Safety

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL BEFORE USING

Inside you will find many helpful hints on how to use and maintain your air conditioner properly. A little preventive care on your part can save you a great deal of time and money over the life of your air conditioner. The troubleshooting tips on page 31 will provide answers to many common problems. If you review the chart first, you may not need to call for service at all.

To prevent injury and property damage, the following instructions must be followed. Incorrect operation due to ignoring instructions may cause harm or damage.

WARNING - For Your Safety

• Use only for the intended purpose.

• Use caution when unpacking and installing. Sharp edges could cause injury.

• Contact an authorized installer for installation of this unit if needed.

• The appliance must be installed in accordance with national wiring standards.

• This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable/combustible vapors/liquids/materials in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.

• Keep firearms away. They may cause a fire.

• Do not direct airflow directly at room occupants. This can harm their health.

• Do not operate your air conditioner in a “wet” room, such as a bathroom or laundry room.

• Do not use strong detergent, wax, water or paint thinner to clean.

• Always insert filter securely and clean filter once a month. Operating without filters may cause the unit to fail.

WARNING - To Prevent Accidents

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury when using your air conditioner, follow these basic precautions:

• Be sure the location for the air conditioner meets the electrical requirements for the model you have chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate, which is located on the side of the cabinet and behind the grill.

• If the window is a triple-track type with a screen panel included, remove the screen completely before installation.

• Be sure the air conditioner has been securely and correctly installed according to the installation instructions in this manual. Save this manual for possible future use in removing or installing this unit.

• When handling the air conditioner, be careful to avoid cuts from the sharp metal on the front and rear coils.

• Do not operate with wet hands or in a damp environment. This may cause electrical shock.

• Unplug the unit if strange sounds, smells or smoke comes out of it. It may cause fire and electrical shock.

• Do not open the unit during operation. It may cause electrical shock.

• Do not use the power cord close to heating appliances. It may cause fire and electrical shock.

• Do not use the power cord near combustible materials, gasoline, or other flammable vapors or liquids. It may cause an explosion or fire.

• Ventilate the room before operating the air conditioner if there is a gas leak from another appliance. It may cause an explosion, fire, and/or burns.

• Do not disassemble or modify the unit. It may cause unit failure or electrical shock.

• When removing air filter, do not touch the metal parts of the unit. This may cause injury.

• Do not expose a pet or house plants to direct airflow. This could injure the pet or plant.

• Ventilate the room well when used together with a stove, etc.

• Do not clean the unit with water, which might enter the unit and ruin the insulation or cause an electrical shock.

• If water enters the unit, turn the unit off at the power outlet and turn off the circuit breaker. Pull the plug and contact a qualified service technician.

• Stop operation and close the window in hurricanes or other violent weather conditions.

Safety

• Hold the head of the power cord when unplugging it. Do not pull on the cord. It may cause electrical shock or damage.

• Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Make sure that the cord is not compressed. There is danger of a fire or electrical shock.

• Do not drink drained water from the unit. It contains contaminants that can make you sick.

• Before cleaning the unit, turn it and the circuit breaker off. Do not clean it while the power is on. This may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.

• Make sure there are no obstacles around air inlets or inside air outlets. This may cause unit to fail or cause an accident.

• Ensure that the installation bracket of the outdoor part of the appliance is not damaged due to prolonged exposure to the elements. If the bracket is damaged the unit may fall.

• Turn off the main power switch when not using the unit for an extended time. It may cause unit failure or fire.

WARNING - Electrical Information

Note: The power supply cord with this air conditioner contains a current sensor designed to reduce the risk of fire. Please refer to the operation of the current sensor section for details. In the event that the power supply cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired. It must be replaced by a qualified technician.

• The electrical rating of your new room air conditioner is listed on the serial plate. Refer to the rating when checking the electrical requirements.

• Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.

• Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall outlet. If the wall outlet you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper outlet. Make sure the outlet is accessible after the unit is installed.

• Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug with the unit.

• Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third grounding prong from the power cord plug.

• Do not operate or stop the unit by inserting or pulling on the power cord. This may cause electrical shock or fire.

• Always install the circuit breaker and a dedicated power circuit. Incorrect installation may cause fire and electrical shock.

• Do not allow water to run into electrical parts. It may cause failure of the unit or an electrical shock.

• Do not modify the power cord length or share the outlet with other appliances. Doing so may cause electrical shock or fire.

Current sensor and disposal

The power supply cord contains a current sensor for your safety. To test your power supply cord, do the following:

1. Plug in the air conditioner.

2. The power supply cord will have two buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.

3. Press the RESET button. You will again notice a click as the button engages.

4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit.

NOTE: Do not use the current sensor to turn the unit on or off. Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation.

The power cord must be replaced if it fails to reset either when the TEST button is pushed or it cannot be reset. If the power cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired. It must be replaced by a qualified technician.

Disposal It is illegal to take your air conditioner to a landfill with the rest of your trash. Check with your town/state regarding the legal way to dispose of your air conditioner.

Installation

Before you begin:

Read these instructions completely and carefully.

IMPORTANT - Save these instructions for future reference.

IMPORTANT - Observe all appropriate codes and ordinances.

Note to installer - Be sure to leave these instructions with the customer.

Skill level - Installation of this appliance requires basic mechanical skills and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Completion time - Approximately 1 hour.

We recommend that two people install this product together. Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer. Product failure due to improper installation is not covered under the warranty. You must use all supplied parts and use proper installation procedures as described in these instructions when installing this air conditioner.

Window requirements:

Your air conditioner is designed to be installed in standard double hung windows with openings of 23 to 36 in. wide (584 to 914mm).

Tools you will need for installation:Phillips-head screwdriverLevelFlat-head screwdriver

Save the carton and these installation instructions for future reference. The carton is the best way to store the unit during winter or when not in use.

1. PREPARE THE WINDOW

The lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 13 inches (330mm). Side vents and the rear of the AC unit must have clear air space to allow enough airflow through the condenser for heat removal. The rear of the unit must be outdoors, not inside a building or garage.

2. PREPARE THE AIR CONDITIONER

A: Remove the air conditioner from the carton and place it on a flat surface.

B: Remove the top rail from the packaging material.

C: Align the holes in the top rail with those on the top of the unit (Fig. A).

