Three Goals:

• Identify and summarize Ohio’s job needs

• Align education and training to meet these needs

• Reform our current workforce programs

OWT - IDENTIFY OHIO’S URGENT JOB NEEDS

OhioMeansJobs: Use existing state statistical data on jobs and posting trends

Labor Market Information: Use Department of Labor data to augment state data

Survey Data: Layer existing state data with forecast results: businesses driving Ohio’s economy, tell us your most urgent workforce needs

IDENTIFYING IN DEMAND JOBS

Created & Deployed a Jobs Forecast Tool to businesses tied to the JobsOhio Industry clusters

Finalizing a methodology to combine forecast results with state and job posting trend data

How do we share the data?

• Create an online tool to show you the opportunities• Reports to education/training providers and local workforce

partners• Report findings of our most in-demand jobs – statewide,

regionally, by industry

OWT - ALIGN EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Goal: A directionally accurate forecast drives priorities and education/training alignment
