    1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

    years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.

    • Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of

    it appropriately.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when

    it operates or when it cools down. Accessible parts arehot.

    • If the appliance has a child safety device, this shouldbe activated.

    • Children shall not carry out cleaning and usermaintenance of the appliance without supervision.

    • Children aged 3 years and under must be kept awayfrom this appliance when it is in operation at all times.

    1.2 General Safety• WARNING: The appliance and its accessible parts

    become hot during use. Care should be taken toavoid touching heating elements. Children less than 8years of age shall be kept away unless continuouslysupervised.

    • Do not operate the appliance by means of an externaltimer or separate remote-control system.

    • WARNING: Unattended cooking on a hob with fat oroil can be dangerous and may result in fire.

    • NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switchoff the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lidor a fire blanket.

  • • CAUTION: The cooking process has to be supervised.A short term cooking process has to be supervisedcontinuously.

    • WARNING: Danger of fire: Do not store items on thecooking surfaces.

    • Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lidsshould not be placed on the hob surface since theycan get hot.

    • Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.• After use, switch off the hob element by its control

    and do not rely on the pan detector.• If the glass ceramic surface / glass surface is cracked,

    switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility ofelectric shock.

    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, an authorized Service or similarlyqualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

    • WARNING: Use only hob guards designed by themanufacturer of the cooking appliance or indicated bythe manufacturer of the appliance in the instructionsfor use as suitable or hob guards incorporated in theappliance. The use of inappropriate guards can causeaccidents.

    2. CONDITIONS OF USEThis appliance is intended to be used inhousehold and similar applications suchas:

    • Farm houses

    • By clients in serviced apartments,holiday apartments and otherresidential type environments.

    3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

    3.1 Installation

    WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

    • Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

    appliance.• Follow the installation instruction

    supplied with the appliance.

    • Keep the minimum distance from theother appliances and units.

    • Always take care when moving theappliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

    • Seal the cut surfaces with a sealant toprevent moisture to cause swelling.

    • Protect the bottom of the appliancefrom steam and moisture.

    • Do not install the appliance adjacentto a door or under a window. This

  • prevents hot cookware to fall from theappliance when the door or thewindow is opened.

    • If the appliance is installed abovedrawers make sure that the space,between the bottom of the applianceand the upper drawer, is sufficient forair circulation.

    • The bottom of the appliance can gethot. Make sure to install a non-combustible separation panel underthe appliance to prevent access to thebottom.

    • Make sure that the ventilation spaceof 2 mm, between the worktop andthe front of the below unit, is free.The warranty does not cover damagescaused by the lack of an adequateventilation space.

    3.2 Electrical Connection

    WARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

    • All electrical connections should bemade by a qualified electrician.

    • The appliance must be earthed.• Before carrying out any operation

    make sure that the appliance isdisconnected from the power supply.

    • Make sure that the electricalinformation on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not, contactan electrician.

    • Make sure the appliance is installedcorrectly. Loose and incorrectelectricity mains cable or plug (ifapplicable) can make the terminalbecome too hot.

    • Use the correct electricity mainscable.

    • Do not let the electricity mains cabletangle.

    • Make sure that a shock protection isinstalled.

    • Use the strain relief clamp on thecable.

    • Make sure the mains cable or plug (ifapplicable) does not touch the hotappliance or hot cookware, when youconnect the appliance to the nearsockets

    • Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

    • Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug (if applicable) or to themains cable. Contact our AuthorisedService Centre or an electrician tochange a damaged mains cable.

    • The shock protection of live andinsulated parts must be fastened insuch a way that it cannot be removedwithout tools.

    • Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

    • If the mains socket is loose, do notconnect the mains plug.

    • Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

    • Use only correct isolation devices: lineprotecting cut-outs, fuses (screw typefuses removed from the holder), earthleakage trips and contactors.

    • The electrical installation must havean isolation device which lets youdisconnect the appliance from themains at all poles. The isolationdevice must have a contact openingwidth of minimum 3 mm.

    3.3 Use

    WARNING!Risk of injury, burns andelectrical shock.

    • Remove all the packaging, labellingand protective film (if applicable)before first use.

    • Use this appliance in a householdenvironment.

    • Do not change the specification ofthis appliance.

    • Make sure that the ventilationopenings are not blocked.

    • Do not let the appliance stayunattended during operation.

    • Set the cooking zone to “off” aftereach use.

    • Do not rely on the pan detector.• Do not put cutlery or saucepan lids on

    the cooking zones. They can becomehot.

