Program fraud

What is fraud?

Fraud is the intentional or unintentional misuse of the WIC program. Fraud can be committed by

vendors, participants and staff.

How do I report fraud?

By submitting a Fraud & Abuse Report. The form, and information on how to submit can be found on our website: https://idph.iowa.gov/wic/

resources.

What should I do if I suspect fraud, but I’m not sure?

Report it anyway! We do all of the investigating

and will determine if fraud is taking place or not.

Can I submit anonymously?

When submitting the Fraud & Abuse form, you will be required to provide your name and email address; however, we do not share this infor-

mation with anyone!

How can I report possible fraud?

Complete the Fraud & Abuse form; you may submit it via fax, e-mail, or by mail. If you have any questions, please contact Todd Erskine at

Farmers Market 2019

How does WIC partner with the farmers market?

Iowa WIC participants are automatically eligible to participate in

the Iowa Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). Beginning

June 1st, 2019 WIC participants who opt to participate in FMNP will receive special FMNP vouchers. These vouchers

(shown above) are to ONLY be accepted at designated farmers

market locations, NOT at grocery stores.

Will they still be able to shop produce in my store?

Yes! WIC participants receiving FMNP checks will also be re-

ceiving their regular fruits and vegetables benefits from WIC, to

be redeemed in grocery stores.

I also run a stand at the farmers market, how can I sign up to

accept FMNP vouchers?

The Farmers Market Nutrition Program is separate from WIC.

We do not handle the payment of the vouchers, or the registra-

tion for farmers market vendors. If you are interested in partner-

ing with FMNP, please contact Paul Ovrom, the FMNP Program

Planner, for more information. He can be reached by phone at 515-242-6239.

FIS Helpdesk (for stand beside vendors)

If you are having trouble with your machine or have any payment related questions, you will need

to call the FIS Help Desk phone number located on the front of your POS.

1-844-234-4949

When you call, the automated system will prompt you for your WIC Vendor ID. This is the five digit

number (##-###) assigned to your store by WIC.

Once you enter a valid WIC Vendor ID, you will be transferred to a customer service representative. He/she

will ask you for a Location ID/Terminal ID. This number can be found on the front of your POS device.
