Project Highlights – SR-73 to El Toro Road

• Two build alternatives under consideration with the following features:

– Additional general purpose lanes

– Extension of second carpool lane from Alicia Parkway to El Toro Road

– Conversion of existing carpool lanes to continuous access

– Reconstruction of Avery Parkway and La Paz Road interchanges

– Re-establishment of all existing auxiliary lanes

– Soundwalls

• Potential Partial Acquisitions/Temporary Construction Easements

– Various locations throughout the project limits to accommodate widening and construct retaining walls/ soundwalls

Environmental Considerations

– Project will provide bicycle access on local arterials being widened, in accordance with Orange County Transportation Authority’s Commuter Bikeways Strategic Plan

• Prepare Noise Study Report – Take noise measurements and identify traffic noise

impacts

– Propose noise abatement where impacts are identified

– Determine whether abatement measures are feasible

– Calculate reasonable allowance per feasible noise barrier

• Prepare Noise Abatement Decision Report – Determine whether noise barriers are reasonable

• Noise level reduction design goal

• Estimated construction cost of barrier

• Survey property owners and non-owner occupants • Develop preliminary recommendation and decision
