Locating the corporate websiteMost companies in the United States will have two main websites: the

consumer website and the corporate website.

The consumer website offers information, and occasionally purchasing information, on the company’s products. It’s primarily a marketing vehicle.

The corporate website includes information on the company’s policies, employment information, social policies, and so forth.

The company’s consumer website can usually be located with a search for www.companyname.com. Like so: www.homedepot.com, www.pepsi.com, www.usairways.com.

This tutorial uses Coca-Cola as an example; however, almost all company websites are built on similar lines.

This is a screen capture of Coca-Cola’s consumer web page. Note that the information provided is about Coca-Cola’s products, not the company.

At the bottom of the page is a link to the company’s corporate website: “About the Coca-Cola Company.” Most company consumer websites will have a similar link. Other names include “Investor Relations,” “About the company,” and so forth.

Note that the URL has changed from “coca-cola.com” to “thecoca-colacompany.com.”

The corporate website includes information about internal company initiatives (sustainability, jobs/careers, and so forth), as well as information for prospective investors in the company.
