Sunspot Cycle and War & Violence • A.L. Tchijevsky, a Russian professor of Astronomy and Biological Physics, compiled the histories of 72 countries from 500 BC to 1922 AD to provide a strong database to articulate his correlations. After rating the most significant events, Tchijevsky found that fully 80% of the most significant human events, mostly related to war and violence, occurred during the 5 years or so of maximum sunspot activity.

Sunspot Cycle and War & ViolenceA.L.

Sunspot Cycle and Economic DepressionThere was a rather strong connection between major recession and the peaks of the sunspot cycles. There was one major exception, the last Great Depression, the bottom of which (1933) can be seen in the trough between sunspot peaks. The collapse of the stock market, however, paralleled right on the peak of the solar cycle in late 1929.

Is there a correlation between sunspot cycle and Dow Jones Industrial? Not really, the only direct connection that appears is as a breaking signal. During the sunspot peak, the speculative Bull Run bubbles in stock break and an economic recession begins fairly soon thereafter. This often leaves the stock prices headed down even while sunspots are still rising. This destroys any statistical averages which can be used for prediction.

11 Year Sunspot Cycle & Stock MarketDuring the 20th Century, the peak of stock market will be usually 3 to 6 months ahead of the peak of sunspot cycle. There is only one wrong prediction in the past which was in 1957.

Sunspot Cycle and Interest RateThe US 13 Week Treasury Bill rate peaked at the same time as the sunspot during the last several decades

Sunspot and Soybean PriceIf the sunspot cycle does affect the weather and in turn how well soybean grows then we would expect the variations to be go beyond optimum condition in two directions (be it too hot and too cold or too wet and too dry) and therefore in one sunspot cycle there would be two cycles in soybean growth.
