Arch. Nyaboga Antonio OmbatiB.Arch (Hons), MAAK(A)DIRECTOR

Ombati holds a Bachelor of Architect from Jomo KenyattaUniversity of Agriculture and Technology. At Kubuni, Ombati isresponsible for project management, the preparation ofarchitectural design and detail drawings, surveys, technicalspecifications, evaluations & project related documentation /management. His organizational skills, combined with hisdiligence, exceptional design flare and management abilities,allow him to play a key role in the running of Kubuni Studio.

Prior to starting Kubuni, Antonio was a lead Architect and aDirector at Questworks Architecture working a number ofprojects namely, The Strathmore Law School building (SLS),Masterplan for the National Youth Centre in Kasarani,Cavendish University Campuses in Lusaka and Kampala just toname a few.

Prior to Questworks, he worked as graduate architect at BlinkStudio(2011-2013)involved in a wide array of commercial,residential, interior design and industrial developments namelyGreen City gardens Phase 1 (Syokimau), Diamond OceanResort (Shanzu, Mombasa), Castellano Water Front (Athi River),Golden Tulip Hotel (Westlands). He also worked as an assistantarchitect at Lexicon Designs (2008-2011), where alongsidedesign, worked on the documentation of LEED accreditationfor Strathmore University’s phase 3. At Lippsmeier + Partner(2007-2008) he worked on design and supervision of primaryschools in urban informal settlements in Nairobi Kenya.

Kenneth Munene KobiaB. Arch (Hons) MAAK(Graduate Architect)

Kenneth is a graduate architect and holds aBachelor of Architecture degree from theUniversity of Nairobi. His interests lie in interiorarchitecture and sustainable urban design.

Prior to joining Kubuni, he worked in Questworksas a Graduate Architect, Kenneth also workedas a freelance designer in the development andresidential interiors. He also partook in variousprojects like Windsor View Apartments(Thindigua, Kiambu), Interiors for HighlandsRestaurant & Bar (Nairobi, CBD), renovations andfit out for Cavendish University (Kampala,Ugnada), Office Block( Westlands, Nairobi)together with Interiors for Premier Dead SeaStore( Karen,Nairobi) just to name a few.

Faith Fwenda MurekefuB. Arch (Hons) MAAK(Graduate Architect)

Murekefu holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree,First Class Honours, from University of Nairobi. AtKubuni Studio, Murekefu is responsible for thepreparation of architectural design and detaildrawings, surveys, technical specifications,evaluations & project related documentation /management.

Prior to joining Kubuni in 2016, she worked atQuestworks as an architect since 2015. She wasalso an intern at Otto Mruttu+Partners (2013)focusing majorly on residential developments. Shealso worked as a junior architect at Al-JameaArchitects (2015), where she worked on the AlJamea Tus Saifiyah Campus in Karen. She has aspecial interest in interior design and she hasgreatly mastered.

Edel is a university student currently persuing herBA in International Relations with a minor inpsychology. Her interests lie in languages andhas good social skills.

Prior to joining Kubuni, she worked at Oro loungeat the front desk before joining Coke Studio towork as an assistant film editor. She also has adiploma in french.

Mageka MwachugaBA Finance(Financial Consultant)

Mageka has a degree in commerce (financeoption). He is currently doing his MBA. He also hasa certificate in computer packages. His interestaare analyzing financial statements and businesstrends on a global perspective

Prior to working for Kubuni he was an intern atPostal Corporation of Kenya where he wasallocated in the financial department and giventhe various tasks such as: budgeting, budgetorycontrol, inventory, bank reconciliation, salaries, taxmanagement and finacial accounts.afterwards he went on o be an associate atwoodvale associates where he did the followingtasks: real estate, NGO's, forensic auditing, hotels,micro-finance institutions, driving schools,rentalincome, preparation of budgets, accounting andpreparation and tax planning.

The client sort increase office space to accomodate thegrowing personel in manner that does not interupt theday to day activities of the organisation.

The solution we provided is to build pre-engineeredstructure which a hybrid of structural steel and lightguage steel (LGS). This will enable the building to bedone over a shorter period than convetional concretebuilding technology.

This involved the vertical extension of classrooms andconstruction of an ablution block at the Aga Khan Academylocated in Parklands along the 1st parklands avenue. Theconstruction was done using light gauge steel which is a modernoption that requires very little construction time and wet works.