D: Secure the top rail to the unit with the 3/8” screws (Fig. B).

NOTE: For safety reasons, all four (4) screws MUST be used for secure fastening.

3. INSTALL THE ACCORDION PANELS

NOTE: The top rail and sliding panels at each side are offset to provide the proper pitch to the rear of 5/16 in. (7.9mm). This is necessary for proper condensed water drainage. If you are not using the accordion panels for any reason, this pitch to the rear must be maintained.

A. Place the unit on the floor, a bench or a table. Hold the accordion panel in one hand and gently pull the center to extend the panel as needed (Fig. 1).

B. Slide the free end of the “Ⅰ” section of the panel directly into the cabinet as shown in Fig. 2. Slide the panel down. Be sure to leave enough space to slip the top and bottom of the frame into the rails on the cabinet.

C. Once the panel has been installed on the side of the cabinet, make sure it sits securely inside the frame channel by making slight adjustments as needed. Slide the top and bottom ends of the accordion frame into the top and bottom rails of the cabinet (Fig. 3).

D. Slide the panel all the way in and repeat on the other side (Fig. 4).

NOTE: If a storm window is blocking the air conditioner, see Fig. 11.

4. SECURE THE ACCORDION PANELS

A. With a firm grip on the air conditioner, carefully place the unit into the window opening so the bottom of the air conditioner frame is against the window sill (Fig.5). Carefully close the window behind the top rail of the unit.

NOTE: Check that the air conditioner is tilted back about 5/8” to 3/4” (15.8 to 19mm) downward to the outside. With proper installation, condensation should not drain from the overflow drain hole during normal use. If it is, increase the slope.

B. Extend the accordion panels out against the window frame (Fig.6).

5. INSTALL THE SUPPORT BRACKET

A. Place the frame lock between the frame extensions and the window sill as shown in Fig.7. Drive 3/4” (19mm) or 1/2” (12.7mm) locking screws through the frame lock and into the sill.

B. Drive 3/4” (19mm) or 1/2” (12.7mm) locking screws through the frame holes into the window sash. (Fig.8).

NOTE: To prevent the window sill from splitting, drill 1/8” (3mm) pilot holes before driving in the screws.

C. To secure the lower sash in place, attach the right angle sash lock with 3/4” (19mm) or 1/2” (12.7mm) screws as shown (Fig.9).

D. Cut the window sash seal foam to the appropriate size and insert it in the space between the upper and lower sashes (Fig.10).

If air conditioner is blocked by storm window

Add wood as shown in (Fig. 11), or remove storm window before air conditioner is installed. If storm window frame must remain, be sure the drain holes are not caulked or painted shut. Accumulated rain water or condensation must be allowed to drain out.

Removing air conditioner from window

• Turn air conditioner off, and disconnect power cord.

• Remove sash seal from between windows and unscrew safety sash lock.

• Remove screws installed through frame and frame lock.

• Keeping a firm grip on the air conditioner, raise sash and carefully remove.

• Be careful not to spill any remaining water while lifting unit from window. Store parts with air conditioner.

• Be sure to drain excess water from unit before storing.

Displays

Digital display shows the temperature and the Auto timer settings. Fan Only mode shows the room temperature. Temperatures displayed in OF.

Error Codes:

AS - Room Temperature sensor error. Unplug the unit and wait 3 minutes before you plug it back in. Note: in Fan Only mode, it will display “LO” or “HI.”

• - Evaporator temperature sensor error. Unplug the unit and wait 3 minutes before you plug it back in. Note: “•” is displayed in the unit controls (Fig. 12).

Operating modes

To turn unit on or off:

Press ON/OFF button to turn unit on or off.

Note: The unit will automatically initiate the Energy Saver mode under COOL, DRY and AUTO modes.

To change the temperature setting:

Press DOWN/UP button to change temperature setting. Note: Press/hold either button until desired temperature is seen on the display. This temperature will be automatically maintained. Push DOWN/UP button together for 3 seconds to alternate the temperature display between Farenheit and Celcius.

To adjust fan speeds:

Press FAN button to select the fan speed – Auto, Low, Medium or High. Each time the button is pressed, the fan speed mode is shifted. On Dry mode, the fan speed is controlled at Low automatically.

Sleep feature:

Press SLEEP button to initiate this feature when the setting is at Auto/Cool mode only. In this mode the selected temperature will increase or decrease by 2 °F (1 °C) over the next 30 minutes and by another 2 °F (1 °C) after additional 30 minutes. The new temperature will be maintained for 6 hours before it returns to the originally selected temperature. This ends the Sleep mode and the unit will continue to operate as originally programmed. The Sleep mode program can be canceled at any time during operation by pressing the SLEEp button again.

Check filter feature:

Press CHECk FILTER button to initiate this feature. This feature is a reminder to clean the air filter for more efficient operation. The LED light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation. To reset after cleaning the filter, press the CHECk FILTER button and the light will go off.

Energy Saver feature:

Press ENERGy SAvER button to initiate this feature. This function is available on Cool, Dry, Auto modes. The fan will continue to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off. The fan then cycles on for 2 minutes, at 10-minute intervals, until the room temperature is above the set temperature, at which time the compressor turns back on and cooling starts.

Operating modes

To select the Operating mode:

To choose Operating mode, press MODE button. Each time you press the MODE button, a mode is selected in a sequence that goes from Auto, Cool, Dry and Fan. The indicator light beside each will be illuminated and remain on once the mode is selected. The unit will automatically initiate the Energy Saver function under Cool, Dry and Auto modes.

To operate on Auto feature:

When you set the air conditioner in Auto mode, it will automatically select Cooling or Fan Only, depending on what temperature you have selected and the room temperature.

The air conditioner will control room temperature automatically to the temperature point set by you. In this mode, the fan speed cannot be adjusted; it starts automatically at a speed according to the room temperature.

To operate on Fan Only:

Use this function only when Cooling is not desired, such as for room air circulation or to remove stale air. Remember to open the vent during this function, but keep it closed during Cooling for maximum cooling efficiency. You can choose any fan speed you prefer.

During this function, the display will show the actual room temperature, not the set temperature as in the Cooling mode. In Fan Only mode, the temperature is not adjusted.

To operate on Dry mode:

In this mode, the air conditioner will generally operate as a dehumidifier. If the air conditioned space is a closed or sealed area, some degree of cooling will occur.

