Using Authorized Payer Access Access as an Authorized Payer provides parents, guardians, or other individuals access to view and make payments on a student’s account. Note: Authorized payers with multiple students can link the students’ accounts and switch between the students’ accounts without having to log out and then back into the system. Using Authorized Payer Access

Access as an Authorized Payer provides parents, guardians, or other individuals access to view and make payments on a student’s account. Note: Authorized payers with multiple students can link the students’ accounts and switch between the students’ accounts without having to log out and then back into the system.

Using Authorized Payer Access1. Authorized Payers will be notified via email that they have been granted access to the

student’s account.

2. Included in the email are your Authorized User ID and temporary Password.Note: You will be prompted to change your password the first time you log in to view the account.

3. Clicking on the link in the email will take you to the Authorized Payer Access login screen.

Note: The Authorized Payer Access login screen can also be accessed by visiting the LionPATH Guest site (https://public.lionpath.psu.edu) and clicking on the Authorized Payer Access tab located at the top of the screen.

4. Once you navigate to Authorized Payer Access login screen, click the Authorized Payer Login button.

5. The CASHNet login page appears. Enter your User name and Password, which appeared in the email notification you received, and click the Sign in button.

6. The first time you log in into the system as an Authorized Payer, you will be prompted to Create a new password. Enter a new Password, Confirm the password, and select the type of Email you wish to receive about the student’s account. Click Continue.

7. If you have used the system in the past but have forgotten your password, click the Forgot password button.

8. You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your Authorized Payer account. This is the email address where you received notification that you were granted access to the student’s account. Click Continue.

9. A message appears letting you know that Your user name and temporary password have been sent to the email address you provided. Note: The email will contain the link to access the student account. Click Continue.

10. The CASHNet log in page appears. Enter your User name and temporary Password in the email you received and click the Sign in button.

11. You will be prompted to Create a new password. Enter a new Password, Confirm the password, and select the type of Email you wish to receive about the student’s account. Click Continue.

12. After logging into the account, the Penn State Student Account Dashboard Overview page will be displayed. Note: The Student name on the top of the page is the student you are viewing.

13. Your account details will be displayed on the My Account page of the Student Account Dashboard. From here you can manage your account, and access all the account options on the left, including the account Overview, Account Details,

Payment Plans, Make a Payment, Transactions (Receipts for online payments), Statements, and Tax Forms.

14. To change your account password, click on the pencil icon next to the Password section of the My Account page.

15. To add (or edit) a payment method on your account, click on Add payment method (or pencil icon) in the Payment methods section of the My Account page, and complete the required credit card or bank account payment information.

16. To view or edit the type of email notifications you will receive for this student’s account, click on the pencil icon next to Email notifications in the Notifications section of the My Account page.

17. To view or sign up for SMS (text) notifications, click on the Sign up link next to SMS notifications in the Notifications section of the My Account page, and complete your mobile phone information.

18. To view the privacy and terms on the use of personal information, click on the View link next to Use of personal information in the Privacy & terms section of the My Account page.

19. To use Authorized Payer access for multiple students, click on the pencil icon next to the Student name on the Overview page of the Student Account Dashboard.

20. The Students page displays the name of the student you are currently viewing (Current Student). If another student has given you access to view their account, you will see that student’s account listed as Other students. Click the View box to switch to the other student account.

21. If you need to link the student account of another student who has given you access to view their account, click on Link to another student on the Students page. The Student link page opens. Enter your Authorized User ID (User name) and Password. This information is found in the email notifying you that you were granted access to that student’s account. Click Continue.

22. To see the students linked under your account, navigate to the Overview page of the Student Account Dashboard, and click on the pencil icon next to the Student name you are currently viewing.

23. The Students page opens. You will see the students linked under your account. From here you can click the View box next to the student name to switch to another student account.
