How much time do you spend training?  “Well, usually I train 3 times a week for one hour or one hour and a half, it depends on the days.” Have you ever had an injury? “No, I mean not when I was doing judo.” Have people help you to reach your goal? And how did they do it? “Yes, my brothers and my judo master motivated me to do my best and they believed in me everyday.” Have you ever felt like living up? And if so, what kept you going?  “Yes, last year I felt like giving up because I thought that I couldn’t practise this sport very well and I was demotivated but my mum persuaded me to continue because she believed that it was just a moment of crisis. Now, thanks to my  parents, I continue practi sing judo and I love it more and more everyday!”  What advice would you give to anyone interested in taking up judo? “I think that everyone should try this sport because it helps you growing up, I mean both physically and psychologically because you have to cope with hard work everyday. There are many other good reasons for choosing judo for example you have the possibility of making new friends and why don’t try an unusual sport? Nowadays every young boy  practise football or bas ket and the girl choose s ports like dancing or voll eyball, let’s make a change! Everybody should try judo, my brother started doing it and now all my family love this sport. I guarantee, it’s a beautiful sport!”

“I started horse riding 4 years ago, when I was 10” 

How didi you get into your sport?

“I started by following my sister” 

What do you like most about your sport?

“I like taking care of my horse” 

How much time do you spend training?

“ About 3 hourse a week”  

Have you ever had an injury?

“I fell off many times but I’ve never get seriously injuried.” 

Have people helpe you to reach your goal and how?

“Yes, many people helped me, in particulary I can’t go racing without my coach next to me. And, nevertheless, I think 

my horse, whose name is Trust De L’orge, helped me too.” 

Have you ever felt like living up. And if so, what kept you going? 

“Yes, 3 years ago I felt while I was jumping on hurdles, I get get scared so I decided not to go horse riding any more.

But I liked it too much, so I started again”.

What advice would you give to anyone interested in taking up horse riding?

“If you begin, you must start slowly and always listen to your coach.”

How did you get into your sport?

“My friends played basketball so I decided to try too”.

What age did you start playing basketball?

“I started when I was 7 years old” 

So you play basketball since you were 7, it’s a long time. What did you help not giving up?

“I never gave up because I love this sport and I am really determined” 

What do you like most of basketball?

“I think that basketball is a very challenging sport and I like challenge with others. Also I can meet new people and visit 

other places because I have to travel a lot” 

What are the main drawbacks of playing basketball on an agonistic level?

“I have to train a lot and sometimes it can be stressful as I have to study for school” 

How much time do you spend training?

“I train 3 times a week for 2 hours, on Monday, Thursday and Friday and I have a match on Sunday, sometimes on

Wednesday” 

So we’ve said that you play basketball for a long time. Have you ever had a serious injury?

“No, I haven’t had a serious one. Luckily I’ve had only light ones” 

Do you think that is because you were lucky or because you were on a good shape?

“I think because I was on a good shape but also as I was quite luckily. I mean, you can avoid injuries training your body,

but if someone hit you and you have an injury it’s only misfortune” 

What is your goal in your sport?

“I have only a goal: become a good player” 

Do you think that you have reached your goal?

“Yes, I think so but I know that I can improve myself, there are a lot of basketball players better than me!” 

Have people helped you in reaching your goal?

“I think that I did all by myself with my determination. Becoming a good player is very hard but I’m determined and I

will do that!”

“I started playing tennis when I was 12 years old.” 

How did you get into your sport?

“I tried to play with a coach once and I liked it immediately. So I decided to stop playing football and to begin to play 

tennis” 

What do you like most about your sport?

“I like playing it because it’s exciting and competitive.” 

How much time do you spend training? “I play 4 hours a week because I have matches every the weekend”.

Have you ever had a serious injury?

“No, fortunately I have never had a serious injury”.

How did you feel when you were representing your country?

“I have never represented my country abroad”.

Have people helped you to reach your goal and how?

“My coach and my friends helped me to reach my goal, they supported me and they gave me lo of encouragement”.

