etc.

need to be addressed
v Specific issues such as salt loads need to be addressed.
Plan of Action: Short Term

v WISA or SAIWA can be used to get the message across to industries in the Upper
Vaal Water Management Area (UVWMA)
v Start an e-mail discussion group
v Get industrial stakeholders from UVWMA together
v Understand different industry specific strategies and look for synergies
v Share best practices through peer review processes
v Establish a base case for the industrial sector in the UVWMA
v Filter messages to the specific forums
Medium and long term planning will unfold after short term goals have
been realised
Part of long term strategy:
v Place pressure on the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry to finalise policies
which affect business decisions (e.g. use of polluted mine water for industrial use
etc)
v Encourage collaborative management between different sectors (e.g. mining and
industry)
