If a shirt is light, but has darker designs on it, you should probably justkeep it !ith the lights. "he same goes for dark clothes !ith light designs.

  2  heck the tags. #ome clothes are made of thin fabrics or have delicatepatterns !oven into them6 these clothes should not be !ashed in the !ashingmachine. 3ost clothes are 78 to machine !ash, but if you are unsure, check thetag to see if it says +hand !ash only+ or +dry clean only+ and set these clothesaside.

  %  #et the !ater temperature. If you are !ashing cotton or very dirty clothes, youmight !ant to use hot or !arm !ater. If you are !ashing things like silk, then you

should keep the !ater temperature luke!arm to cool.

  (  #et the time. $ lot of !ashing machines do this automatically, but you mayhave to do it by hand. 4ou should set the time for about an hour to an hour and ahalf, depending on ho! dirty the clothes you are !ashing are.
