Music in the Classroom  How do you feel while you listen to music? Many people listen to music to calm down and relax. Some music, especially music without words can make the brain wake up and think. I think music would be beneficial for our class because it would help us to calm down, it teaches us things, and it helps us remember things. Music would help us do our work because it would get us to calm down. Our class is really noisy and excited when we come in from recess. If we heard soft music playing, we would know it is time to get right to work. For example, in my second grade class with Mr. Pierce, we listened to music every morning when we came into the class. The whole class was quiet when they were writing so they could listen to the music. Music makes us work faster.

Garbage on the School Grounds  How would you like to live in a dump? A dump is where everyone throws their garbage and it stinks. You can’t go anywhere without stepping on something gooey and gross. Rats, seagulls, worms and other animals live near the dump because they can get food. I believe students at our school should try more to pick up their garbage since it will make our school safer. Our school would be safer because there wouldn’t be any garbage to trip over. Our soccer field is sometimes covered with papers and water bottles. When we are playing soccer or football, we could trip or slip on the garbage and get hurt. For instance, my sister slipped on some garbage at our house and hit her head on the table. She had a black eye for two weeks. It is better to throw away our garbage and be safe.

Have you ever had someone steal something of yours? Stealing is when someone takes something that does not belong to them. Stealing hurts people. In my opinion, people should always be honest because they feel better about themselves.
