MANAGING VEHICLE PRODUCTIVITY

Results

9 Modern, adaptable technology

9 Small footprint

9 Scalability and adaptability

9 Growth potential

9 Reliability

9 Improved operational insight and informed decision-making

9 Improved operational efficiency

These results are possible because there is no land-based infrastructure or civil works required on the ground. Minimal engineering is required to configure and adapt the solution to particular client needs.

OUR SOLUTIONSWe offer a unique, low-cost, satellite-based solution that provides 24x7 monitoring of your entire fleet, with performance reposts available on demand.

A mobile unit is attached to the vehicle to transmit relevant event-based information to a remote base station.

The unit are also capable of peer-to-peer communication, so that pertinent loading and unloading information can also be accessed and transmitted.

All information can feasibility be integrated with your manufacturing execution system (MES) or ERP using standard interfaces.

Capabilities and benefits:

• Relatively inexpensive compared to comparative solutions.

• Completely autonomous data recording

• Satellite-based communication

• Reliable Hardware – used by US Military

• Easy to deploy to additional assets

• On-board data processing and data buffering

• Communication with units in proximity via Satellite/GSM/Wi-Fi/Radio

• Bi-Directional communication with base station via satellite

• Rechargeable batteries – equipment protection – always on

• Event driven – limiting satellite bandwidth usage

• Message encoding – single message to cover multiple events

• Information automatically captured into Production Management Solution (MES) database

• Adaptable and Configurable – can be expanded to include a full fledged Fleet Management and/or Vehicle Condition Monitoring solutions.

INTRODUCTIONEffectively moving materials such as ore, fuel or goods in an operation is fundamental to profitability.

In many operations this is accomplished by using haul trucks or other vehicles.

There are several factors that impact how effectively material is being moved from source to destination:

• Vehicles take too long to deliver their haul. Delivery time fluctuate, and are unpredictable

• There is uncertainty about load factors, hence the cost per load varies

• Lack of information available to assess efficiencies, and other factors such as operations actions

Systems that purport to support effective vehicle managing are plagued by additional challenges:

• Data communication issues with existing fleet-management system

• Manual input required from various parties

• Current system require Wi-Fi/GSM communication - connectivity not always available

• Land-based infrastructure is expensive and unreliable at times

• Equipment has to function in harsh environments

In order for operations personnel to be able to provide accurate information such as overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on the performance of their fleet it is necessary to measure the performance of assets autonomously, without any manual input required from the operator.

Information obtained from mobile equipment should be integrated with scorecard/performance reports in the existing Production Management Solution to achieve the required benefits.

The ideal systemFinancial and time investment in OEE systems as a minimum should deliver:

9 Cost-effective and add measurable value.

9 Fully autonomous data recording.

9 Reliable hardware and data transmission.

9 Scalability to include more vehicles.

9 On-board data storage.

9 Detect proximity to other mobile units for processing of loading/tipping data.

9 Autonomous operator-action detection

9 Implementation should be simple.

9 Infrastructure independence

9 Bi-directional communication between mobile units and base-station.

9 Adaptability and configurability to allow changes to the solution without major expense.

9 Data collection for OEE / Scorecard / Performance Reporting and identification of bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the process.

We’ve solved the challenges - ask us how!

OUR HANDS-OFF SATELLITE SOLUTION

We use military-specification satellite communication modules to assure robust and reliable data transmission at all times.

Data recording is event-based. This means that only relevant data is transmitted when required - unnecessary data transmission and cost are eliminated.

The flexibility of our solution means that we are able to adapt functionality to match your specific requirements./
