You will develop a rich understanding of education, and you will also develop the mathematical skills that you will need for life.

WHY?

Education as a way to provide students with the skills they need for the labor market

Education as a way to make students into thoughtful democratic citizens

Education in the US context as a shared cultural experience for all young people

Today, we will look at 3 pieces of media that will introduce us to these concepts.

THEMES FOR SURVEY OF US EDUCATION

Think of this as critical thinking with numbers.

We will review some basic concepts in algebra, geometry and statistics.

But we will spend most of our time solving word problems.

We will also apply math to the everyday needs of a hypothetical Moroccan English teacher.
