U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program
Sponsored by the U.S. Trade Development Agency (USTDA) and coordinated by the American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) in partnership with Power Africa, the U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program (CESP) provides
a forum through which industry and government representatives from the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa can:
n Cooperate on issues relating to standards, conformity assessment, and technical regulations for clean
energy technologies;
n Foster the relationships necessary to facilitate U.S.-Africa technical exchange on standards, conformity
assessment, and technical regulations; and
n Exchange up-to-date information on the latest issues and developments relating to standards, conformity
assessment, and technical regulations in the clean energy space.
Beginning in 2016, ANSI will coordinate an initial 4 workshops over an 18-month period in Sub-Saharan Africa
under the CESP. The workshops will cover a wide range of technologies and challenges in the clean energy area.
Workshop topics will be chosen in coordination with relevant industry associations, ANSI, and USTDA.