Timer: Auto Start/Stop feature:

When the unit is on or off, first press TIMER button. The TIMER ON indicator light will illuminate. It indicates the Auto Start program is initiated.

When the time of TIMER ON is displayed, press the TIMER button again. The TIMER OFF indicator light illuminates. This indicates the Auto Stop program is initiated.

Press or hold the Up or DOWN button to change the Auto time by half-hour increments, up to 10 hours, then at 1-hour increments, up to 24 hours. The control will count down the time remaining until start.

The selected time will register in 5 seconds, and the system will automatically revert back to display the previous temperature setting or room temperature when the unit is on. When the unit is off, there is no display.

Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time, or adjusting the timer setting to 0.0 will cancel the Auto Start/Stop timed program.

WARNING - To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury, read the important safety instructions before operating this appliance.

CAUTION - Always wait 3 minutes when turning the unit off then on again, and when changing from Cool to Fan and back to Cool. This prevents the compressor from over-heating and the possibility of the circuit breaker tripping.

To begin operating the air conditioner, follow these steps:1. Set the thermostat to the coolest number.

2. Set the selector control to the highest Cool setting.

3. Adjust the louvers for comfortable airflow by using the lever.

4. Once the room has cooled, adjust the thermostat to the setting you find most comfortable.

5. Make sure that the airflow inside and outside are not obstructed. The lever will allow you to direct the airflow toward the left or right throughout the room as needed. Move the lever from side to side until the desired left/right direction is achieved.

Additional things you should know:

Now that you are familiar with the operating procedure, here are a few more features that you should know:

• The cooling circuit has an automatic 3-minute time delay start if the unit is turned off and on too quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. The fan will continue to run during this time.

1 ON/OFF button

Press ON/OFF button to turn unit on or off.

Note: The unit will automatically initiate the Energy Saver mode under COOL, DRY and AUTO modes.

2 MODE button

Each time you push the button, a mode is selected in the following sequence: AUTO, COOL, DRY and FAN.

3 ENERGY SAvER button

Press ENERGy SAvER button to initiate this function. This function is available on COOL, DRY, AUTO modes. The fan will continue to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off. The fan then cycles on for 2 minutes, at 10-minute intervals, until the room temperature is above the set temperature, at which time the compressor turns back on and cooling starts.

4 TEMP/TIME adjustment button

Push the button to increase the indoor temperature setting or to adjust the TIMER in a clockwise direction. Push the button to decrease the indoor temperature setting or to adjust the TIMER in a counter-clockwise direction. Push button together for 3 seconds to alternate the temperature display between Farenheit and Celcius.

5 SLEEP button

Press SLEEp button to initiate the Sleep mode. In this mode the selected temperature will increase or decrease by 2 °F (1 °C) over the next 30 minutes and by another 2 °F (1 °C) after additional 30 minutes. The new temperature will be maintained for 6 hours before it returns to the originally selected temperature. This ends the Sleep mode and the unit will continue to operate as originally programmed. The Sleep mode program can be canceled at any time during operation by pressing the SLEEp button again.

6 RESET button:

When you press the recessed RESET button, all current settings are canceled and the control will return to the initial settings. To press RESET button, please use a small pin or paper clip.

7 FAN button:

Used to select the fan speed - AUTO, LOW, MED or HIGH. Each time the button is pressed, the fan speed mode is shifted.

8 TIMER button:

This button is used to set the time ON (start to operate) and the time OFF (cease to operate).

9 CANCEL button:

If the TIMER OFF has been set, pressing the CANCEL button will cancel the timer off setting and turn on the unit.

If no Timer feature has been set, pressing the CANCEL button will do nothing.

10 CLOCK button:

Use to set the time.

11 LED button:

Pressing this button will clear the digital display in the air conditioner, press it again to activate.

12 LOCK button:

Pressing the LOCK button will lock all current settings and the remote control will not accept any operation except those that have been locked. Press again to cancel LOCK mode. To press LOCK button, please use a small pin or paper clip.

Remote control indicators

Remote control indicatorsTransmission indicator lights when remote control transmits signals to the indoor unit.

Mode display shows the current operation mode, including AUTO, COOL, DRY and FAN ONLY.

ON/OFF display will display by pressing the ON/OFF button. Press again to remove.

Temp. display will display the temperature setting 62 - 86 oF (17 - 30 oC). When you set to FAN ONLY, no temperature setting is displayed.

Time display indicates Timer on/off time (0-24 hours) or clock time. The clock time is indicated only when no AUTO-ON/OFF timer is set. When AUTO-TIMER feature is operating, it displays the AUTO-ON/OFF time. To check the current time, press the CLOCK button and the time will display.

Lock display will display by pressing the LOCK button. Press the LOCK button again to remove.

Fan speed display will display the selected fan speed. AUTO and 3 fan speed levels:

LOWMEDHIGH

Displays AUTO when the operating mode is either AUTO or DRY.

Sleep display will display by pressing the SLEEP button. Press the SLEEP button again to remove.

Setting the clock

Setting the clock

Before you start operating the air conditioner, set the clock of the remote control using the steps below. The clock panel on the remote control will display the time regardless of whether the air conditioner is in use or not.

Initial setting of the clock

After batteries are inserted in the remote control, the clock panel will display “12:00”. Press and hold the CLOCk button for 3 seconds, the time will begin to flash.

1. TEMP/TIME adjust button: press this button to set the time. Forward Backward Each time you press the button, the time moves forward or backward by one minute, depending on which button you press. The time alters as quickly as you push the button. Press and hold the TEMP/TIME button, the time moves forward (or backward) by 10 minute intervals.

2. CLOCK button: when the correct time is achieved, press the CLOCK button or release the FORWARD/BACKWARD button and wait 5 seconds. The clock time will stop flashing and the clock will start operating.

Readjusting the clock: press the CLOCk button on the remove control for about 3 seconds. The clock display time will start to flash. To set the new time, follow steps 1 and 2 above.

NOTE: the time of the CLOCk must be set before the AUTO-TIMER feature will operate. If you readjust the time of the clock after setting the AUTO-ON/OFF timer, the remote control will send the readjusted timer information to the unit.

Clock accuracy is with 15 seconds per day.

