4 UnderstandingyourProfiDrumManager

ProfiDrum Manager contains automated programs to maximize the availability of your filtration system. The control unit itself is equipped with a “Power On/Off” switch, and two stainless steel push buttons that are equipped with LED light to communicate the base status of your system. These buttons are labelled “Status / Manual clean” and “UVC” and reside on the front of your control unit:

This chapter describes the different color conditions of the buttons and their meaning.

4.1 Operatingyourfiltrationprocess Power on your unit When you have connected all the appropriate cables, you are now ready to power ON your ProfiDrum Manager by operating the switch, and move this to “ON”. While the unit is initializing it’s programs, the top-button will be turn FLASHING GREEN. After initialization, the button will be colored PERMANENTLY GREEN. Your unit is then initialized and monitoring and managing your filtration system:

Automatic cleaning When ProfiDrum Manager determines that a cleaning cycle is needed, it will initiate the cleaning and the button will change to a SLOW GREEN FLASHING mode. This means that your system is instructed to clean the filtration system: When the cleaning cycle is finished, it will automatically return to the initial state (PERMANENTLY GREEN). Manual cleaning In case you want to manually start a cleaning cycle, just PRESS AND HOLD the Status-button for about 2 seconds until it switches to cleaning mode indicated by a SLOW GREEN FLASHING mode. It will finish the cleaning procedure and return to the initial state.

When water is too low to operate, manually initiating cleaning will not be possible

4.3 Monitoringconditions

In case your filtration system is detecting low water and the low water protection is automatically enabled, ProfiDrum Manager will respond with a FLASHING RED mode. This status will be reported until the cause is resolved.

Also, when the filtration system detects even lower water and the dry-run protection mode is initiated, ProfiDrum Manager will respond with an FAST FLASHING RED mode.

In all conditions, it is strongly advised to check your system and resolve the issue. As ProfiDrum Manager is an adaptive system no actions need to be performed on the ProfiDrum Manager itself.

5.2 Connectivitymodule

The Connectivity module enables the owner to access the rich functionality of the ProfiDrum Manager through a local network, or even from the internet! Supported by almost every device that is able to render HTML5 in a decent browser gives tremendous possibilities by supplying:

- Monitoring information. Real-time overview of the status of your filtration system - Reporting about important characteristics of your system like (historic) cleaning

cycle times, duration and results - Configuration of functionality parameters

ProfiDrum Manager with Connectivity module is equipped with a full-featured internal Wi-Fi access point, and can be integrated in home networks using a RJ45-connector.

It is NOT possible to add ProfiDrum Manager as Wi-Fi device to your local Wi-Fi network as we cannot control a steady signal to be used by ProfiDrum Manager other than using our own Access point directly integrated in the box. When you want to integrate ProfiDrum Manager in your own local network you have to use the RJ45-connector (see further below).

5.2.1 AccesstointernalWi-Fibasestation

When you have powered on your ProfiDrum Manager, a Wi-Fi access point with SSID “ProfiDrum_<unique number>” comes available. You can connect your device to this network by:

- Selecting the access point - Use the dedicated password “PDController” - Point your browser of choice on the connected device to: http://192.168.10.1

When you are in range of the access point you are able to have live information about your running system!

Page 16: User Manual ProfiDrum Manager EN 1 · 2020. 12. 14. · - NEN-EN-ISO 12100-1 - NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 The manufacturer declares to have complied with the safety requirements which are

16

UserManualProfiDrumManager

5.2.2 Accesstohomenetwork

As your local network is not controlled by ProfiDrum we can’t offer you support for that. However, on our website you will find a rich base of information on how to deal with

firewalls, firewall rules, NAT (Network Address Translation) and using ports to be able to open up your domestic internet router for direct connectivity from internet to ProfiDrum Manager.

ProfiDrum offers the additional RJ45-connection as a service to the owner, and has configured that port for DHCP-protocol so it should be able to pick up an ip-address from your local ip-address pool.

Although an RJ45-connector implies the usage of a direct cable between your local access router and your filter (which is often not possible) ProfiDrum advises to use a Powerline-solution. This technology uses the local power cabling to send signals through and is considered a very feasible solution for your purpose.

5.3 UsingtheConnectivitymodule

When you have established a connection from your browser of choice to ProfiDrum Manager, you will see the home-screen that shows you a real-time and full status of your system:

Page 17: User Manual ProfiDrum Manager EN 1 · 2020. 12. 14. · - NEN-EN-ISO 12100-1 - NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 The manufacturer declares to have complied with the safety requirements which are

5.3.1 System

System – System overall

The system-parameter is an activity indicator While moving, you are good to go and presented with a real-time view on your system! In case of alerting, indication will be presented in red color to make sure you are not missing anything!

System – Status

The status-parameter has a default value of “IDLE” This means that your system is running normally, and ProfiDrum Manager is active without intervention.

It can have the following status indications:

Page 18: User Manual ProfiDrum Manager EN 1 · 2020. 12. 14. · - NEN-EN-ISO 12100-1 - NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 The manufacturer declares to have complied with the safety requirements which are

18

UserManualProfiDrumManager

- FILTERING BASED ON WATERLEVEL. The system detected that a cleaning

cycle was needed, and started that. After finishing the cycle, the system returns to “IDLE”

- FILTERING BASED ON TIME. The system detected that a cleaning cycle was (still) not performed after one hour, and started an automatic cleaning cycle by itself. After finishing the cycle, the system returns to “IDLE”

- CHECK WATER LEVEL, combined with “Circulation” to OFF. The system detected a too low waterlevel, and the Dry-Run protection is commenced (hence, the circulation pumps shut down)

- ALARM, combined with “Circulation” to OFF. The system has sent out an alarm using the optional Alarming module that is also protected against power failure (SMS module)

System – Circulation

This parameter indicates whether or not the circulation pump(s) are running. The default value is “ON”. In case of disturbance this value can change to “OFF”.

System – Rinse

This parameter indicates the system is performing a rinse. The default value is “INACTIVE”.

System – UVC

This parameter indicates the UVC socket on the control unit is activated. As ProfiDrum Manager monitors this, all information about running time is available to the user and can be used to determine a change of UVC due to hours of usage.

System – Water level

This parameter indicates whether or not there is enough water in the system to be able to run. When the water level drops too low, it will signal this. Default value of this parameter is “Normal”.

Page 19: User Manual ProfiDrum Manager EN 1 · 2020. 12. 14. · - NEN-EN-ISO 12100-1 - NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1 The manufacturer declares to have complied with the safety requirements which are

Your system is equipped with a cover switch that shuts down the system as soon as you open the cover. This is for protection purposes. The default value is “Closed”.

When the cover is opened you are NOT able to run your system until it is closed again. In that case, the parameter will display “OPENED” in a red color on the ProfiDrum Manager web-interface.

5.3.2 Cleaning

The “Cleaning”-tab of the main screen gives you a comprehensive overview of your cleaning cycles, and reports about:

- Time of cleaning - Duration of the cleaning cycle - Idle time representing the time between the last and previous cleaning cycle as

indicator for your water pollution. ProfiDrum advises to thrive for a cleaning each 15-30 minutes to remove debris out of your water as soon as possible.

It is accompanied by two gauges, that represent an estimated time till the next rinse and an average interval based on the last 10 cleaning cycles:
