IIBA CERTIFICATION – CRITERIA (1/2)
• ECBA™, CCBA® ,and CBAP® Handbooks! (most September
2016).
• http://www.iiba.org/certification-handbook/index.htm.
• Always check for updates.
• ECBA® Certification.
• See general requirements in next slide.
• CCBA® Certification.
• Work experience (3750 hours of BA work experience aligned with
BABOK® Guide in the last 7 years; minimum 900 hours in 2 of the 6
knowledge areas or 500 hours in 4 of the 6 knowledge areas ).

IIBA CERTIFICATION – CRITERIA (2/2)
• CBAP® Certification.
• Work experience (7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with
BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years; minimum 900 hours in 4 of the 6
knowledge areas).
• General Requirements.
• Professional development (21 hours in last 4 years) for ECBA and
CCBA.
• Professional development (35 hours in last 4 years) for CBAP.
• 2 references required (career manager, client or CBAP® recipient) for
CBAP and CCBA.
• Agree to the Code of Conduct according to the certification
requested.

• Do not need to be IIBA member (although it makes some things
cheaper)
• Apply on-line
• Pay attention to which activities are BA-related and aligned with the
BABOK® Guide (More info in next slides)
• You can save and come back, take your time
• May be audited to verify/validate work experience
• Response after payment is submitted

IIBA CERTIFICATION – EXAM
• Once approved, have 1 year to write exam
• Study using whichever approach suits you, but based on
BABOK® Guide
• When ready (and you’ve paid), schedule to write CBT exam at
designated location - 1 location in Vancouver (downtown at
Ashton College)

CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
• Covers application and examination fee
• People who are not eligible for employer reimbursement
• Must pass exam before can apply
• Must be Int’l and Chapter member
• Annual, apply by October 31

Study Sessions by the IIBA Vancouver Chapter
• First session on January 2017
• Sessions will be once a month until June 2017
• Lead by new VP of Professional Development with multiple CBAPs or CCBAs as facilitators
• Each session is valid for ~ 3 PDs
• Venue• BC Liquor Distribution Branch