    • Do not operate the appliance withwet hands or when it has contact withwater.

  • • Do not use the appliance as a worksurface or as a storage surface.

    • If the surface of the appliance iscracked, disconnect immediately theappliance from the power supply. Thisto prevent an electrical shock.

    • Users with a pacemaker must keep adistance of minimum 30 cm from theinduction cooking zones when theappliance is in operation.

    • When you place food into hot oil, itmay splash.

    WARNING!Risk of fire and explosion

    • Fats and oil when heated can releaseflammable vapours. Keep flames orheated objects away from fats and oilswhen you cook with them.

    • The vapours that very hot oil releasescan cause spontaneous combustion.

    • Used oil, that can contain foodremnants, can cause fire at a lowertemperature than oil used for the firsttime.

    • Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

    WARNING!Risk of damage to theappliance.

    • Do not keep hot cookware on thecontrol panel.

    • Do not put a hot pan cover on theglass surface of the hob.

    • Do not let cookware to boil dry.• Be careful not to let objects or

    cookware fall on the appliance. Thesurface can be damaged.

    • Do not activate the cooking zoneswith empty cookware or withoutcookware.

    • Do not put aluminium foil on theappliance.

    • Cookware made of cast iron,aluminium or with a damaged bottom

    can cause scratches on the glass /glass ceramic. Always lift theseobjects up when you have to movethem on the cooking surface.

    • This appliance is for cookingpurposes only. It must not be used forother purposes, for example roomheating.

    3.4 Care and cleaning• Clean regularly the appliance to

    prevent the deterioration of thesurface material.

    • Deactivate the appliance and let itcool down before you clean it.

    • Disconnect the appliance from theelectrical supply before maintenance.

    • Do not use water spray and steam toclean the appliance.

    • Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use any abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents ormetal objects.

    3.5 Disposal

    WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

    • Contact your municipal authority forinformation on how to discard theappliance correctly.

    • Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

    • Cut off the mains electrical cableclose to the appliance and dispose ofit.

    The induction cooking zones make theheat necessary for cooking processdirectly in the bottom of the cookware.The glass ceramic is heated by the heatof the cookware.

    5. DAILY USE

    WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

    5.1 Activating anddeactivating

    Touch for 1 second to activate ordeactivate the hob.

    5.2 Automatic Switch OffThe function deactivates the hobautomatically if:

    • all cooking zones are deactivated,• you do not set the heat setting after

    you activate the hob,• you spill something or put something

    on the control panel for more than 10seconds (a pan, a cloth, etc.). Anacoustic signal sounds and the hobdeactivates. Remove the object orclean the control panel.

    • the hob gets too hot (e.g. when asaucepan boils dry). Let the cookingzone cool down before you use thehob again.

    • you use incorrect cookware. The

    symbol comes on and the cookingzone deactivates automatically after 2minutes.

    • you do not deactivate a cooking zoneor change the heat setting. After

    some time comes on and the hobdeactivates.

    The relation between the heat settingand the time after which the hobdeactivates:

    5.3 The heat settingTo set or change the heat setting:

    Touch the control bar at the correct heatsetting or move your finger along thecontrol bar until you reach the correctheat setting.

    5.4 Cooking zone indicationThe horizontal line shows the maximumsize of the cookware. The break in thehorizontal line shows the minimumcookware diameter.

  • 5.5 Automatic Heat UpActivate this function to get a desiredheat setting in a shorter time. When it ison, the zone operates on the highestsetting in the beginning and thencontinues to cook at the desired heatingsetting.

    To activate the function thecooking zone must be cold.

    To activate the function for a cooking

    zone: touch ( comes on).Immediately touch a desired heat

    setting. After 3 seconds comes on.

    To deactivate the function: change theheat setting.

    5.6 Power functionThis function makes more poweravailable to the induction cooking zones.The function can be activated for theinduction cooking zone only for a limitedperiod of time. After this time theinduction cooking zone automaticallysets back to the highest heat setting.

    To activate the function for a cooking

    zone: touch . comes on.

    To deactivate the function: change theheat setting.

    5.7 TimerCount Down TimerYou can use this function to set how longthe cooking zone should operate for asingle cooking session.

    First set the heat setting for the cookingzone then set the function.

    To set the cooking zone: touch again and again until the indicator of anecessary cooking zone comes on.

    To activate the function: touch ofthe timer to set the time (00 - 99minutes). When the indicator of thecooking zone starts to flash slowly thetime counts down.

