The new generation UV light exhaust air filter
UV light The secret weapon against
fat and oil

purventus GmbH
Purventus has been active in the area of air purification since 1999 and develops, constructs and offers environmentally friendly air and exhaust air decontamination systems.
The air on the earth is cleaned by the sun. Odours, bacteria and viruses are minimised by the UV light. Purventus UV filters do the same thing and reduce fat deposits in exhaust air systems in the simplest way with the least possible energy use and reduce odour carrying substances and micro-organisms in the air by up to 99.9%.
It produces UV radiation under controlled conditions in defined wavelengths. These break down fat molecules and create ozone (O3) in connection with atmospheric oxygen (O2). Ozone is extremely reactive and oxidizes substances like fats, nicotine smoke or odour carrying benzol.
The result is 100% biodegradable waste materials, water, oxygen and carbon dioxide. Due to its high level of reactivity, ozone also kills off micro-organisms and therefore has a disinfecting effect. The cost savings for operators are enormous.
But even more important is the fact that the operation is safe and there are no problems with authorities, the neighbourhood or guests due to odour problems.
The definitive USP is the ability to be able to completely clean the UV module in the dishwasher.
Purventus is represented by distributors/sales partners across the globe. The UV filter is mainly manufactured in made-to-order production and is independently marketed.
Purventus is both a manufacturer, distributor and a project developer.
Benefits at a glance:
• Clean air without chemicals
• Exhaust air decontamination, disinfection and sterilization
• Neutralises odours
• Reduction of fire loads
• Reduces operating costs (for filters, air canal cleaning, electricity)
• Effective, environmentally friendly and easy to manage
• Can be integrated into almost any ventilation system

• Commercial kitchens/canteens
• Transport restaurants (airports, train stations, etc.)
• Breweries and hostelries

Have you seen something like this before?
But that's how it looks in some places
No?
4
But this is also reality
Fat and grime in the exhaust duct
In some kitchens fat pours out of every pipe
all of them “excellentfire accelerants“
noconventional filtercan prevent that
Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam 2001
5
What can happen when trying to save money in fire protection
400 deaths at a shopping centre in Paraguay 2003
and what a small fire from a deep fat fryer can cause:
these little critters feel right at home in every exhaust duct
6
what else can be found in the duct?
when there happens to be no fire ...
These boys are also not to be scoffed atthey live on fat and dirt and also like to take it easy ...
7
You want the best for your customers?
It's grimy and it stinks
It's a real fire hazard
But how ... can we solve these problems?
• with fire extinguishers?
• with no more hamburgers on the grill?
• Filters? What kind then?
• Hold your nose?
• clean the duct every 14 days?
8
Of course these problems can be solved
but with what amount of effort ...
Duct cleaning with lots of chemicals and pressure?
• Downtime • High costs • Waste water pollution • not everything can be
made clean • it still smells • there's fat in the duct
again
9
Even these “filters” don't remove the fat
Aerosol separator (Flame protection filter)
Electrostatic filter
Plasma generating filter
Ozone generators
Catalysts
Fat particles < 5 µm are not separated
susceptible to damage, high-voltage, safety risk
absolutely no effect against fat / Oil-aerosols; susceptible to dirt
high ozone concentration (costs); safety risk
no fat reduction, expensive to procure
10
but only: ✓ H2O, CO2, fat pocket, O3
(Ozone)
✓ 100% no longer a fire hazard ✓ up to 90% less odour ✓ up to 100% no germs or
other “critters” ✓ also ideally suited for air-
conditioning units
separates fat molecules, like the sun
That's why we use UV light
then fat is no longer fat and oil no longer oil
That means the ducts stay clean!
Maximum effectiveness!
No other system combines all these benefits
11
• UV lamp cleaning expensive • Safety risk UV rays, as not an enclosed
construction • high level of maintenance and cleaning
expenditure
Here’s how we started
1999
UV lamp mounted directly to the hood
but today we know:
this method has decisive disadvantages
12
Only “closed” UV filters are safe filters
2003
up to today in large unit numbers in fast food chains
But:
The lamps have to be cleanedmanually
if forgotten: Problem !!
Closed construction - no longer a safety risk for employees!
13
Problem solved - now the filters are perfect
since 2012
Further development: ✓ Cleaning in the dishwasher
= Enormous relief for employees = Time and cost savings
✓ Closed, robust construction, ✓ Easy to operate ✓ For grill or deep fat fryer hoods
UV attachment module Type: Manox
14
One further highlight: the “Innox” universal filter
✓ Fits every duct, ✓ Fits on or to every exhaust hood ✓ “generates” any exhaust volume
through the connection of any number of additional modules in a row or parallel
Very easy to operate: ✓ Plug & Play ✓ The entire module can be
placed in the dishwasher ✓ Maintenance by way of
simple exchange without downtime
UV-C attachment module type “Manox” for fast food restaurants
UV-C Universal module Type Innox
for restaurants, hotels / university cafeterias and commercial kitchens

All together hereAir circulation system in combination with ozone catalyst / active carbon filter
16
Exhaust ducts no longer have to drip with fat
... over a deep fat fryer and a grill
This is how they look when fitted with purventus UV filters
After 4 months: absolutely no deposits
And after 12 months: The ducts are absolutely dry
17
Here, directly in the duct connections of a grill hood
depending on the performance requirements, can also be mounted next to each other as a dual setup
Possible applications of the “Manox”
Installation directly above a grill or deep fat fryer hood
thereafter: fat-free duct
A MUST for the following equipment - for example:
•Active carbon filter •Sensors (pressure, humidity, etc.) •Heat exchanger •Exhaust air fan
Example installation with lining for 1,500 cbm/h clean exhaust air Your benefit:
18
•Flange dimensions 500 x 300 mm
• can be installed in all duct sizes
•Control module can be installed anywhere
• the plug-in module including UV tubes as part of Plug&Play for cleaning in the dishwasher
Innox - Universal module: fits everywhere
Your benefit: 1,500 cbm/h clean exhaust air

positioned directly in the duct connections on the hood
Possible applications for Innox - Universal modules
Your benefit: ideal as a “pre-filter” for the following equipment, for example:
•Active carbon filter •Sensors (pressure, humidity etc.) •Heat exchanger •Exhaust air fan

Any exhaust air volume possible
General rule: 1,500 cbm/h = 1 UV module
The number of modules can be reduced when taking the size of the kitchen and the type of production into consideration
Example: Equipment for a university cafeteria / company canteen with approximately 10,000 cbm / exhaust air volume = investment of approx. EUR 27,000

For example: Investment and operating costs for a city centre restaurant, in a typical Business and apartment building with 5 storeys, pedestrian zone, inner courtyard with apartment balconies and roof terraces, open daily for 15 hrs, 10,000 cbm / h exhaust air:
EUR 25,954
Not allowed for: • Risk of non-approval by authorities • Fire risk, downtime risk • Hassle from the neighbours due to smell

“Great service, the UV filters from purventus have done a great job for us for years, no fat in the exhaust duct, no fire load”
“Due to odour problems, we have converted our exhaust system to air circulation with purventus. It works perfectly”
This is what satisfied customers have to say
Low ceilings, a large volume of fat and fire protection regulations present us with enormous challenges. With the purventus systems we fulfil all requirements”
“No way of connecting to the fat exhaust air system in the Euro-Passage. With the purventus air circulation system, it works without any issue”
“We used to have another UV system in place, which didn't work. Now, there is zero fat in the exhaust air system”
