TheAmberMobilityappisavailableforiPhonesusingiOS10orhigher,andforAndroiddevicesusingAndroid4.3orhigher.Withtheapp,userscanlogintotheiraccount,reserveacar,andlockandunlocktheir reserved car.

Logging inThefirsttimeyouopentheapp,aloginscreenappears.Here,youcanentertheemailaddressandpass-wordyouusedtoregisterfortheservice.Theappstoresthisinformationsothatyouwon’thavetologineverytimeyouusetheapp.Ifyou’veforgottenyourpassword,youcanclickonthelink“Forgot your password?” to reset it.

Assoonasyou’reloggedin,youcanchoosefromfivedifferentoptionsonthemainmenuscreen:Reser-vations, Reserve a car, My trip, Profile,andOther.

ReservationsInthefirstoptionReservationsyou’llseeanoverviewofallyourupcomingreservations.Eachreservationhasaname,destination,andstartandendtime.Totheleftofthereservationyouwillalsobeabletoseeatwhattimethecarwillbeavailableforyou.Thecarwillalwaysbeavailable15minutesbeforethestarttimeofyourreservation.ClickingonanindividualreservationwillrevealEdit and Deletebuttons,whichyoucanusetochangeorcancelyourreservation.

Reserving a car You can use the Reserve a carfunctiontomakeareservation.Reservingacarcanbedoneintwodiffe-rentways:Youcanenterareservationmanually,oryoucanconnectyourcalendartotheappandmakeareservation for an exisitng appointment.

Calendar reservationsTomakeacalendarreservation,clickontheCalendartab,andclickonanexistingappointmentinyourcalendar.Then,enterthelocationoftheappointment,andtheappwillusethistocalculatethedrivingtimetotheappointment.Assoonasyou’vefilledinallthenecessaryinformation,clickonDoneatthetop right of the screen.

Ifyou’dliketotakeacarhomewithyouintheevening,eitherbeforeorafteranappointment,thenyou’llneedtomakeamanualreservation.

Manual reservationsYoucanmakeamanualreservationbyclickingontheManualtab.Inthismenuyoucanfillinthestarttime(thetimeatwhichyouwanttoleaveforyourappointment),theendtime,andthelocationoftheappointment.Youcanalsogiveyourappointmentaname.

Ifyou’dliketotakeacarhomewithyouintheevening,thenyoucanmakeamanualreservationthatstartsonthedayyou’dliketotakethecarhome,andendswhenyoubringitbacktoworkthenextday.Assoonasyou’vefilledinallthenecessaryinformaiton,clickDoneatthetoprightofthescreen.

My tripThe My tripscreenistheapp’smainscreen,thatyou’lluseduringareservation.Ifyoudon’thaveanyrunningreservations,thescreenwillbeblank.Ifyou’vegotarunningreservation,youwillseeamapwithyourlocationaswellasthelocationofyourreservedcar.

By swiping upwards on the the My carscreen,youcanseeinformationaboutyourreservedcar.Thisin-formationincludesthelicenseplatenumber,theremainingbatterylevel,andwhetherthecarislockedorunlocked.TheUnlock/Lockbuttonservesasthecar’skey–usingthisbuttonyoucanlockandunlockthecar,whilestandingwithin~10metersofthecar.

AdditionalinformationontheMy carscreenincludesthedurationofyourreservationsofar,andthedistancetraveledonthecurrentreservation.

Whenyou’vecompletedyourtrip,endthereservationbyclickingEnd at the top right of the screen. The appwillonlyallowyoutoendyourreservationonceyou’veparkedthecarinanAmberparkingspaceandturnedthecaroff.

CAUTION: If you end your reservation you will no longer have access to that car!

Afterendingyourreservationafeedbackscreenwillpopup,inwhichyou’llbeaskedifyouweresatisfiedwiththereservationandthetrip.Youcanalsoleavemorecommentsifdesired.

ProfileOn the Profilescreen,youcanfindanoverviewofallthetripsyou’vemadewithAmber,inchronologicalorder.Foreveryreservationyou’llseethedetailsoftheappointment,theactualdurationofthereserva-tion(inminutes),andthedistancetraveled.YoucanalsologoutoftheappatthetoprightoftheProfile screen.

OtherOnthelastscreenyou’llfindabriefoverviewofthemostfrequentlyaskedquestions(FAQs),aswellasthepossibilitytosendanemailwithyourquestionorfeedback.Forurgentquestionsorproblems,youcanalsocalltheAmberHelpDeskbyclickingonCall helpdesk.

AmberusestheBMWi3,afully-electric4-seaterhatchback.Thebatteryrangeofthecarisbetween200and240kilometers,dependingonthedrivingstyle.Thetopspeedofthecaris150km/h.Allcarsareequippedwithairconditioning,electricbrakes,parkingsensorsinfrontandback,abackupcamera(re-versingcamera),aninfotainmentsystemwithAUXandUSBinterface,andaBluetoothphoneconnection.AllcarsarealsoequippedwithvarioussafetysystemssuchasABS(anti-lockbrakes),electronicstabilitycontrol,andatractioncontrolsystem.

Starting the carTostartthecar,holdthebrakepedalandpresstheSTART/STOPbuttononthe“driveselector”handletotherightbehindthesteeringwheel.Thisengagestheelectricmotor.Youwillhearasoundsignalandtheword“READY”willappearonthedashboardscreen.