CAUTION: Static electricity or other factors (in case of extremely high voltage) can cause remote control clock to initialize. If your remote control is initialized (flashing 12:00), readjust the clock before you start operation.

Automatic operation

Automatic operation

When you set the air conditioner to AUTO mode, it will automatically select Cooling or Fan Only operation, depending on what temperature you have selected and the room temperature.

Once you select the operating mode, the oper-ating conditions are saved in the unit’s memory. Thereafter, the air conditioner will start operating under the same conditions when you simply push the ON/OFF button of the remote control.

Start: Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available. The operation light on the display panel of the unit will light up.

1. Press MODE select button. Press to select AUTO.

2. TEMP/TIME button: Set the desired temperature, typically between 62-86 oF (17-30 oC).

3. ON/OFF button: When the air conditioner is off, push this button to start it.

Stop: Press the ON/OFF button again to stop the air conditioner. If the AUTO mode is uncomfortable, you can select the desired conditions manually. When you select the AUTO mode, you do not have to set the fan speed. The fan speed will be automatically controlled.

Timer operation

1. Press TIMER button; the remote displays “0.0” alongside the TIMER ON or TIMER OFF light, and will flash.

2. TEMP/TIME button: press to set the desired time. Up Down Press or hold the or button to change the auto time by 1/2 hour increments, up to 10 hours, then at 1 hour increments up to 24 hours. The selected time will register within 3 seconds after setting.

3. After setting the timer for TIMER ON and TIMER OFF, check the TIMER light on the display panel. Make sure it is illuminated.

Cancel: Press the CANCEL button to cancel the timer setting.

Changing: Perform steps 1, 2 and 3 to change the settings.

TIMER ON: (timer start operation) The TIMER ON feature is useful when you want the unit to turn on automatically (for example: before you return home). The air conditioner will automatically start operating at the set time.

Important: The time will be registered within a 3 second period (after pressing the TEMP/TIME button), so you should continue pressing the button until the desired time is set. Otherwise you must repeat the steps again.

Example: To start the air conditioner in 8 hours:

1. Press the TIMER button, the TIMER ON light is displayed and the setting time beside is flashing.

2. Use the TEMP/TIME button to display “8.0” beside the TIMER ON display of the remote control.

3. Wait 3 seconds after the setting time stops flashing. The function is now activated.

TIMER OFF: The TIMER OFF feature is useful when you want the unit to turn off automatically after you go to bed. The air conditioner will stop automatically at the set time.

Example: To stop the air conditioner in 6 hours:

1. Press the TIMER button until the TIMER OFF light is displayed and the setting time beside is flashing.

2. Use the TEMP/TIME button to display “6.0” beside the TIMER OFF display of the remote control.

3. This function will be activated 3 seconds after you release the TEMP/TIME button.

Example:To stop the air conditioner 2 hours after setting and start it again 10 hours after setting.

2. Use the TEMP/TIME button to display “2.0” beside the TIMER OFF display.

3. Press the TIMER button again to display the TIMER ON.

4. Use the TEMP/TIME button to display “10” beside the TIMER ON display.

5. Wait for 3 seconds until the TIMER ON time stops flashing and this function is activated.

AUTO START - AUTO STOPSetting both OFF and ON timers simultaneously. (Off - Start - Stop operation)

This feature is useful when you want to start the air conditioner before you wake up and stop it after you leave the house.

Example:To start the air conditioner 5 hours after setting, and stop it 8 hours after setting.

Care and cleaning

Care and cleaning

CAUTION

Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire.

The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.

Always contact a qualified technician to refill coolant if needed. Do not attempt to do this yourself.

• Wash the filter using warm water. Rinse the filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure the filter is thoroughly dry before returning it to the unit. You can also vacuum the filter clean instead of washing it.

Note: Never use hot water to clean the air filter. Never operate the unit without the air filter.

Cabinet Cleaning

• Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire. The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth.

• Never use harsh cleaners, wax, polish or water on the cabinet.

• Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner.

• Plug in the air conditioner after cleaning is completed.

Winter Storage

If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully from the window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with plastic or return it to its original carton.

Handling the remote control

Handling the remote control

Location of the remote control: Keep the remote control where its signal can reach the receiver of the unit. A distance of 16.4 ft. (5m) is allowed.

When you select the TIMER operation, the remote control automatically transmits a signal to the unit at the specified time. If you keep the remote control in a position that hinders proper signal transmission, a time lag of up to minutes may occur.

CAUTION:

• The air conditioner will not operate if curtains, doors or other materials block the signals from the remote control to the unit.

• Prevent any liquid from falling into the remote control. Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or heat.

• If the infrared signal receiver on the unit is exposed to direct sunlight, the air conditioner may not function properly. Use curtains to prevent the sunlight from falling on the receiver.

• If other electrical appliances react to the remote control, either move these appliances or consult your local dealer.

Replacing batteries

The remote control used 2 AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cad,Ni-Mh, etc.) batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.

1. Slide the cover of the batter compartment off according to the arrow direction, then replace the old batteries with the new ones.

2. Insert the new batteries making sure that the (+) and (-) of battery are installed correctly.

3. Reattach the cover by sliding it back into position. After replacing the batteries, set the remote controller clock.

Dentro encontrará muchos consejos útiles sobre cómo usar y mantener el aire acondicionado de forma correcta. Algo de uso preventivo de su parte puede ahorrarle una gran cantidad de tiempo y dinero durante la vida útil del aire acondicionado. Los consejos de resolución de problemas en la página 61 le brindarán respuestas a muchos problemas comunes. Si revisa primero la tabla, quizás no necesite llamar al servicio técnico. Para evitar lesiones personales y daños materiales, se deben seguir las instrucciones siguien-tes. El funcionamiento incorrecto debido a hacer caso omiso de las instrucciones puede causar lesiones y daños.

• Asegúrese de que la ubicación del aire acondicionado cumpla con los requisitos eléctricos del modelo elegido. Esta información se puede encontrar en la placa de serie ubicada en el lado del gabinete y detrás de la parrilla.

• Si la ventana tiene tres carriles e incluye una pantalla, quite esta por completo antes de instalarlo.

• Asegúrese de que el aire acondicionado esté instalado de forma correcta y segura de acuerdo con las instrucciones de instalación del manual. Guarde el manual para consultas futuras sobre cómo extraer o instalar esta unidad.

