Located in the premier Casa Condominio Residenza, this luxury condominium boasts an ecclectic energy and a sense of ‘contemporary cool’, thanks in large part to its

AAA location: the nexus of Yonge and Bloor streets! How would you like to reside in a neighbourhood that effortlessly adds depth and dimension to your daily life?! Living just two blocks from Toronto’s most famous crossroads means proximity to the highest quality dining, shopping, and entertainment! Delectable dining is available in several locations along Bloor Street and tucked away in the surrounding neighbourhood. I particularly enjoy the quiet patio at Wish for cocktails, dinner, or a brilliant brunch! Or, if you’re craving excellent Italian, Focaccia offers a scrumtious line up of fantastic fare. Heading out for happy hour? Meet up with friends for libations and some French-inspired amuse bouche at Yorkville’s Sassafraz! In need of retail therapy? There’s endless choices, with the eclectic shops and services of Yonge Street leading south to College Park and the Eaton Centre at Dundas Square, while the designer boutiques of Bloor and Yorkville are just kitty corner to this light-filled penthouse aerie! If you’re running everyday errands, there’s a grocer, pharmacy, and liquor store a hop, skip, and a jump away - along with the imminent arrival of Eatlay and one of the city’s best cinema experiences at the Cineplex Odeon Varsity & VIP Cinemas in The Manulife Centre! Craving culture? Entertainment and educational opportunities abound with the Royal Ontario Musuem, the Toronto Reference Library and the University of Toronto just a jaunt beyond your front door!

One of the most important aspects of urban living is easy access. And it doesn’t get much better than this, with the centre axis of Toronto’s subway system located right at Bloor and Yonge. For automobile commuters - or those escaping the city for the weekend - the Gardiner Expressway and DVP are close as well, simply by taking Church Street to Rosedale Valley Road which effortlessly winds to the highway onramp! However, when you need to ‘get away’ you don’t always have to go far! If you find yourself needing a break from the bustle and bright lights, relax and recharge at any of the nearby green spaces.! George Hislop Park and James Canning Gardens are very close by. Plus the tree-line streets of Rosedale just north of this penthouse are perfect for a picturesque afternoon stroll (perhaps on route to the Five Bandits or stellar LCBO in the converted rail station at Summerhill). And don’t forget the amazing Don Valley park system (including Evergreen Brick Works) which holds endless potential for bikers and hikers alike!

Located on an tree-lined street just east of Yonge Street, south of Bloor, Casa Condominio Residenza was designed by architectsAlliance Ltd. and developed by reputable Cresford Developments. Completed in 2010, this opulent residence claims modern Italian architecture and design as a primary influence, and is highly sought-after by those who desire living spaces characterized by thoughtful elegance. The popularity of this building spurred two more iterations, Casa II and Casa II, but 33 Charles Street East is the enigmatic original.

Rising to 46 storeys, this glass-and-steel symphony of modern architecture is a striking fixture on the Toronto landscape. The main entrance opens into an impressive atrium, where the chic decor is underplayed and tasteful, accenting a volumous space soaring five storeys high. chic décor. The building contains 420 well-appointed suites that range in size from 365 square feet to just under 2300 square feet, and most feature floor-to-ceiling windows (perfect for drinking in the “Bright Lights Big City” vistas) and 9.5” ceilings. Other welcome features include wide, open concept living, truly intelligent space plans, premium fixtures & fittings, and incredible entertainment spaces. All of these dreamy desirables combine to create a quintessential downtown domicile that you can’t help but fall in love with. That said, there are only four penthouses, and only two with the coveted panoramic CN Tower and Lake Ontario views like this one, that offer a truly unique ‘best of everything’ style of living. But this building isn’t just about stunning suites; it’s also about an engaging urban community, complete with life-enhancing on-site amenities. This includes an outstanding fifth floor Boutique Hotel-like outdoor pool and hot tub, a gym/fitness centre, massage rooms, 2 guest suites, a media room, and even a swish lounge outfitted with kitchen, billiards, wi-fi, and divine indoor/outdoor dining! It’s amazing. In fact, every time I visit these amenities, they’re filled with residents who are are actively engaged in their use, and with each other!