    To see the remaining time: set the

    cooking zone with . The indicator ofthe cooking zone starts to flash quickly.The display shows the remaining time.

    To change the time: set the cooking

    zone with . Touch or .

    To deactivate the function: set the

    cooking zone with and touch . Theremaining time counts back to 00. Theindicator of the cooking zone goes out.

    When the time comes to anend, the sound operates and00 flashes. The cooking zonedeactivates.

    To stop the sound: touch .

    CountUp Timer (The count up timer)You can use this function to monitor howlong the cooking zone operates.

    To set the cooking zone: touch again and again until the indicator of anecessary cooking zone comes on.

    To activate the function: touch of

    the timer. comes on. When theindicator of the cooking zone starts toflash slowly the time counts up. The

    display switches between andcounted time (minutes).

    To see how long the cooking zone

    operates: set the cooking zone with .The indicator of the cooking zone startsto flash quickly. The display shows howlong the zone operates.

    To deactivate the function: set the

    cooking zone with and touch or

    . The indicator of the cooking zonegoes out.

    Minute MinderYou can use this function as a MinuteMinder when the hob is activated andthe cooking zones do not operate. The

    heat setting display shows .

    To activate the function: touch .

    Touch or of the timer to set thetime. When the time comes to an end,the sound operates and 00 flashes.

    The function has no effecton the operation of thecooking zones.

    5.8 STOP+GOThis function sets all cooking zones thatoperate to the lowest heat setting.

    When the function operates, you cannotchange the heat setting.

    The function does not stop the timerfunctions.

    To activate the function: touch . comes on.

    To deactivate the function: touch .The previous heat setting comes on.

    5.9 LockYou can lock the control panel whilecooking zones operate. It prevents anaccidental change of the heat setting.

    Set the heat setting first.

    To activate the function: touch . comes on for 4 seconds. The Timer stayson.

    To deactivate the function: touch .The previous heat setting comes on.

    When you deactivate thehob, you also deactivate thisfunction.

    5.10 The Child Safety DeviceThis function prevents an accidentaloperation of the hob.

    To activate the function: activate the

    hob with . Do not set the heat setting.

    Touch for 4 seconds. comes on.

    Deactivate the hob with .

    To deactivate the function: activate the

    hob with . Do not set the heat setting.

    Touch for 4 seconds. comes on.

    Deactivate the hob with .

    To override the function for only one

    cooking time: activate the hob with .

    comes on. Touch for 4 seconds. Set the heat setting in 10 seconds. Youcan operate the hob. When you

    deactivate the hob with the functionoperates again.

    5.11 OffSound Control(Deactivating and activatingthe sounds)

    Deactivate the hob. Touch for 3seconds. The display comes on and goes

    out. Touch for 3 seconds. or

    comes on. Touch of the timer tochoose one of the following:

    • - the sounds are off

    • - the sounds are onTo confirm your selection wait until thehob deactivates automatically.

    When the function is set to you canhear the sounds only when:

    • you touch • Minute Minder comes down• Count Down Timer comes down• you put something on the control

    panel.

    5.12 Power managementfunction• Cooking zones are grouped

    according to the location and numberof the phases in the hob. See theillustration.

    • Each phase has a maximum electricityloading of 3700 W.

    • The function divides the powerbetween cooking zones connected tothe same phase.

    • The function activates when the totalelectricity loading of the cookingzones connected to a single phaseexceeds 3700 W.

    • The function decreases the power tothe other cooking zones connected tothe same phase.

    • The heat setting display of thereduced zones changes between twolevels.

  • 5.13 Hob²HoodIt is an advanced automatic functionwhich connects the hob to a specialhood. Both the hob and the hood havean infra — red signal communicator.Speed of the fan is defined automaticallyon basis of mode setting andtemperature of the hottest cookware onthe hob. You can also operate the fanfrom the hob manually.

    For most of the hoods theremote system is originallydeactivated. Activate itbefore you use the function.For more information referto hood user manual.

    Operating the function automaticallyTo operate the function automatically setthe automatic mode to H1 – H6. The hobis originally set to H5. The hood reactswhenever you operate the hob. The hobrecognizes temperature of the cookwareautomatically and adjusts the speed ofthe fan.

    1) The hob detects the boiling process and acti-vates fan speed in accordance with automaticmode.2) The hob detects the frying process and acti-vates fan speed in accordance with automaticmode.3) This mode activates the fan and the light anddoes not rely on the temperature.

    Changing the automatic mode1. Deactivate the appliance.