CAUTION: IfyoupresstheSTART/STOPbuttonwithoutpushingsimultaneouslyonthebrakepedal,onlythecar’sdahboardwillbeengaged,andtheelectricmotorwillnotbeconnected.

Changing gearsUsethe“driveselector”handletotherightbehindthesteeringwheeltoselectadrivingmode:Park,Neu-tral,Drive,orReverse.Thebrakepedalmustbepushedin,inordertochangebetweendrivingmodes.

Drive (D)Todriveforwardstiltthedriveselectortowardsthedashboard,whileholdingthebrakepedal,untiltheletterDisilluminated.Pressingtheacceleratorpedalautomaticallydisengagesthehandbrake,andyouarefreetodriveoff.Thereisnoneedtochangegearstogofaster–thecarworksjustlikeanautomatictransmission car.

Reverse (R)Togointoreversemode,holdthebrakepedalandtiltthedriveselectortowardsyou,untiltheletterRisilluminated.Theparkingsensorswillbeactivatedandyouwillbeabletoseetheimagefromthebackupcameraonthedashboarddisplay.Thecarisnowreadytodrivebackwards.

Park (P)Afterparkingthecar,holdthebrakepedalandpresstheP-buttonontopofthedriveselectorlever.TheletterPwillbeilluminatedandthehandbrakeisautomaticallyengaged.Youcannowreleasethebrakepedal.

Parking the carAfterparkingthecar,whetheratanappointmentorattheendofyoureservation,pleasefollowthesesteps:- PresstheSTART/STOPbuttonwhileholdingthebrakepedal.Thecarwilldisengageandenter theParkmode(P)- Engagethehandbrakebypullingupwardsonthebuttoninthemiddleconsole.- Connectthecartoachargingstationifpossible.- Makesurealldoorsandwindowsareclosed,thenopentheAmberMobilityapp.- ClickontheLockbuttonintheMy tripmenu.Thecarwillnowlockitself.Makesurethatalldoors arelockedbeforewalkingaway.

Toendyourreservation,clickonEnd in the top right corner of the My trip menu. If you want to keep your reservationactive,simplyclosetheAmberMobilityapp.

Dashboard controlsAllcarfunctionscanbeaccessedviatheiDrivebuttonsbetweenthefrontseats.Manyfunctionscanalsobeaccessedviathebuttonsonthesteeringwheel.

Electric drivingElectricdrivingissomewhatdifferentthandrivinginaconventionalfuel-poweredcar.Thefollowingarethemostimportantdifferences:

Regenerative brakingReleasingtheacceleratorinanelectriccarmakesthecarautomaticallybrake,whichthenchargesthebattery.Thisiscalled“regenerativebraking”,andismoreefficient,especiallyinurbanenvironments.Thismeansthatinmostsituations,youwon’thavetousethebrakepedal.

Limited range and ECO PROElectriccarsunfortunatelydon’tyethavethesamerangecapacityasfuel-poweredcars.TheAmberMo-bilityappalwayskeepstrackofthedistanceyouneedtotravelandthebatterylevelofthecar.However,ifyoustillthinkyoumightnotreachyourdestinationwiththeremainingbatterylevelofthecar,youcanputthecarinECOPROorECOPRO+mode,usingthebuttonstotherightofthedriver’sseat.Theenergyusageofthecarismuchlessinthesetwodrivingmodes,andthebatteryrangeofthecarwillincrease.

Charging the carIntheAmberservice,thecarsareusedintensivelyeveryday,whichmeansthatit’sextremelyimportanttochargethecarswheneverpossible.Weaskyoutoalwaysparkthecaratachargingstationwheneverpossible.

Finding a charging stationAneasywaytofindchargingstationsintheNetherlandsistousetheNewMotionapp(availablefordownloadoniOSandAndroid).Inthisapp,youcanfindallpublicchargingstations.Beforeyouchooseachargingstation,youmustfirstfilterthestationsbasedontypeofchargingplug.Intheapp,clickonthefunneliconinthetoprightcornerandselectthetypeofplugType 2 – Mennekes en Combo.NowthemapwillonlyshowthechargingstationssuitablefortheBMWi3.

Themaximumcapacity(inkilowatthours–kW)ofeachchargingstationismarkedintheinformationaboutthestation.Thehigherthecapacityofthestation,thefasterthecarwillcharge.Thetablebelowgivesanindicationofthetimeittakestochargethecar.Thelast20%ofcharginggoesslowerbecausethechargingstationslowlystopsuntilthecarisfullycharged.

Charging the carAfterparkingthecaratachargingstation,pleasefollowtheseintructionstostartthechargingsession:

- Retrievethechargingcardfromthecardholderinthecar’sglovecompartment.- Retrievethechargingcablefromthetrunkofthecar.- Connectthecable:thesmallerendtothechargingstationandthelargerendtothecar.Thecar’s cableconnectioncanbefoundonthebackrigh-handsideofthecar,andlookslikeafueltank cap.Toopenthecompartment,simplypressthecap.- Holdthechargingcardinfrontofthecardreaderonthechargingstationuntilthecharging station reacts and the charging session starts. - Placethechargingcardbackinthecardholderintheglovecompartmentandclosethecar, lockingitwiththeapp.

You can track the car’s charging process via the My trip menu in the app. To disconnect the car from the chargingstationandendthechargingsession,simplyfollowtheaboveinstructionsinreverseorder.Firstplacethechargingcardinfrontofthecardreaderonthechargingstation,thendisconnectthecable.Duringthechargingsession,thecableislockedinplaceatbothends.
