July 28, 2019 Youth Camp Volunteers: “Thank You!” I had the privilege to accompany forty-eight campers to our Youth Camp in Milboro, Virginia, along with the Loyal Knight of Arlington-Fairfax 2188, Larry Fisher! What occurred to me about this experience, from arrival at our Lodge early in the morning, unl Larry and I witnessed the camp geng the boys quickly seled, was the amount of genuine devoon of everyone involved, to idenfy, register, deliver, feed, and entertain our campers! So, let the “Thank Yous!” proceed! What do we say to: The Lodge volunteers from Alexandria, Arlington-Fairfax, Front Royal, Loudoun, and Winchester, who employ contacts with schools and other community organizaons to idenfy kids unlikely to have a summer-vacaon opportunity, such as this!! AND, who ensure needed clearances and idenfying informaon is recorded, medicaons are made available and clearly labeled, and all crical needs are met before the kids are sent to camp. AND, who are there bright and early on a summer Sunday morning at mulple sites to ensure the kids are present, with everything they need, and that they and their things are secured on the right bus!
