Introduction The AVC05 S‐Video & Composite to USB Video Capture Cable enables you to capture analog video, as well as the accompanying 2‐channel RCA audio, to your Mac® or Windows® computer, from an S‐Video or Composite video device. This USB video capture Device connects from an S‐Video or Composite/RCA video output device, such as a Beta/VHS VCR, camcorder or PVR to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac® or PC, to provide real‐time MPEG‐1, MPEG‐2 encoding. The analog video capture cable supports a broad range of operating systems, delivering seamless USB video capture for Mac® computers (OS 10.6 +), Windows® 7 computers, as well as older Windows operating systems (XP (32 bits) /Vista (32/64 bits)).

System Requirements • USB 2.0 enabled computer system with available USB port

• Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista(32/64bit)/7(32/64bit) and Apple® Mac OS X® (10.6 +)

• Analog video Source with S‐Video or Composite cabling (DVD, DVR, VCR, etc.)

Hardware Installation 1. Connect the USB type A connector (host) into an available USB 2.0 port on your computer system. 2. Connect your analog video source (DVD, DVR, VCR, Etc.) to the composite or S‐Video input on the AVC05 AV Cable.

NOTE: After you connect the physical hardware to the computer, it is likely that you may receive prompts for installation. Please close these specific prompts as these steps will be performed during software installation.


Driver Installation ‐ Windows®

After Hardware Installation, the “Found New Hardware Wizard” will open. Click “Cancel” to close the window. 1. Insert the included Driver and Software Disk into your DVD‐ROM drive. Run the setup.exe to start driver installation. [CD:\ArcSoft_ShowBiz\Driver\setup.exe]

3. If a Windows Security dialog window appears, click the “Run” or “Install this driver software anyway” option to proceed. 4. Click “Next” to continue driver installation.

5. The software will install all required drivers and settings.

6. Click “Yes, I want to restart my computer now.” to complete the driver installation.

Verifying the Driver Installation Connect the AVC05 USB port to Computer USB 2.0 Port after the driver installation. The Open Device Manager to find the “USB VIDBOX FW Audio” and ”USB2.0 VIDEBOX FW”. Otherwise you need reinstall the driver again.


ArcSoft ShowBiz Installation ‐ Windows® 1. Insert the included CD Driver into your DVD‐ROM drive. Execute the ArcSoft ShowBiz setup.exe file. [Note: Run as an administrator.] [CD:\ArcSoft_ShowBiz\ArcSoft_ShowBiz\setup.exe] 2. Choose the right Language. Click “OK” to begin the installation.

3. Click “Next” to continue ArcSoft installation.

4. Click “Yes” to continue ArcSoft installation.

5. Input the correct License Key of the ArcSoft Showbiz. [Note: The license key is at the back of the CD. Keep your license key in a safe place because we are unable to provide a replacement in case of loss.]

6. After select the “Destination Folder” and “Program Folder”, click “Finish” to end the installation.

7. The Arcsoft ShowBiz icon will be on your desktop (Desktop).


ArcSoftware ShowBiz – Windows OS® The ArcSoft ShowBiz is composed of “Capture”, “Edit”, “Product” Panels. 1. Execute ArcSoftware and go to “Capture” Panel, set the Souce to “USB2.0 VIDBOX FW”.

2. If your source device is connected by RCA cable (Red, Yellow, White). Please set Video Input as “Composite Video”, otherwise please choose “S‐Video.” 3. Set the Audio input on "USB VIDBOX FW Audio". 4. Set the picture size (aspect ratio) on "4:3" or "16:9". 5. Please use "Device Settings" to change the Video Standard to the right one if you have no video or audio.

6. Click the “Capture” to start recording, or click “Stop” to end the recording.


Ezcap VideoCapture Installation –Mac OS X® 1. Insert the included Driver CD. Locate and extract the “ezcap VideoGrabber OX S 1.6.0.pkg”.

2. Click “Continue” to continue install Arcsoft.

3. Next the Installation type screen will identify your operating system and alert you of the required disk space. 4. Input the computer User Name and Password , click “Install Software”.

5. Click “Close”.

6. The application is located in Applications\ezcap VideoCapture.app

7. Run ezcapVideoCapture.app and Serial Number Code will be requested for the first time of running the Software.

8. Verifying the Driver Installation Connect the USB Port of the USB Grabber with MacBook, and click “My Mac” “System Report” “USB” to see if you can find “USB VIDBOX FW Audio”. Otherwise, you have to reinstall the software.


Ezcap VideoCapture Operation – Mac OS X®

1. Connect the USB type A connector (host) into an available USB 2.0 port on your computer system. 2. Connect your analog video source (DVD, DVR, VCR, Etc.) to the composite or S‐Video input on the AVC05 AV Cable. 3. Choose “ezcap VideoGrabber” to enter into the movie preview model.

Note: If you can not find the “ezcap VideoGrabber”, then please check all of the connection. 4. Ezcap VideoCapture

Frequently Asked Questions Q : Can I copy original movies onto my computer using the USB 2.0 Video Capture? A : No, this is illegal. It is piracy to copy a film and then sell or lend it to another person without permission to do so. Q : I want transfer my private VHS to DVD, but it says “Copy‐Right Protected”? A : Please write email to us by: [email protected] Q : Can not install Arcsoft ShowBiz on Windows 10 and get the warning of “IKernel.exe could not be copied to ‘C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32.”

Q : The Registration Code is reported as wrong one. A : Here are some points the users might neglect. 1. All letters are Capital 2. All letters Must be input by English Typing Method 3. Some capital letters are similar, like “V” & “U” 4. “‐” Must be included. This is not like other

License Key, which “‐” is added automatically. Q : The noise is a bit large. A : There are the possibility of getting noise from old DVD machines. Please change the audio jack to other audio port if there are.

If noise still existing, Please change another RCA cable with better quality.

Q : Unable to connect the AVC05 to my VCR / camcorder / DVD player. What can I do? A : When you buy a VCR, camcorder or DVD player you are usually supplied with an RGB lead. This lead has three yellow, red and white connectors at each end, or alternatively it may have these connectors at one end and a Scart jack at the other end. Q : The driver and software are installed correctly, but can not get video signal. A : Switch to Capture Panel and go Device Settings Video Decoder Video Standard to choose the right Video Standard.

Q : If you have a 'mono' camcorder, when you connect it up you may get no audio whatsoever. Must I have a stereo camcorder? A : The USB 2.0 Video Capture can work with a 'mono' camcorder. Q : Can you see what you are recording? A : A small window is found at the top of the screen to show what you are recording. Q : Can the USB 2.0 Video Capture be used to record videos from other devices such as a Sky box or straight from a television, or anything along those lines? A : Yes it can. As long as the device you wish to record from has the relevant outputs required (Red, White and Yellow phono video lead). These must be outputs and not inputs otherwise it will not work. Please check the device’s manual first to see whether your device has the outputs needed. Q : Is the USB 2.0 Video Capture compatible with the old style video 8mm camcorders? A : Yes it is. You will have to by a connection lead. You may require an RGB lead.
