The United States Declaration of Independence is a statement
adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776,
whichannounced that the thirteen American colonies then at war
withGreat Britain were now independent states, and thus no longer
apart of the British Empire.
Then, on September 17, 1787, some 11 years, 2 months
afterDeclaration of Independence was adopted, the United
StatesConstitution adopted. On that date all present became the
first UScitizens, and those future presidents not yet natural born
becameeligible, all born after this date, must be a "Natural Born
Citizen".
Article 2 section 1 clause 5 No person except a natural
bornCitizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the
Adoptionof this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of
President;neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who
shall not haveattained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been
fourteen Years aResident within the United States.
"Natural Born Citizen" is a child born in the USA to two US
Citizen
parents.
