WELCOME Hello and welcome to Castle Drive for today’s Pre Season friendly encounter between Kendal United Reserves and Cartmel and District Reserves The club would like to thank Cartmel for agreeing to what promises to be a difficult game. Both Teams have had an undefeated Pre Season, Kendal United First Team were comfortable 2-0 winners against Appleby before impressing with a 3-0 win away at Highgrove on Saturday. The Reserves have also done well. They battled the weather to defeat Arnside 6-2 on a very dark night in Kendal before winning 4-0 away at Dalton United Reserves the other night. Pre season is just that however it serves a purpose in that it gets the players fitness up and helps them prepare for the new season It is hard to believe that the season starts on Saturday 5 August, with

Kendal United’s first team now in The West Lancashire League they start their season earlier than the Reserves who won’t get going till midway through August. This season is very much a new experience, for the club, they are stepping into a league in which they are not familiar with. West Lancashire League Division Two will pose an interesting challenge, it will be good to see some new teams and face different challenges. Further in the match programme there will be brief reports from each of the friendlies while there will also be a fixture list for the new West Lancashire League Campaign. FIXTURES RELEASED:

Kendal United begin life in West Lancashire League Division Two with an away game at Euxton Villa Reserves with the season getting underway on Saturday 5 August. United then host Dalton United on Monday 7 August. The fixtures can be found later on in the programme.

FREE KIDS FUN FOOTBALL SESSIONS:

Kendal United are offering FREE football sessions for Girls and Boys. Ages 5 -9 years old (reception - year 4 ). All abilities from beginners to serious player's. Fully qualified CRB checked coaches will be running 6 sessions every Saturday starting 15 July 17 until 19 Aug 17. Sessions start 9:45 am until 11 am and will be held at Kendal United Clubhouse, Castle Drive, Kendal. You can attend one or alLof the sessions/ Please let friend and family know.

Kids should wear trainers or boots, shin pads, shorts or joggies and T Shirt. Bring a drink as well.

PRE SEASON REPORTS/DETAIL:

Kendal United 2 v Appleby 0:

Kendal United First Team opened their pre season campaign with a comfortable 2-0 home win against Appleby. Kendal have over the years found Appleby to be a difficult test and it was no surprise when the visitors came with a strong squad.

United controlled the game, with debutant Lee Mc Neill and Jordan Archer Nelson finding the net.

Highgrove 0 v Kendal United 3:

Another solid performance by the team who won 3-0 at Highgrove, Mark Barnes Davies scored a brace while Sam Hunter also scored.

Kendal United Reserve 6 v Arnside 2:

Kendal United Reserves battled the thunder, lightning and heavy rain to defeat Arnside 6-2.

Both Teams did well to play the game in the first place, while referee Curtis Wood did a great job in keeping the game going.

However Kendal United Reserves ended up winning 6-2, with braces by Matt Kennedy and Sam Hunter, while Brett Walker and Dale Atkinson were also on target.

Dalton United Reserve 0 v Kendal United Reserve 4:

The Reserves routed Dalton United Reserves, 4-0 in another good pre season workout.

Cameron Toal Lim found the net twice, while debutant Scott O Callaghan and Sam Hunter also got on the scoresheet.
