OEM Shop Floor Program

OEM Programs vary in complexity

Simple

- Some OEM Shop Floor Programs simply invoke the VCP

and pass it a pre-generated parameter file.

Complex

- Other OEM Shop Floor Programs are tied in to order entry

system through data bases and generate unique parameter

files based on a customers order.

VCP Configuration

• Cummins VCP is configured using a control panel applet.

• This allows users to customize how the Cummins VCP works in their environment.

Data Integrity Cummins VCP ensures all the data in the parameter file

passes following requirements:

�Data Format- Ensures the format of the parameter record is valid

� Range Testing- Ensures the data is within a valid range- Ex: Max Road Speed is between 30 - 120 MPH

� Security- Ensures that correct Master Passwords/ OEM Passwords are provided

�Configuration- Ensures parameters do not cause / indicate conflicting operation- Ex: Cruise auto-resume enabled but cruise control was not enabled

�Feature Availability- Ensures the ECM supports the parameter before it is enabled