Have you ever felt like giving up, and if so, what kept you doing?

“I have never felt like giving up because I like it too much”.

What advice would you give to anyone interested in taking up tennis?

“If someone liked tennis, he should try one lesson and listen to the advice of the coach, then he could decide if he want 

to continue or stop immediately. Anyway, you need to be very fast, have quick reflexes and not be indolent”.

What age did you start your sport?

“I started skating at the age of 4” 

How did you get into your sport?

“My parents saw an advertisement and they decided to let me join a skating club. So I started this experience and I

immediately like it” 

What do you like most about your sport?

“If you skate, you must travel a lot in order to participate into races, so I like meeting new people that love skating

too” 

How much time do you spend training?

“I spend two to three hours every day, except of weekends, because I need to have a break” 

Have you ever had a serious injury?

“Fortunately I have never had a serious injury , but I sometimes fall down during races” 

How did you feel when you were representing your country?

“Last year I went to Skating World Championship Colombia. I felt very honoured but also very moved and a bit nervous,

because I was presenting Italy and I had a big responsibility” 

Have people helped you to reach your goal and how?

“I needed the support of a lot of people to reach my goals. For example, my parents are very important, because they 

always motivate me and give a reason to skate”  

Have you ever felt like giving up, and if so, what kept you doing?

“When I was younger I thought to stop skating many times but thanks to my parents I always decided not to give up” 

What advice would you give to anyone interested in taking up skating?

“If you want to try skating you should join your local club and follow the instructions of your trainer. At the beginning

you won’t be very good but with some years of training you will get better. Everyone can practice this fantastic sport 

because all you need is a pair of skates”

Andrea: “I started playing football when I was seven years old”  

Giovanni: “I started playing football when I was six years old” 

How did you get into your sport?

Andrea: “When I was at primary school, a lot of my friends played football, so I decided to try this sport. I liked it and I

decided to pracise it definitely.”  

Giovanni: “I really liked watching football matches on TV and the more I watched them, the more I wanted to try 

 football. So I decided to play this exciting sport that I still play now.” 

What do you like most about your sport?

Andrea: “What I like most about football is staying with my teammates and playing matches. I find it very exciting” 

Giovanni: “ I love playing matches and tournaments. However, what I most like about football is staying with my 

teammates, who are also fiends” 

How much time do you spend training?

Andrea: “I spend about four hours a week training” 

Giovanni: “I spend about four or five hours a week training” 

Have you ever had an injury?

Andrea: “I have never had serious injuries” 

Giovanni: “I have never had serious injuries, but I had ankles problems. Luckily, I didn’t need an operation.” 

Have people helped you to reach your goal and how?

Andrea: “ I needed the support of my teammates, my family and my coach to help me reach my goals in football. My 

 parents were very important and I’m grateful to them”  

Giovanni: “I needed the support of a lot of people to reach my goal, but I’m particular thankful to my parents because

they have helped me in many situations”

How did you feel when you were representing your country?

E.G.: “I’ve never represented my country”.

R.V.: “I’ve never represented my country”.

Have people helped you to reach your goal an how?

E.G.: “My father and coach Vicenzi helped me to improve my football techniques”.

R.V.: “My father helped me a lot. I’m also very grateful to coach Vicenzi and my sister that supported me with

training”.

Have you ever felt like giving up and, if so, what kept you going?

E.G.: “Four years ago I felt like giving up with football: in fact, I was disappointed with the team because everything

went wrong, but my father and coach Vicenzi insisted on me keeping om playing football”.

R.V.: “Three years ago we were playing a match and if we had won we could have arrived at the first place. However,

we drew: we were winning but our goalkeeper made a horrible mistake. I continued playing football to improve my 

technique”.

What advice would you give to anyone interested in taking up football?

E.G.:” Football, fist of all, is a game: before playing for victory, you have to amuse youself and football is very exciting.

You don’t have to give up only decause of a defeat.” 

R.V.: “Football is a very amusing sport. You can improve your technique and you learn to stay with other people”.