• Ventile bien la habitación cuando se lo utiliza junto con una estufa, etc.

• No limpie la unidad con agua, ya que podría ingresar a la unidad y arruinar el aislamiento o provocar una descarga eléctrica.

• Si entra agua a la unidad, apáguela y abra el interruptor diferencial. Desconecte el enchufe y comuníquese con un técnico calificado.

• Deje de utilizarlo y cierre la ventana en caso de huracán u otra condición climática severa.

Sensor de corriente y eliminación

El cable de alimentación contiene un sensor de corriente para su seguridad. Para probar el cable de alimentación, haga lo siguiente:

1. Conecte el aire acondicionado.

2. El cable de alimentación tiene dos botones en el enchufe. Pulse el botón TEST (prueba). Escuchará un clic y el botón RESET (reinicio) saltará.

3. Pulse el botón RESET (reinicio). Volverá a escuchar un clic cuando accione el botón.

4. El cable de alimentación ya suministra electricidad a la unidad.

NOTA: No use el sensor de corriente para encender o apagar la unidad. Asegúrese de que el botón RESET (reinicio) esté siempre pulsado para garantizar el funcionamiento correcto.

Debe reemplazar el cable de alimentación si no logra reiniciarse cuando se pulsa el botón TEST (prueba) o si no se reinicia. Si el cable de alimentación está dañado, no lo puede reparar. Un técnico calificado lo debe reemplazar.

Eliminación Es ilegal llevar el aire acondicionado a un vertedero con el resto de la basura. Busque en su ciudad o estado la forma legal de eliminar el aire acondicionado.

1. PREPARAR LA vENTANA

La hoja inferior debe tener suficiente apertura como para permitir una abertura vertical de 13 pulgadas (330 mm). Las aberturas laterales y la parte posterior del aire acondicionado deben tener una separación para permitir que pase suficiente flujo de aire por el condensador donde se enfría. La parte posterior de la unidad debe estar en el exterior, no en un interior o en un garage.

2. PREPARAR EL AIRE ACONDICIONADO

A: Quite el aire acondicionado de la caja y colóquelo sobre una superficie plana.

B: Quite el riel superior del material de embalaje.

C: Alinee los orificios en la parte superior del riel con los que se encuentran en la parte superior de la unidad (figura A).

D: Fije el riel superior a la unidad con los tornillos de 3/8” (figura B).

NOTA: Por razones de seguridad, DEBE usar los cuatro (4) tornillos para fijarlo.

3. INSTALAR LOS PANELES DE ACORDEÓN

NOTA: El riel superior y los paneles deslizantes de cada lado están separados para proporcionar una inclinación adecuada hacia la parte posterior de 5/16 pulg. (7.9 mm). Esto es necesario para mantener un drenaje de agua con-densada adecuado. Si no usa los paneles de acordeón por algún motivo, la inclinación hacia la parte posterior se debe mantener.

A. Coloque la unidad sobre el piso, una banca o una mesa. Sostenga el panel de acordeón con una mano y tire suavemente por el centro para extender el panel tanto como sea necesario (figura 1).

B. Deslice el extremo libre de la sección “Ⅰ” del panel directamente hacia el gabinete como se muestra en la figura 2. Deslice el panel hacia abajo. Asegúrese de dejar espacio suficiente para deslizar la parte superior e inferior del marco por los rieles en el gabinete.

C. Una vez que se haya instalado el panel en el lado del gabinete, asegúrese de que se asiente de forma segura dentro del canal del marco y haga los ajustes ligeros necesarios. Deslice los extremos superior e inferior del marco del acordeón por los rieles superior e inferior del gabinete (figura 3).

D. Deslice el panel hasta el fondo y repita del otro lado (figura 4).

NOTA: Si una ventana de tormenta bloquea el aire acondicionado, vea la figura 11.

4. FIJAR LOS PANELES DE ACORDEÓN

A. Sujete con fuerza el aire acondicionado y coloque la unidad con cuidado en la abertura de la ventana de forma tal que la parte inferior del marco de este se apoye en el alfeizar de la ventana (figura 5). Cierre con cuidado la ventana detrás del riel superior de la unidad.

NOTA: Verifique que el aire acondicionado esté inclinado hacia atrás entre 5/8” y 3/4” (15.8 y 19 mm) hacia abajo del lado exterior. Con una instalación correcta, la condensación no debería drenar por el orificio de drenaje durante el uso normal. En caso contrario, aumente la inclinación.

B. Extienda los paneles de acordeón contra el marco de la ventana (figura 6).

5. INSTALAR EL SOPORTE

A. Coloque la traba del marco entre las extensiones del mismo y el marco de la ventana como se muestra en la figura 7. Pase tornillos de 3/4” (19 mm) o 1/2” (12.7 mm) por la traba del marco hasta el alfeizar.

B. Pase tornillos de 3/4” (19 mm) o 1/2” (12.7 mm) por la traba del marco hasta la hoja de la ventana. (figura 8).

NOTA: Para evitar que se parta el alfeizar de la ventana, perfore orificios de piloto de 1/8” (3 mm) antes de pasar los tornillos.

C. Para asegurar la hoja inferior, fije la traba del marco del ángulo derecho con tornillos de 3/4” (19 mm) o 1/2” (12.7 mm) como se muestra (figura 9).

Si una ventana de tormenta bloquea el aire acondicionado

Agregue madera como se muestra (figura 11) o quite la ventana de tormentas antes de instalar el aire acondicionado. Si no puede quitar el marco de la ventana de tormenta, asegúrese de que los orificios de drenaje no se cierren con pintura o cal. Se debe permitir que drene la condensación y el agua de lluvia acumulada.

Modos de funcionamiento


Para encender o apagar la unidad:

Pulse el botón On/Off (encendido/apagado) para encender o apagar la unidad.

Nota: La unidad encenderá automáticamente el modo de ahorro de energía en los modos COOL, DRY y AUTO (frío, secar y automático).

Para cambiar la configuración de temperatura:

Pulse el botón arriba/abajo para cambiar la configuración de temperatura. Nota: Pulse/mantenga pulsados los botones hasta que vea la temperatura deseada en la pantalla. La temperatura se mantendrá de forma automática. Pulse ambos botones arriba y abajo juntos por 3 segundos para cambiar los grados de temperatura entre farenheit y celsius.

