The group is home to the prominent urban poets Joshua Bennett, Alysia Harris, Jas-mine Mans, Miles Hodges, Zora Howard, and Carvens Lissaint. They have been featured on HBO, The Sundance Film Festival, The Kennedy

Center, and even slammin’ on stage with Grammy winning and nominated artists.

“I Turn the Lens on Myself to embody Urbaness Essence in my own ~Shaun Ross

Shaun Ross is no stranger to fierce mod-eling, acting, artistry, and advocacy. He has been featured in name brand runways and the infamous, America’s Next Top Model! How-ever, Ross’s talents also streams to the front

of the camera, he also knows a thing or to about unique urban photography. Ross has recently taken on a new mission in being fierce behind the camera in his unique self-portrait inspired photography.

Luckily for him, his urban roots serve as the founda-tion for the artistic nature of his modeling and self-pho-tography. “The images and scenes I was exposed to as a child in the streets are the same images I want to portray through my art,” he says.

Ross’s work has been featured in various urban in-spired print productions from Atlanta to New York. He says that he wants his work to set an example for Ameri-ca to begin to appreciate the urban image as a praisewor-thy craft. “ The urban masterpiece is to much of a vibrant canvas to not embrace it, we should mix the colors up a bit in our masterpieces”
