Dear Registrant:

The labeling cited above and submitted in connection with registration under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FlFRA), as amended, is accepted subject to the comments reflected on the enclosed sheet. A copy of your proposed labeling stamped "ACCEPTED WITII COMMENTS" is enclosed.

WHAT TIllS ACCEPTANCE MEANS:

Based on your certification, the Agency has accepted the labeling changes that are necessary to comply with the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) labeling reqdrements of 40 CFR part 156, subpart K, described in PR Notices 93-7 and 93-11. Any other labeling changes submi~~ed in connection with this amendment application but not directly related to compliance with the WPS have not been reviewed or accepted by the Agency. If you wish to make such changes, you must submit a separate amendment application proposing them. If your product is currently suspended, the acceptance of this labeling amendment does not affect the suspension in ~.ny w<:y.

By the next label printing make all the specified changes to your labeling. Send to EPA one (1) copy of the final printed labeling:

Based on your certification, the Agency has accepted the labeling changes that are necessary to comply with the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) labeling requirements of 40 CFR part 156, subpart K, described in PR Notices 93-7 and 93·11. Any other labeling changes submitted in connection with this amendment application but not directly related to compliance with the WPS have not been reviewed or accepted by the Agency. If you wish to make such ('hanges, you must submit a separate amendment application proposing them. If your product is currently suspended, the acceptance of this labeling amendment does not affect the suspension in any way.

Ou Pont "lorox' L Herbicide is a IiqIid upension " be mixed in water and applied as a spray for selective control of weeds in certain crops and for nonselective weed control on noncropland areas. It is noncorrosive to equipment, nonIIammaIlIe and nonvoIaWe.

"LOIO'" L is an effective preemergence treatment of soybeans, asparagus, tubs, carroIs. corn, t?pid poplar, parsrips, potatoes and sorghum for enol of weeds listed below. "LOIox" L is pri:uIarIy efIecM in non-tilage SC1fbean production. Treatment is made after planting but before emergence of soybelw1s. "Lorox" L will not control established peremials such as bermuclagrass. Canada thistle, ieId bindweed, johnsongrass and purple nutsedge. The lower dosage rates are effective on coarser soils and the higher rates on finer soils and on the more resistant seediog weeds. SuffICient moisture (112" to I" on moist soils; I"" 2" on dry 1Oits) in the um of rainfall or sprinkler irrigation is necessary after .. eatment to CIIIY the chemical into the roof zone of germinating weeds; best resufIs are obtained when this occurs within two weeks after application. "Lorox· L applied pre, ~ergenee, before emergence of soybeans, asparagus, bulls, carrots. com (ieId). p!nIIips, potatoes, and sorghum, and weeds, is an effective procedure because susceptible weeds are controlled in an early, VIAnerabIe IeedIing stage before they compete with the crop. Wrth favorable moisture conditions, "Lorox" L continues to control weeds for some time as the crop becomes belter able to compete.
