Introduction.
Thank you for supporting the development of the new Used Car Hub and Website,
exclusive to SIMI members. Your input and feedback over the last few months has
been invaluable. The good news is that www.beepbeep.ie is now live. We promised
the site would be live for early January 2010 but we have been able to get a sneak
preview ready for all subscribers. The site is still in “beta” which means that although
we are releasing it, there still might be some small changes or bug fixes over the
coming days. You can help by sending any feedback or issues you come across to
So what’s new on the dealer hub?
Firstly, we now refer to the hub as the SIMI Control Panel as it better reflects the
current and future purpose of the site. The Control Panel is where you manage and
view your stock before it appears to the consumer on www.beepbeep.ie.
Figure 1 : SIMI Control Panel Home Page
Once you log in to the SIMI Control Panel you will notice the new front page layout.
We will be highlighting new features here as they arrive as well as displaying up to
date industry news.
There are a number of new features which you may not have noticed before but there
are two key areas that require your attention.
Most importantly, make sure your contact details, map location and
warranty information is up to date and correct.
Then make sure all your stock is loaded!

Useful Tips for using the SIMI Control Panel
On the main “My Adverts” section you can now upload 40 images per vehicle and a
video! This may be a great way to highlight a particular prestige car on
www.beepbeep.ie. We can help you with the details of uploading video and there
will be examples on the site so you can see how effective it is.
The main “My Advert” screen gives you a quick summary of your on-line stock.
Please note the coloured icons in the Car History Check (CHC) column. These
indicate if the vehicle has passed a Car History Check (Green), Failed a CHC (Red), or
has yet to be checked (Grey).
Figure 2 Car History Check Messages
A Car will fail the Car History Check if it is recorded as any of the following
UK Scrapped UK Written Off UK Stolen DOT Vehicle Status
If the vehicle is recorded as an import or registered as a Taxi, the information will be displayed on beepbeep.ie.
There is no check on finance status. You should login to the Car History Check site to access this functionality.
There is currently no automatic check on recorded mileage but please ensure that you enter accurate readings.
Every vehicle on beepbeep.ie must come with some level of warranty and you must select the most appropriate. Depending on the dealership you will have some or all of the available options. The selected warranty message will be displayed to the consumer on beepbeep.ie. Dealer Warranty refers to a warranty give by the dealership. You can enter
a default warranty message in “Business Details” and this will be displayed automatically. Please ensure that you have an accurate description of the warranty available on each individual car.
Figure 3 Warranty Options
User Guide
beepbeep.ie user guide version 1.1 23/12/2009 4
Manufacturer Warranty refers to the remainder of the manufacturer warranty on new vehicles and is dependent on the date of first registration of the vehicle.
Manufacturer Approved Scheme refers to a dealer warranty that is part of an Approved Scheme such as Nissan Gold Standard, Opel Network Q etc.
Check with Dealer is the default option if none is selected.
Every vehicle on www.beepbeep.ie must be a retail car. No scrap or trade cars. No
cars to be broken up for parts. No cars “sold as seen”. No cars with a retail price of
less than €1000. You can of course load these types of vehicles to have them sent
to other publishers or to the Trade Section. They just cannot appear on
www.beepbeep.ie. The administrators will remove these cars from the site and
notify you so you amend or delete the listing.
Any car entered into the Control Panel without a price will be listed as “POA” and
will appear at the end of any list on www.beepbeep.ie.
If you select “display in trade section?” it will appear on the trade section of the SIMI
Control Panel. You can enter a trade price which is only visible in the trade section.
If you enter No retail price, the car will not appear on www.beepbeep.ie

The Consumer Site www.beepbeep.ie
www.beepbeep.ie is a consumer focused used car website which has been designed
to make it simple and quick for users to search for and find your cars. It is important
that you give your stock the best chance of being found and selected by uploading a
large number of high quality images. You should have received in the post a quick
guide to taking images of cars for the Internet.
Your stock will be more prominent and list higher in searches if you assign the correct
warranty details.
Select the best picture of the car to be the first picture. Do this is in the “My Adverts”
section of the SIMI Control Panel by selecting the best picture and moving it to the
first position using the Left- Right Arrows. This is putting your best foot forward as it is
the first thing a consumer sees.
