caregivers and their loved ones to hire pre-screened care providers online.

We also help people build their own business, while serving their

community. We build tools to effectively manage their business, while

improving upon their quality of care. We empower family caregivers and

their loved ones to control the delivery of care, build lasting relationships

with a dedicated care team, and focus on spending quality time together.

broken system - one senior, one caregiver and one community at a time. At

so they can spend quality time with their loved ones.

technology to deliver a superior home care experience that fulfills the aging population’s demand for higher quality care that they control - on demand.

OUR STORY

The idea for Uplift came around a kitchen table when Krystyn Harrison and her

husband, Matt were trying to solve a problem that Krystyn’s mom was having. Her

mom, a working professional was having difficulty finding trusted care for her mother,

who has dementia. Her greatest challenge was finding balance in her life, while trying

to avoid ‘parenting her parent’. Krystyn believed there had to be a better way to deliver

home care that was affordable, accessible, and accountable to help her grandmother

age in place, while lending balance back to her mom’s life. She believed technology

was the answer.

Krystyn was inspired by the sharing (or collaborative) economy model, that

empowers individuals to act as both consumer and supplier of goods and services,

Uplift exists to encourage, lift up and empower the aging population, their caregivers

and marginalized home care professionals. The Uplift app is a tool that will empower

everyone to age their way - whether they choose to age at home or not. We are

‘uplifting’ all key stakeholders by connecting real people locally, to solve the needs of

the aging population.

Uplift is launching on the App Store and Google Play in July, 2015.

OUR SERVICES

In July, our mobile application will be free to download through the App Store and Google Play Store. We make money by charging a 20% transaction fee for each Care Visit.

Tasks of Daily LivingCare Managers can select from an a-la carte menu of ‘tasks’. There is a one hour booking minimum with no up-front fees.

Krystyn wanted to help her Grandmother ‘age differently’- with the dignity and respect she deserved.

She created Uplift to achieve this vision and used technology to help communities care for one another - connecting neighbours to neighbours.

Krystyn lives in Toronto with her husband, Matt and cat, Rudy. She graduated from Ivey Business School, where she earned her MBA.

Andres’ passion for solving complex problems through innovative solutions inspired him to join Uplift, where he is focused on scaling our Care Community.

A Chemical engineer by trade, Andres brings 8 years of experience in operations, general management and holds an MBA from Ivey Business School.

He believes that nobody should struggle to find care, but everyone should have access to care professionals.

Colton comes to Uplift with over 10 years of design, development, and management experience in the digital creative industry and leads Inner Geek, Uplift’s digital agency of record.

Over the years, he has cofounded 4 companies and provided many web and mobile solutions.

When the opportunity to join Uplift presented itself, Colton was thrilled to help create an innovative product, in a very deserving industry.

Dr. Peter Nord is currently a hospital-based physician providing clinical and administrative services.

He has led healthcare organizations in Canada and in the US. In Ontario, he has been a champion for innovation in all areas of post-acute care.

He joined Uplift because he believes it is the most innovative approach to one of the greatest challenges facing the aging populations.
