eels up against Mrs. Rangel's Nth Qld Cow-boys. My tip...EELS by 6

Focus on Reading and Writing

Last week the year 4 students travelled to Ipswich to participate in four workshops run by four Austral-ian authors. We learnt about turning our ideas into stories, creating funny scenes and making our illustrations

part of our work. One of our favourite authors was

Matt Stanton who wrote the hilarious “This is a Ball”.

We Certainly “Escaped to Everywhere”

with Book Week!

The Sandwich board displays were fabulous too!

Reading on a Rug is always a great success.

Teachers and children escaped to everywhere with their books.

We had wonderful displays which the children had made.

We stepped into a book to discover new

worlds in reading.

Our plane flight to “Escape” was lots of fun and the Li-brary Flight Crew want to thank everyone for their

support.

It was great to see

so many in

Costume!
