Walt Disney World contains 4 Theme Parks: The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios,

    and Animal Kingdom.

There are also two water parks and a downtown shopping/entertainment district

In addition, there are tons of pools and activities not in the parks!

Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom can be split into half aday each. The Magic Kingdom and Epcot each requireAT LEAST

a full day to get the full experience, butyoull be exhausted if

you try to do it all in a day.

There should be relaxing time planned. Relaxing can mean

shopping downtown, exploring the various hotels, renting a

boat, hanging out on the beach, or in pools.

However, budgets must be taken into consideration.

Sarah suggests a four or five day trip.

Fun fact: the average person walks eight miles a day in Walt Disney World. Take a break and relax!

Walt Disney World is twice the size of Manhattan!

There are three castles and three mountains in the Magic Kingdom.

Its great to learn cause knowledge is power: Epcot boasts twelve

international experiences on one side of the park and an aquarium, green

house, car showcase, and an experience through energy on the other!

Disneys Hollywood Studios used to be a real working animation studio.

Today, although known for its shows and thrill rides, you can still take a

    short drawing class.

Animal Kingdom contains 3,000 species of animals and plants in addition

to a roller coaster, shows, and more!

Walt Disney passed away before ground was broken for construction of

Walt Disney World. Even so, there is one ride where he had stepped foot

    The Carousel of Progress!

Places to stay vary in price, shape, size, advantages and disadvantages. Things that

need to be taken into consideration are: how many people are staying, whether or

not one intends to eat all meals in the parks, and whether or not one has access to

    a car.

On Disney property, there are 30 different hotel options.

No, we cant stay in the castle.

Off Disney property, there are hundreds of hotels and other rental options.

Please let Ed and Banzai explain the advantages and disadvantages on the following

    slides

  • 8/13/2019 Updated Disney

    10/27

Advantages:Extra Magic Hours (access in the parks before or

after regular park hours) - This can mean shorterwait times!

Magic Bands (bracelets that serve as your park

ticket, room key, and photo pass) They allow you to

plan some fast passes in advance. That means you

get to go through a very quick line for some of the

    busiest rides!

Free delivery of souvenirs to your hotel room

(dont want to lug anything around all day? Just tellthem and it will appear at your hotel that evening!)

Charging food/souvenirs/etc. to your hotel room

You dont have to pay for parking

Free access to the Disney transportation system

(buses, boats, and monorails) that will take you

straight to the parksTransportation means we

wouldnt all need to come and go at the same

timeFree Disney transportation to and from Orlando

International Airport you can even check in from

    your hotel!

    Amazing theming and great service

    Mickey waffles for breakfast

Unlimited access to free stickers and pins

    Disadvantages:Significantly more expensive

    Some hotels have obnoxious children

The annoying Must-Do Disney tourist TV channel

Depending on the hotel, some people might have

    to share beds

  • 8/13/2019 Updated Disney

    11/27

    Disadvantages:

No Extra Magic HoursNo Magic Bands/Pre-planning fast passes

    $14 for Parking each day

You need a car (which means gas and all

    squishing into one car)

Possibly having to rent a car

No early check-in or transportation to theairport

No shopping delivery to your hotelMost of the greater Orlando area is VERY

    sketchy and can be scary

Sarah doesnt have a relationship with any

other rentals. It could end badly.

We would all have to agree when to

go/how long to stay at one location

No access to the Disney poolsSarahs heart breaks a tiny bit

No instant access to Mickey waffles

    Advantages:

Can be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaperWe may not have to share beds

We could have access to a kitchen

    More space sometimes

We could rent an entire house for a fraction ofthe price of a Disney hotel

For two or three people, staying in one hotel room (two beds):

We could stay on Disney property for

    about $140 in a non-discounted room.

These are for the non-frill hotels.

There are also Little Mermaid themed

    rooms for $180 a night.

    They include free parking, free

    transportation around the parks, access

to at least two pools, magic bands, extra

magic hours, a food court, and freetransportation to and from the Orlando

    airport.

There are times where discounts are

available. There is a chance, if we make

a commitment SOON, that I can get up

    to 40% off these rates.

We could stay off property in a rentalhousefor

    between $100 and $200 a night.OR

Hotel rooms in Kissimmee can be found for about $100

a night for two or three of us. However, they are inSKETCHY places and require parking fees, etc. Some are

as cheap as $50 a night.

A hotel or suite in Downtown Disney is not*technically* on property, but theyre in a safe area.

These can be found for $120 - $400 a night plus resort

    fees.

For five people (Frisellas, Sarah, and Thea):

We could stay on Disney property in a non-

discountedroom for about $380 a night in a

    suite.

While these rooms *technically* fit six

people, that assumes people are sharingbeds. They are small. Much more appropriate

for three or four people or small children.

We could share a cabin on property, running

about $365 a night. This would have two

double beds and a bunk bed. It would also

    include a kitchen.

A more expensive room can be upwards of

    $700.

Like on the other rooms, there is a chance

that I can get a discounted rate.

We could stay off property in a rentalhousefor

between $100 and $200 a night. These often have a

minimum amount of days you must stay.

Hotel rooms in Kissimmee can be found for about $100

a night, but would not account for all of us, and like Isaid, most of the area is SKETCHY and we would have

    parking, etc. fees

A hotel or suite in Downtown Disney is not*technically* on property, but theyre in a safe area.

These can be found for $120 - $400 a night plus resort

    fees.

If someone wins the lottery, it is also possible to stay at DisneysDELUXE resorts at a discounted rate. These are the nicest andlargest rooms that Walt Disney World has to offer. These hotelsare closest to the parks, (some within walking distance) as well. They would have enough space for all of us, plus have a kitchenor kitchenette in the room!

For example, a stay at the Animal Kingdom Villas would usually costabout $1,000 a night (for a two bedroom suite). However, wecould stay for five nights for a totalof $2,716.

Other deluxe hotel options with similar discounts would include:

The hotels closest to The Magic Kingdom and have easymonorail access: The Grand Floridian and The Contemporary

The Wilderness Lodge (close to the Magic Kingdom, but nomonorail access. Park access is by boat)

The hotels closest to Epcot: The Beach Club and The Boardwalk

The hotels near Downtown Disney: Saratoga Springs and OldKey West

    For six or more people.

We could stay on Disney property in a

    non-discounted room for about $1,055

a night in a suite that would fit all of us

    comfortably.

Or we could get multiple rooms.

Like on the other rooms, there is a

chancethat I can get a discounted rate.

between $100 and $200 a night. These often have a

For two people, staying on property, for five days and five nights,

going to only one park a day, it would cost a total of $1,281.90

a non-discounted rate for hotel. It could be cheaper.

For three people, staying on property, for five days and five

nights, going to only one park a day, this price would be a

total of $1,572.85 or $524.28 per person. This would not

Okay, but can we make this cheaper?

    Of course we can.

If we stay at a hotel off property for five days and

five nights, we could stay for $50 a night insteadof $140. (For more than three people, we wouldneed two rooms.)

However, please take note of my off-propertyslides disadvantage list.
