The sound of 15th August is magical, the daythe sub-continent gained its freedom from theBritish Raj. It is dedicated to every Indian andmarks the culmination of the supremesacrifices of our freedom fighters. This year,together with our great leaders, freedomfighters and soldiers, we also celebrate theCOVID warriors, who have been relentlesslyfighting the pandemic. Salutations to theheroes!!
The day was celebrated virtually by the VIDYABangalore team, with no less spirit in itsfestivities. The air was filled with the rhythmand tunes of patriotic hymns, speechesreflecting the precious nature ofindependence, PPt and movie on the historyof Independence and drawings on the topic of“Patriotism”.
Dr. Deepa Srivastava, Director-operations,encouraged the team to be free of negativityin these troubled times ; to stay organised &confident and make the best use of theavailable time.
@ VIDYA Shakti Ms Rekha Srinivasan CEOand Ms Jyoti Khareshared their positivethoughts and sent out astrong message ofmotivation to all. Theteachers participated inthe "Know Your India"quiz, and Ms Nagmanibagged the first prize,having the highestnumber of correctanswers.

Time to celebrate the Braveheart of VIDYA!!
When the world is trying to keep inside, beingout in the community, distributing essentials,nutrition kits, medicines, ppe kits and otherpersonal hygiene products is no cake walk.With relevant permissions from theauthorities, VIDYA COVID warriors did all theabove, bringing hope, cheer, smiles andawareness in many a lives.
The team was felicitated for the selflessservices and undying spirit to reach out tomore than 6000 needy beings.
@ Nellorpura Govt. SchoolOn September 5th - Teachers Day, an art sessionwas held where greeting cards were made for theteachers.
@ Avalahalli andSiddapura Govt SchoolIn the online celebrations,students showcased theirbeautiful drawings, sangsongs and gave heartfeltthanks to their teachers tomake them feel cherished.

Teacher’s day
A dreary Saturday evening, illuminated byAarushi and Peter of " Off the BeatenTrack - The Chronic Blue Circus "absolutely took the blues away throughtheir rendition of contemporary tales asmesmerizing music. The icing of the cake was the surpriseelement at the closing of the show, "weshall overcome " joined in by our Founderand President Mrs. Rashmi Misra.
Yet another webinar by VIDYA Knowledgeseries, threw light on all the aspects ofNEP. Dr. Vineet Joshi, Director General of NTA,brought to light the paradigm shift thathas occurred in the attitude of botheducators and students. Thanks toCOVID, online learning has become thenew normal, opening new vistas andmaking the world open to the largercanvas of aspects of education thatremained unexplored till now bytraditional educational patterns. Thesession was very ably moderated by Prof.Ashok Misra.

Ms. Prarthana and Ms. Rekha elaborated thesupport system available with organizationslike Bembla. Details of PEDVA, the law thatoffers all possible protection and options towomen to overcome the violence, was shared.The session also brought awareness andguidelines on how the teachers of VIDYA canhandle, perceive, support, stand and be with thevictim and make her feel that " She is notalone."

Extending COVID relief solidarity to a largergeographical canvas through distribution ofbiscuits and tea bags in the communities, to thehomeless and to old age homes Asha Jeevan &Holy Spirit.
Masks were distributed to schoolchildren to facilitate them to attendVidyagama classes initiated by the govtand taken forward by the VIDYA teachers;also to collect & submit worksheetsbeing given by VIDYA twice a week forkeeping them in touch with learning.

Reaching out and reaching beyond the VIDYAbeneficiaries, with Nutrition kits, essential kits,PPE kits, Medicines , Sanitizer Stands,Sanitizers and N95 Masks.Support provided with nutrition kits to 1500migrants travelling to Bihar by Sangha Mitraexpress.
VIDYA Teachers regularly call students toenquire about their welfare andencourage them to remain positive;guiding them accordingly. Ourcounsellors continue to counsel studentswho require more support.

Counseling for mental well being
Vidyagama, initiated by the Education Department ofKarnataka is a continuous learning plan thatpromotes self-learning amongst school children.Children are guided to continue their self-learning athome, making use of the learning materials provided.Teachers hold classes in community centres,religious places, under the shade of any big tree,appropriately following the norms of socialdistancing strictly.

The parents of our studentsappreciated VIDYA teachers for all theirefforts. They were glad that theirchildren were able to learn everydaythrough online classes and expressedtheir gratitude for the personalizedattention that the children were getting.It was a humbling experience indeed, asit validated all our efforts to keep theteaching-learning going on, despitefacing challenges on a day to day basis.

On that note, we are happy and proud of our VIDYA Vastra students forcompleting their Singer Diploma Certification exam with flying colors..
Results of NIOS students who appeared for exams in April were announced.They made us proud by achieving percentages of 76.4, 75.6, 63.6, 59.4.....
NIIT Certificates received by our students on successful completion of the course.

Total of 39 students cleared various courses....Completed basic computers with highest of 98%,Cleared Java and Web designing with highest of 94%