    2. Touch for 3 seconds. The displaycomes on and goes off

    3. Touch for 3 seconds.

    4. Touch a few times until comeson.

    5. Touch of the Timer to select anautomatic mode.

    To operate the hood directlyon the hood paneldeactivate the automaticmode of the function.

    When you finish cooking anddeactivate the hob, thehood fan may still operatefor a certain period of time.After that time the systemdeactivates the fanautomatically and preventsyou from accidentalactivation of the fan for thenext 30 seconds.

    Operating the fan speed manuallyYou can also operate the function

    manually. To do that touch when thehob is active. This deactivates automaticoperation of the function and allows youto change the fan speed manually. When

  • you press you raise the fan speed byone. When you reach an intensive level

    and press again you will set fan speedto 0 which deactivates the hood fan. Tostart the fan again with fan speed 1 touch

    .

    To activate automaticoperation of the function,deactivate the hob andactivate it again.

    Activating the lightYou can set the hob to activate the lightautomatically whenever you activate thehob. To do so set the automatic mode toH1 – H6.

    The light on the hooddeactivates 2 minutes afterdeactivating the hob.

    6. FLEXIBLE INDUCTION COOKING AREA

    WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

    6.1 FlexiBridge functionThe flexible induction cooking areaconsists of four sections. The sectionscan be combined into two cooking zoneswith different size, or into one largecooking area. You choose thecombination of the sections by choosingthe mode applicable to the size of thecookware you want to use. There arethree modes: Standard (activatedautomatically when you activate thehob), Big Bridge and Max Bridge.

    To set the heat setting usetwo left side control bars.

    Switching between the modes

    To switch between the modes use sensor

    When you switch betweenthe modes the heat settingis set back to 0.

    Diameter and position of thecookware

    Choose the mode applicable to the sizeand the shape of the cookware. Thecookware should cover the selected areaas much as possible. Place the cookwarecentrally on the selected area!

    Place the cookware with the bottomdiameter smaller than 160 mm centrallyon a single section.

    Place the cookware with the bottomdiameter larger then 160 mm centrallybetween two sections.

    6.2 FlexiBridge StandardmodeThis mode is active when you activatethe hob. It connects the sections into twoseparate cooking zones. You can set theheat setting for each zone separately.Use two left side control bars.

    6.3 FlexiBridge Big Bridgemode

    To activate the mode press until yousee the correct mode indicator. Thismode connects three rear sections intoone cooking zone. The one front sectionis not connected and operates as aseparate cooking zone. You can set theheat setting for each zone separately.Use two left side control bars.

    Correct cookware position:

    To use this mode you have to place thecookware on the three connectedsections. If you use cookware smaller

    than two sections the display shows and after 2 minutes the zone switches off.

  • 6.4 FlexiBridge Max Bridgemode

    To activate the mode press until yousee the correct mode indicator. Thismode connects all sections into onecooking zone. To set the heat setting useone of the left side control bars.

    Correct cookware position:

    To use this mode you have to place thecookware on the four connectedsections. If you use cookware smaller

    than three sections the display shows and after 2 minutes the zone switches off.

    Incorrect cookware position:

    6.5 PowerSlide functionThis function allows you to adjust thetemperature by moving the cookware toa different position on the inductioncooking area.

    The function divides the inductioncooking area into three areas withdifferent heat settings. The hob sensesthe position of the cookware and sets theheat setting corresponding with theposition. You can place the cookware inthe front, middle or rear position. If youplace the cookware in the front you getthe highest heat setting. You candecrease the heat setting by moving thecookware in the middle or to the rearposition.

    Use only one pot when youoperate the function.

    General information:

    • 160 mm is the minimum bottomdiameter of the cookware for thisfunction.

    • Heat setting display for the left rearcontrol bar shows the position of thecookware on the induction cooking

    • Heat setting display for the left frontcontrol bar shows the heat setting. Tochange the heat setting use leftfront control bar.

    • When you activate the function for the

    first time you will get heat setting

    for the front position, for the

    middle position and for the rearposition.

    You can change the heat settings foreach position separately. The hob willremember your heat settings nexttime you activate the function.

    Activating the function

    To activate the function place thecookware in the correct position on the

    cooking area. Touch . The indicatorabove the symbol comes on. If you donot place the cookware on the cooking

    area comes on and after 2 minutesthe flexible induction cooking area is set

    to .

    Deactivating the function

    To deactivate the function touch or

    set the heat setting to . The indicator

    above the symbol goes off.