Para ajustar la velocidad del ventilador:

Pulse el botón FAN (ventilador) para seleccionar la velocidad: Auto, Low, Medium o High (automático, baja, media o alta). Cada vez que pulse el botón, cambiará la velocidad del ventilador. En modo Dry (secar), la velocidad del ventilador se coloca en baja automáticamente.

Función del modo sleep (dormir):

Pulse el botón SLEEP (dormir) para iniciar esta función cuando la configuración esté en los modos Auto o Cool (automático o frío). En este modo, la temperatura seleccionada aumentará o disminuirá 2 °F (1 °C) en los siguientes 30 minutos y otros 2 °F (1 °C) pasados otros 30 minutos. La temperatura nueva se mantendrá por 6 horas antes de regresar a la temperatura original. Esto finaliza el modo sleep (dormir) y la unidad sigue funcionando como se la programó originalmente. El modo sleep (dormir) se puede cancelar en cualquier momento durante el funcionamiento si vuelve a pulsar el botón Sleep (dormir).

Función verificar filtro:

Pulse el botón Check filter (verificar filtro) para iniciar esta función. Esta función es un recordatorio para limpiar el filtro de aire a modo de obtener un funcionamiento más eficiente. La luz LED se encenderá tras 250 horas de funcionamiento. Para reiniciar tras la limpieza del filtro, pulse el botón Check filter (verificar filtro) y la luz se apagará.

Función de ahorro de energía:

Pulse el botón Energy Saver (ahorro de energía) para iniciar esta función. Esta función está dis-ponible en los modos Cool, Dry y Auto (frío, secar y automático). El ventilador seguirá funcionan-do por 3 minutos tras el apagado del compresor. El ventilador luego hará ciclos de 2 minutos con intervalos de 10 minutos hasta que la temperatura ambiente esté por encima de la temperatura establecida, momento en el cual el compresor se vuelve a encender y a enfriar.

Para seleccionar el modo de funcionamiento:

Para elegir el modo de funcionamiento, pulse el botón Mode (modo). Cada vez que pulse el botón Mode (modo), selecciona un modo en una secuencia que pasa por Auto, Cool, Dry y Fan (automático, frío, secar y ventilador). La luz indicadora junto a cada modo se iluminará y per-manecerá así mientras ese modo esté seleccionado. La unidad encenderá automáticamente la función de ahorro de energía en los modos Cool, Dry y Auto (frío, secar y automático).

Para el funcionamiento en el modo Auto (automático):

Cuando coloca al aire acondicionado en modo Auto (automático), seleccionará automáticamente enfriar o ventilador, en función de la temperatura que haya seleccionado y la temperatura ambiente. El aire acondicionado llevará automáticamente la temperatura ambiente a la temperatura que es-tableció. En este modo, la velocidad del ventilador no se puede ajustar; arranca automáticamente a una velocidad acorde a la temperatura ambiente.

Para el funcionamiento en el modo de ventilador:

Use esta función solo cuando no desee enfriar, como para que circule aire en la habitación o para quitar el aire viciado. Recuerde abrir la abertura para esta función y de volver a cerrarla cuando vuelva a enfriar para mantener la eficiencia del enfriamiento. Puede seleccionar la velocidad del ventilador que prefiera. Cuando use esta función, la pantalla mostrará la temperatura ambiente actual, no la temperatura establecida como en el modo de enfriamiento. En el modo de ventilador, la temperatura no se ajusta.

Para el funcionamiento en el modo Dry (secar):

En este modo, el aire acondicionado funcionará en general como deshumidificador. Si el espacio con el aire acondicionado es un área cerrada o sellada, habrá un cierto nivel de enfriamiento.

Temporizador: Función de encendido/apagado automático:

Cuando la unidad está encendida o apagada, primero pulse el botón Timer (temporizador). La luz indicadora de temporizador de encendido se encenderá. Indica que se inició el programa de encendido automático.Cuando aparece el tiempo del temporizador de encendido, pulse el botón Timer (temporizador) otra vez. La luz indicadora de temporizador de apagado se encenderá. Indica que se inició el programa de apagado automático.Pulse o mantenga pulsado los botones arriba o abajo para cambiar el temporizador automático en incrementos de media hora hasta las 10 horas, luego en incrementos de 1 hora hasta 24 horas. El control hará la cuenta regresiva del tiempo restante para el encendido.El tiempo seleccionado se registrará en 5 segundos y el sistema volverá automáticamente a mostrar la configuración de temperatura anterior o la temperatura ambiente cuando la unidad se encienda. Cuando la unidad esté apagada, no mostrará nada.Encender o apagar la unidad en cualquier momento o ajustar la configuración del temporizador a 0.0 cancelará el programa temporizado de encendido/apagado automático.

ADvERTENCIA - Para reducir los riesgos de incendio, descarga eléctrica o lesiones, lea las instrucciones importantes de seguridad antes de utilizar este aparato.

PRECAUCIÓN - Siempre espere 3 minutos cuando apague la unidad antes de volver a encenderla y cuando cambie de los modos de enfriamiento a ventilador y de regreso a enfriamiento. Esto evita que el compresor se sobrecaliente y que el interruptor diferencial se abra.

Para comenzar a utilizar el aire acondicionado, siga estos pasos:

1. Coloque el termostato en el número más bajo.

2. Coloque el control selector en el ajuste Cool (frío) más alto.

3. Ajuste las rejillas con la palanca para lograr un flujo de aire agradable.

4. Una vez que la habitación se haya enfriado, ajuste el termostato a la configuración que más le agrade.

5. Asegúrese de que el flujo de aire del interior y del exterior no encuentre obstrucciones. La palanca le permitirá dirigir el flujo de aire hacia la derecha o la izquierda por la habitación según se necesite. Mueva la palanca de lado a lado hasta que encuentre la dirección deseada.

6 Botón RESET (reinicio):

10 Botón CLOCK (reloj):

Se usa para configurar el horario.

11 Botón LED:

Pulsar este botón limpiará la pantalla digital del aire acondicionado, y si se lo pulsa de nuevo, se activa.

12 Botón LOCK (bloqueo):

Pulsar el botón LOCK (bloqueo) bloqueará todas las configuraciones actuales, el control remoto dejará de aceptar otros comandos y mantendrá los que se bloquearon. Púlselo de nuevo para cancelar el bloqueo. Para pulsar el botón LOCK (bloqueo), use un pin pequeño o un clip de papel.

