    SKIMMING

    We can use WH-question to help student to get an

    overall picture about the text.

    Alert student about the purpose of certain type of

    text.

    Eg :

    - What is the text about?

    - What is the purpose of this type of text?

    (i.e. to provide information, to recount an event, to

    explain).

    SCANNING

    It can develop your student ability to locate

    specific information in a text.

    E.g.: How many cars are there?

    It can improve your student understanding of

    main details, usually factual information.

    - eg: which one is Halim favourite food?

    Sentence completion require your students to fillin a gap with up to three words and/ or a number

    from passage. Student have to scanning reading

    passage to find the words.