    7. HINTS AND TIPS

    WARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

    7.1 Cookware

    For induction cooking zonesa strong electro-magneticfield creates the heat in thecookware very quickly.

    Use the induction cookingzones with correct cookware.

    Cookware material

    • correct: cast iron, steel, enamelledsteel, stainless steel, the bottommade of multi-layer (with correct markfrom a manufacturer).

    • not correct: aluminium, copper,brass, glass, ceramic, porcelain.

    Cookware is correct for an inductionhob if:

    • some water boils very quickly on azone set to the highest heat setting.

    • a magnet pulls on to the bottom ofthe cookware.

    The printing on the flexibleinduction cooking area maybecome dirty or changecolour from sliding thecookware. You can clean thearea in a standard way.

  • Cookware dimensions

    Induction cooking zones adapt to thedimension of the bottom of thecookware automatically to some limit.

    The cooking zone efficiency is related tothe diameter of the cookware. Thecookware with a smaller diameter thanthe minimum receives only a part of thepower generated by the cooking zone.

    Refer to “Technicalinformation” chapter.

    7.2 The noises duringoperationIf you can hear:

    • crack noise: cookware is made ofdifferent materials (sandwichconstruction).

    • whistle sound: you use the cookingzone with high power level and thecookware is made of differentmaterials (sandwich construction).

    • humming: you use high power level.• clicking: electric switching occurs.

    • hissing, buzzing: the fan operates.The noises are normal and do not referto hob malfunction.

    7.3 Öko Timer (Eco Timer)To save energy, the heater of thecooking zone deactivates before thecount down timer sounds. The differencein the operation time depends on theheat setting level and the length of thecooking operation.

    7.4 Examples of cookingapplicationsThe relation between the heat settingand the cooking zone consumption ofpower is not linear. When you increasethe heat setting, it is not proportional tothe increase of the cooking zoneconsumption of power. It means that thecooking zone with the medium heatsetting uses less than a half of its power.

    8.2 Cleaning the hob• Remove immediately: melted plastic,

    plastic foil, sugar and food with sugar.If not, the dirt can cause damage tothe hob. Take care to avoid burns. Putthe special scraper on the glass

    surface at an acute angle and movethe blade on the surface.

    • Remove when the hob is sufficientlycool: limescale rings, water rings, fatstains, shiny metallic discoloration.Clean the hob with a moist cloth andnon-abrasive detergent. Aftercleaning, wipe the hob dry with a softcloth.

    • Remove shiny metallicdiscoloration: use a solution of waterwith vinegar and clean the glasssurface with a moist cloth.

    3. Warranty Period: Subject to these terms and conditions, this warranty continues for in Australia for a period of 60 months and in New Zealand for a period of 60 months, following the date of original purchase of the Appliance.

Repair or replace warranty: During the Warranty Period, Electrolux or its ASC will, at no extra charge if your Appliance is readily accessible for service, without special equipment and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it considers to be defective. Electrolux may, in its absolute discretion, choose whether the remedy offered for a valid warranty claim is repair or replacement. Electrolux or its ASC may use refurbished parts to repair your Appliance. You agree that any replaced Appliances or parts become the property of Electrolux.

    5. Travel and transportation costs: Subject to clause 7, Electrolux will bear the reasonable cost of transportation, travel and delivery of the Appliance to and from Electrolux or its ASC. Travel and transportation will be arranged by Electrolux as part of any valid warranty claim.

    6. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim under this warranty.

    7. Exclusions: You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship. This warranty does not cover:

    (a) light globes, batteries, filters or similar perishable parts;

    (b) parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux;

    (c) cosmetic damage which does not affect the operation of the Appliance;

    (d) damage to the Appliance caused by: (i) negligence or accident;

    (ii) misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or service;

    (iii) improper, negligent or faulty servicing or repair works done by anyone other than an Electrolux authorised repairer or ASC;

    (iv) normal wear and tear;

    (v) power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power supply;

    (vi) incomplete or improper installation;

    (vii) incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation;

    (viii) insect or vermin infestation;

    (ix) failure to comply with any additional instructions supplied with the Appliance;

    In addition, Electrolux is not liable under this warranty if:

    (a) the Appliance has been, or Electrolux reasonably believes that the Appliance has been, used for purposes other than those for which the Appliance was intended, including where the Appliance has been used for any non-domestic purpose;

    (b) the Appliance is modified without authority from Electrolux in writing;

    (c) the Appliance’s serial number or warranty seal has been removed or defaced.
