San Buenaventura Residence Hall is located along the northern slope of the University of San Diego, overlooking Mission Bay in San Diego and surrounded by mature trees and lush landscaping. The new building blends in seamlessly with the Spanish Renaissance Revival architectural style, of which the campus is known for. The project provides 72 apartment style units in one bedroom/one bath, two bedroom/two bath and four bedroom/two bath configurations. A living room, dining area and full kitchen are included in each floor plan. The four- story building is built on an existing site that replaced older, lower density student apartment buildings. San Buenaventura is served by three elevators and provides a complete amenity package including a fully appointed laundry room, four student lounges, conferencing facilities, and housing-specific storage rooms. The building is designed so that four new courtyards are created around the building, each one serving multiple student activities. The largest courtyard serves as a pedestrian link and outdoor sitting area for a wholesome student café and an instructional fitness center, located adjacent to the housing. The smaller courtyards offer the students the opportunity to take advantage of the mild climate as they experience the total learning environment fostered by the University of San Diego.
