I think the most excing thing for me was seeing all students so happy and proud to perform. The growth in confidence the students showed was a credit to them- selves. Well done kids! Thanks also to our fantasc P and C who were able to coordi- nate catering for the evening. I know eve- ryone enjoyed being able to have food on the night. Finally thanks so much to our wonderful staff. Every support staff mem- ber was there on the night and their help was invaluable. A huge thanks also goes to our teachers including Chris Costello who did a fine job of working with stu- dents to get them ready for their perfor- mance. Finally a special thanks goes to Jenny Morton who helped to coordinate the whole Showcase. You put in a huge amount of work. Thanks so much!

Kindy Orientation Our final Kinder Orientation finished today. The students have been here for 3 mornings, which has been great. The new kinders were here today in K/1 with their Year 5 buddies. The Year 5 students will be assisting teachers next year to help our new kinders settle in. Finding and making dinosaurs was part of today. Lots of fun! Thanks also to Mrs Davenport for coordinating this opportunity.

Brisbane Excursion The day is almost here. No not the US elections which are on tomorrow but the Brisbane excursion. It should be a great time. Students will be visiting Australia Zoo, Underwater World, the Planetarium, Hyperbowl and a variety of museums. The students are all very excited. We would like all students to be at school by 7.15 to leave by 7.30. We are all ready to have a great time.

Intensive Swimming Intensive swimming commences on Monday 14 November. Notes were sent home last week with students who expressed an interest to attend. Please return money and permission notes. For students attending the Brisbane excursion, just a reminder swimming starts on the following Monday on your return.

Touch Football Sessions Each Friday over the next 5 weeks our students will be involved in touch football coaching sessions with a specialist touch football coach.

This is a great opportunity for students to learn the skills of

touch football. It should be lots of fun!

School Garden We are setting a date in Week 8 to start the school garden. We are looking for all Year 6 families to help as this will be the gift to the school from Year 6. Please stay tuned for more information next week.

Naidoc Day Unfortunately we have cancelled the planned Naidoc Day. Trying to coordinate 6 schools plus presenters has proven very difficult.

P&C Uniform Shop It has been two years since Burringbar School P&C opened our uniform shop and changed the look of our uniform. I’m sure your child/ren have grown quite significantly (I know mine have). If you are thinking of ordering new uni-forms for next year could you please fill in the attached uniform order form and return to the office by Friday 18th November. As it is getting close to the end of the year I need to order to insure everyone gets what they require as we only keep a small selection in stock. You can either pay when your return your order or pay when your order is ready for collection. It is really important if you are thinking about ordering you return order form by Friday 18 November. Second hand uniforms will add an asset to our uniform shop. All money raised from the uniform shop benefits our children. If anyone has uniforms that are too small for your child/ren please send them in. Second hand uniforms can be left at the front office. Canteen Due to the majority of students away this Friday we will not be selling Slushies or Sushi — this week only. If you require any additional information please contact me. Email – [email protected]. Mobile – 0402160353. Thank you. Nina Bathie - Uniform Shop Coordinator