I have absolutely loved living at 33 Charles Street for the past five years. As soon as I walked into the suite on that very first day, I knew this was the place for me! The first thing I saw was the stunning lake view. I rarely close the blinds; I love seeing the Toronto skyline and lake at all times of day! The upper terrace - where those panoramic vistas are the most impressive - is the perfect entertainment space, weather permitting. My friends, houseguests, and I love sunbathing, lounging, and even dining on the terrace (which is a breeze thanks to the built-in BBQ and fridge/freezer!)

Truthfully, the lower deck sees just as much use. It wraps right around the condo and includes my favourite spot: the cozy seating area just off the kitchen! The two club chairs, table, and (of course) the view make this place my go-to retreat! In any season, this is where I read, catch up on the news, have my morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine. The best part is probably the light – at all times of day! From dawn to dusk, this picturesque vantage point is quieting and calming, with the evening bringing an incredible vibrancy as the skyline lights up. My friends and social media followers can attest to the ridiculous number of photos I have taken from that very seat!

I love being able to see right outside as soon as I walk in the front door. The floor-to-ceiling windows are made even grander by the impressive ceiling height. They – along with the open concept floor plan - create a certain “flow” that always just felt right. Wide, open spaces and high ceilings are just what I’ve always wanted in a city home! It’s been bliss.

Speaking to the efficiency of the building, the property management team and the security concierge personnel are equally outstanding. In addition to being friendly and helpful, they’re also extremely efficient; all deliveries are safely stowed (including groceries that are put in chilled storage until I get home to collect them!)

I adore the on-site amenities, all of which are located on the fifth floor including the gym, private event lounge and kitchen. There is even a pool and hot tub – which I get plenty of use out of - along with an outdoor dining and bbq area. But, frankly, I always preferred to bbq and dine on my private terrace upstairs!

I can say, honestly, that the new owner will undoubtedly love this neighbourhood as much as I have! The area is so vibrant, with plenty of top-notch restaurants and cafes. You have all the conveniences and perks of being near Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and at the intersection of all public transit! I can walk to the subway station in just a couple of minutes, or stroll down to the Eaton’s Centre in under 15 minutes. Yorkville is just around the corner, with a wide range of excellent eateries, and swish boutiques, and is also home to my favourite gelato and espresso purveyors! Even though it sounds cliché, all things I need really are mere steps away. Whether it’s a dentist appointment or a grocery run, I never have to travel far!

A 1-minute walk from my building is the restaurant Wish. It’s a casual and cozy favourite of mine for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch! I enjoy the heated patio, and the menu offerings are sublime. That said, I admit to most often just ordering “my usual”; Sam, Raymond, and the Wish team always take care of me whether I am dining solo or out with friends! I also enjoy their sister restaurant, 7 Café, which is just a few minutes down the street. A casual cafe with a plenty of surprising twists on the classics, it’s unique in that it’s open 24/7! But my absolute favourite dinner spot, just a 20-minute walk or short Uber ride away, is Enoteca L’Unita! They have spectacular food, exceptional service, and a lovely Italian/Ontario wine list!

I have so genuinely loved this condo and neighbourhood that it will be difficult to say goodbye! I’ve so enjoyed walking the tree-line avenues and seeing the leaves change in the Don Valley, but proximity to the DVP (to get to my office) and to Billy Bishop Airport (for business trips) is just not of the same importance having recently retired. Now, my closest friends and family are all living in the suburbs, and I’m looking to move in order to be closer to them. Otherwise, I’d never leave! I hope you fall in love with my condo - and the neighbourhood – as deeply I did.

Living here has been a wonderful chapter in my life! - Karen
