AGEING: Stainless steel. Unoaked

ALCOHOL: 12.5%

TASTING NOTES:

Medium straw-colored, it offers up a nose of melon, apple, and pear. On the palate it is smooth-textured, flavorful, and lively. Its great acidity and minerality make it a great companion to shellfish and all kinds of seafood. A beautiful summer wine from Spain’s best known region and a great alternative to Albariño and Verdejo.

ANNUAL PRODUCTION: 60,000 btls.

VARIETALS: 95% Tempranillo, 3% Mazuelo, 2% Graciano

AGEING: 14 months in American oak + 12 months in the bottle before release.

ALCOHOL: 13%

TASTING NOTES:

Medium crimson-colored, it emits an aromatic array of cedar, tobacco, spice box, cherry, and black raspberry. On the palate it displays an elegant personality with ample spicy fruit, nice structure, and a silky finish with notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Its great integration of fruit, oak and acidity make this Crianza a perfect pairing for nearly any dish.

TASTING NOTES:

The 2001 Seleccion Especial was produced from organically grown fruit from 50+-year-old vines. It is dark ruby-colored with an earthy nose that also reveals crushed rock, spice box, and black cherry. Made in a traditional style, it is graceful on the palate with silky red fruits, lively acidity, excellent balance, and a pure finish. Very versatile with food. Ideal with medium-flavored grilled meats and pasta dishes. 90 points Parker.

The 1994 Gran Reserva Especial (from a great vintage) is medium ruby colored with a lovely bouquet of cherry blossom, earth notes, spice box, leather, black cherry, and plum. On the palate it is multifaceted, elegant, concentrated, impeccably balanced, and holding strong. It should drink nicely for another 15 yrs. or longer. 92 points Parker.