El indicador de transmisión se enciende cuando el control remoto transmite señales a la unidad.

La sección de modo muestra el indicador del modo de funcionamiento actual, incluidos AUTO, COOL, DRY y FAN ONLY (automático, frío, secar y ventilador).

El indicador de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO aparece cuando se pulsa el botón ON/OFF (encender/apagar). Púlselo de nuevo para quitarlo.

El indicador de temperatura muestra la configuración de temperatura entre 62 y 86 °F (17 y 30 °C). Cuando está en modo FAN ONLY (ventilador), no aparece nada.

El indicador de tiempo muestra el temporizador de encendido/apagado (0 a 24 horas) o el horario. El horario solo se muestra si no estableció un temporizador de encendido/apagado automático. Cuando utiliza la función de temporizador automático, muestra el horario de encendido/apagado automático. Para ver el horario actual, pulse el botón CLOCK (reloj) y aparecerá el horario.

El indicador de bloqueo aparecerá cuando pulse el botón LOCK (bloqueo). Vuelva a pulsarlo para quitarlo.

El indicador de velocidad del ventilador mostrará la velocidad seleccionada del ventilador. AUTO (automático) y 3 niveles de velocidad del ventilador:

Antes de comenzar a utilizar el aire acondicionado, establezca el horario en el control remoto siguiendo los pasos menciona-dos. El panel del reloj en el control remoto mostrará el horario sin importar si el aire acondicionado está funcionando o no.

Configuración inicial del reloj

Una vez que inserte las pilas en el control remoto, el panel del reloj mostrará “12:00”. Mantenga pulsado el botón del reloj por 3 segundos y el horario comenzará a parpadear.

1. Botón de ajuste de TEMPERATURA/TEMPORIzADOR: pulse este botón para establecer el horario. Adelante Atrás Cada vez que pulse el botón, el horario se mueve hacia delante o atrás un minuto en función de qué botón pulse. El tiempo cambia al mismo ritmo que usted pulse el botón. Mantenga pulsado el botón temperatura/temporizador; el horario avanza hacia adelante (o atrás) en intervalos de 10 minutos.

2. Botón CLOCK (reloj): cuando llega al horario correcto, pulse el botón CLOCK (reloj) o suelte el botón adelante/atrás y espere 5 segundos. El horario del reloj dejará de parpadear y este comenzará a funcionar.

volver a ajustar el reloj: pulse el botón del reloj en el control remoto por aproximadamente 3 segundos. El horario del reloj comenzará a parpadear. Para establecer un horario nuevo, siga los pasos 1 y 2 anteriores.

NOTA: el horario del reloj se debe establecer antes de utilizar la función de temporizador automático. Si vuelve a ajustar el horario del reloj después de establecer el temporizador de en-cendido/apagado automático, el control remoto enviará la información del temporizador ajustado a la unidad.

La precisión del reloj es de 15 segundos por día.

Precaución: La electricidad estática u otros factores (en caso de extremadamente alto voltaje) puede causar que el reloj de control remoto se inicie. Si el control remoto se inicia (parpadea 12:00), vuelva a ajustar el reloj antes de iniciar el funcionamiento.

Funcionamiento automático

Cuando coloque el aire acondicionado en modo Auto (automático), se seleccionará automáticamente enfriar o ventilador, en función de la temperatura que haya seleccionado y la temperatura ambiente.

Una vez que seleccione el modo de funcionamiento, las condiciones de funcionamiento se guardan en la memoria de la unidad. De ahí en más el aire acondicionado comenzará a funcionar bajo las mismas condiciones con solo pulsar el botón ON/OFF (encendido/apagado) del control remoto.

Inicio: Asegúrese de que la unidad esté conectada y que haya energía. La luz de funcionamiento en el panel de la unidad se iluminará.

1. Pulse el botón de selección de modo. Púlselo para seleccionar AUTO (automático).

2. Botón temperatura/temporizador: Ajuste la temperatura deseada, por lo general entre 62 y 86 °F (17 y 30 °C).

1. Pulse el botón de selección de modo. Púlselo para seleccionar frío o ventilador.


3. Botón FAN SPEED (velocidad del ventilador): Pulse para seleccionar AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH (automático, baja, media o alta).

4. Botón de encendido/apagado: Cuando el aire acondicionado esté apagado, pulse este botón para encenderlo. Pulse este botón de nuevo para detener el aire acondicionado.

Nota: El modo FAN (ventilador) no controla la temperatura. Por lo tanto, solo realice los pasos 1, 3 y 4 para seleccionar este modo.

Funcionamiento del temporizador

1. Pulse el botón TIMER (temporizador); el control remoto muestra “0.0” junto a la luz de temporiza-dor de encendido o apagado y parpadea.

2. Botón temperatura/temporizador: púlselo para establecer el horario deseado. Arriba Abajo Pulse o mantenga pulsado los botones o para cambiar el temporizador automático en incrementos de media hora hasta las 10 horas, luego en incrementos de 1 hora hasta 24 horas. El horario seleccionado se registrará 3 segundos después de establecido.

3. Después de establecer el temporizador de encendido o apagado, verifique la luz de temporizador en el panel. Asegúrese de que esté encendida.

Cancel (cancelar): Pulse el botón CANCEL (cancelar) para cancelar la configuración del temporizador.

Cambio: Siga los pasos 1, 2 y 3 para cambiar la configuración.

La función de temporizador de encendido es útil cuando de-sea que la unidad se encienda automáticamente (por ejemplo: antes de regresar a casa). El aire acondicionado comenzará a funcionar automáticamente en el horario establecido.

Importante: El horario se registrará en 3 segundos (tras pre-sionar el botón temperatura/temporizador), por lo que debe seguir pulsando el botón hasta que se establezca el horario deseado. De lo contrario debe repetir todos los pasos.

Ejemplo: Para encender el aire acondicionado en 8 horas:

1. Pulse el botón temporizador; aparece la luz del temporizador de encendido y el horario parpadea.

2. Use el botón temperatura/temporizador hasta que diga “8.0” junto al indicador de temporizador de encendido del control remoto.

