I. Installation

1. Please download the USB Programmable Keyboard Driver Utility from Posiflex website.

*Note: You should download different setup executable according to your devices

2. Unzip the file “UKBW.rar”, and double-click the icon to install the USB Programmable

Keyboard Driver.

3. Please double-click the “Setup“ to start the installation.

4. In this step, you should waiting for setup process to Begin.

Please click the next step.

You should choose your folder name.



You should check about relational settings.

I recommend you can choose this one.



5. When you connect the USB Programmable Keyboard device, and HID Keyboard Device

will be increased



II. Programmable Keyboard

1. Please connect your KB keyboard & run the utility by click “Posiflex USB

Programmable Keyboard”.

2. When the utility is opened. From the title you can see the “Utility version” & “Keyboard

firmware version”.

*Keyboard firmware = last two digits

*If the utility doesn’t detect the keyboard, the key board firmware will show “0” as below

shown.

i. Main Screen

The main screen of Posiflex USB Programmable Keyboard is showing as bellow:

Graphical User Interface:

You can check the keyboard position, keyboard name, MSR, and keyboard Parameter

settings of the USB Programmable Keyboard Program.

Programming the key:

You can define the function with you mind.

Special Function Key:

Keyboard Shortcut and Keyboard Composition can be used.

Alt keyboard Sequence:

If you need to program special characters, then you have to enter some specification



values.

Programming the key:

Basically you can type the key content you need directly by the normally US keyboard.

*Note: This is a default screen include keyboard position, keyboard name, and keyboard

Parameter settings of the USB Programmable Keyboard Program.



If you click on the left software menu, then you can change the name of the button



If you click on the right software menu, and then you can input the value in Column.



ii. Special Function Key

If you need specific function key, please right-click to select the item you need. E.g. TAB,

Shift, Alt, F12 and Keyboard Shortcut.

iii. Alt Keyboard Sequence:

If your keyboard is not US keyboard layout, and you need to program special characters.

Please refer to “Alt keyboard Sequence” to program the key content you want.

E.g. @ = Alt + Numpad 6 + Numpad 4 + alt break. So, you the programing data would be

like:



*please don’t forget to add “Alt Break” to the key.

Alt: right click -> select <Alts>

Numpad number: right-click -> select <Numeric Pad> -> select the number you want

PS. To type a special character, using an Alt keyboard sequence:

Ensure that the Num Lock key has been pressed, to activate the numeric key section of the

keyboard -> Press the Alt key, and hold it down -> While the Alt key is pressed, type the

sequence of numbers (on the numeric keypad) from the Alt code in the above table ->

Release the Alt key, and the character will appear.





III. How to use relation function from the USB Programmable

Keyboard

File:

Open can select previous file(s), and Save can remember current programmable

keyboard data to a file.

Keyboard:

You can write the current value of USB Programmable Keyboard Program, and the last

input value can be find from read. (*Note: The Program cannot be closed)

Edit:

The built-in program function can be used, then page condition can be changed.

View:

It can exchange between the different pages.

Config:

Beep voice and inter-character delay time can be set up.

MSR:

ISO dual tracks and ISO triple tracks does not specify the direction of swipe card.

JIS card is limited to the leftward movement.

<File>:

“Save” current programmable keyboard data to a file. Or “Open” keyboard data from a file.

<Keyboard>:

“Write” current programmable keyboard data to KB. Or “Read” keyboard data from current

KB.

<Edit>:



The “Edit” menu helps the editing operation like copy, paste or clear the programmed

content of a programmable key. (The “Page” in the selection indicates collection of all key

definitions with the 6 position electronic key turned to a specific position.)

<View>:

The “View” menu switches the programming among pages.

<Config>:

The “Config” menu will pop up a configuration window that determines the keyboard audio

response to key press; Character string transmit speed (“InterCharacter Delay”)





IV. How to test MSR with USB Programmable Keyboard

<MSR>:

MSR related setup, e.g. Leading/ending code, Use ALT-num emulation.



The results are as follows:



When you finish settings, and you can open the Notepad for testing with the card.



Error message

If error message pop please finish your current editing, you should left-click to select Blank

Space. (Note: Please do not choose any item.)



Reading and writing are correct in this picture, and then Program message will disappear in

the picture.
