In September of 2011, a report from the U.S. Census Bureau announced that the official poverty rate in the U.S. had risen to 15.1 percent of the population, representing approximately 46 million people, more than 1/3 (over 15 million) are children.

Help Wanted bulletin board

Pockets with teacher names & room numbers. Projects, jobs, and volunteer tasks needed/available within each classroom.

All staff provide information. Ashley Clark and Ashley Morgan to head up the bulletin board.

Initially for Open House & then throughout the year.

Parent Involvement Team Task List

A list of ideas for teachers to use when requesting volunteers. Included in this list will be suggestions for tasks, jobs, and hours.

Parent Involvement Team Completed by 6/18/10 and Re-distributed by 8/2/10

Volunteer Day Having a set day once a month (for example: 3rd Wednesday of every month) and ask parents to come volunteer that day.

Parent Involvement Team Present it at the opening staff meeting & implement starting in September.
