SUMMARY

In the article, With new Congress comes a new push for gun laws, by Athena Jones the author discusses the new rise in gun bills as a result of the Sandy Hooke Elementary School shooting. Congresspersons who have introduced new legislation include Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, Rep. Steve Stockman, Rep. Thomas Massie, and Senator Diane Feinstein. This is a very controversial issue and many members of Congress are supported by the NRA. In addition, Republicans and Democrats are very divided on gun control. Jones questions will this Congress be willing and able to make changes related to gun regulations.