3. Espere 3 segundos una vez que el horario deje de parpadear. La función queda activada.

TEMPORIzADOR DE APAGADO: La función de temporizador de apagado es útil cuando desea que la unidad se apague au-tomáticamente después de irse a dormir. El aire acondicionado dejará funcionar automáticamente en el horario establecido.

Ejemplo: Para detener el aire acondicionado en 6 horas:

1. Pulse el botón temporizador hasta que aparezca la luz del temporizador de apagado y el horario parpadee.

2. Use el botón temperatura/temporizador hasta que diga “6.0” junto al indicador de temporizador de apagado del control remoto.

CESE AUTOMÁTICO - INICIO AUTOMÁTICOEsta función es útil cuando desea detener el aire acondicionado después de irse a dormir y que luego vuelva a encenderse a la mañana cuando despierta.

Ejemplo:Para detener el aire acondicionado en 2 horas y que vuelva a encenderse en 10 horas.

1. Pulse el botón TEMPORIZADOR hasta que aparezca la luz del TEMPORIZADOR DE APAGADO y el horario parpadee.

2. Use el botón temperatura/temporizador hasta que diga “2.0” junto al indicador de TEMPORIZADOR DE APAGADO.

3. Vuelva a pulsar el botón TEMPORIZADOR para que aparezca el TEMPORIZADOR DE ENCENDIDO.

4. Use el botón temperatura/temporizador hasta que diga “10” junto al indicador de TEMPORIZADOR DE ENCENDIDO.

5. Espere 3 segundos hasta que el TEMPORIZADOR DE ENCENDIDO deje de parpadear y a función se active.

INICIO AUTOMÁTICO - CESE AUTOMÁTICOConfigurar los temporizadores de ENCENDIDO y APAGADO simultáneamente. (Apagado - encendido - cese de funcionamiento)

Esta función es útil cuando desea encender el aire acondicionado antes de despertarse y apagarlo cuando se va de la casa.

Ejemplo:Para encender el aire acondicionado en 5 horas y apagarlo en 8 horas.

1. Pulse el botón TEMPORIZADOR para que aparezca el TEMPORIZADOR DE ENCENDIDO y el horario parpadee.

2. Use el botón temperatura/temporizador hasta que diga “5.0” junto al indicador de temporizador de encendido del control remoto.

3. Vuelva a pulsar el botón TEMPORIZADOR para que aparezca el TEMPORIZADOR DE APAGADO y establecer el horario.

Cuidado y limpieza

PRECAUCIÓN

Limpie el aire acondicionado ocasionalmente para que se siga viendo como nuevo. Asegúrese de desconectar la unidad antes de limpiarla para evitar descargas eléctricas o incendios.

El filtro de aire se debe verificar al menos una vez al mes para ver si necesita limpiarlo. Las partículas atrapadas en el filtro se pueden juntar y causar una acumulación de escarcha en las bobinas de enfri-amiento.

Siempre comuníquese con un electricista calificado para que rellenar el líquido refrigerante de ser nece-sario. No intente hacerlo por su cuenta.

Limpieza del filtro de aire

• Quite el filtro deslizándolo hacia afuera por el lado derecho (figura 13).

• Lávelo con agua tibia. Enjuáguelo bien. Sacúdalo con suavidad para quitar el exceso de agua. Asegúrese de que esté bien seco antes de volver a colocarlo en la unidad. También puede aspirarlo en lugar de lavarlo.

Nota: Nunca use agua caliente para limpiar el filtro de aire. Nunca use la unidad sin el filtro de aire.

Limpieza del gabinete

• Asegúrese de desconectar el aire acondicionado para evitar descargas eléctricas o incendios. El gabinete y el frente se pueden sacudir con un paño libre de aceite. Nunca use agua, pulidores, cera o limpiadores potentes en el gabinete.

• Asegúrese de quitar cualquier exceso de agua del paño antes de limpiar los controles. El exceso de agua dentro o cerca de los controles puede dañar el aire acondicionado.

• Conecte el aire acondicionado cuando haya terminado de limpiarlo.

Almacenamiento en invierno

Si piensa almacenar el aire acondicionado durante el invierno, quítelo con cuidado de la ventana siguiendo las instrucciones de instalación. Cúbralo con plástico o vuelva a colocarlo en la caja original.

Manipulación del control remotoUbicación del control remoto: Mantenga el control remoto donde su señal alcance al receptor de la unidad. Llega hasta una distancia de 16.4 pies (5 m).

Cuando seleccione el funcionamiento del temporizador, el control remoto transmite automáticamente una señal a la unidad en el horario especificado. Si mantiene el control remoto en una posición que no permite una transmisión directa, puede haber una demora de algunos minutos.

PRECAUCIóN:

• El aire acondicionado no funcionará si hay cortinas, puertas u otros obstáculos bloqueando la señal del control remoto a la unidad.

• Evite verter líquidos en el control remoto. No exponga el control remoto a la luz directa del sol o al calor.

• Si el receptor de señal infrarroja en la unidad está expuesta a la luz directa del sol, el aire acondicionado podría no funcionar correctamente. Use cortinas para evitar que llegue la luz del sol al receptor.

• Si otros aparatos eléctricos reaccionan al control remoto, mueva estos aparatos o consulte a su distribuidor local.

Cambio de pilasEl control remoto usa 2 pilas AAA. No mezcle pilas nuevas y viejas. No mezcla pilas alcalinas, estándar (zinc-carbono) o recargables (Ni-Cad, Ni-Mh, etc.). No tire las pilas al fuego. Las pilas pueden explotar o gotear.

1. Deslice la tapa del compartimento de las pilas hacia afuera según lo indica la flecha y reemplace las pilas viejas por otras nuevas.

2. Inserte las pilas nuevas y verifique que la polaridad (+) y (-) esté bien orientada.

3. Vuelva a colocar la tapa deslizándola de regreso a su posición. Después de colocar las baterías, ajuste el reloj del control remoto.

Solución

El enchufe de la pared está desconectado. Conecte bien el enchufe al tomacorriente.El fusible del hogar se quemó o se abrió el interruptor diferencial. Reemplace el fusible por uno de tiempo retardado o cierre el interruptor diferencial.El sensor de corriente del enchufe se abrió. Pulse el botón RESET (reinicio).Está APAGADO. ENCIÉNDALO.
