The Venus key club is filled
with nothing but hard working
dedicated students. These
students are the reason we
came from the bottom of
nothing to being in the top five
out of all Texas and Oklahoma
key clubs, the dedication and
time each student put in has
helped and each student has
done their part to push the
club to bigger and better
things in our future. Each day
extraordinary members will
push the limits to help, no
matter what the situation is a
key club member is always
there to help do anything that
they can. I don’t want
it to seem like I’m
bragging but the
people in this club are
truly amazing and have
wonderful hearts. We
are the kids that don't
mind taking time out of
a Saturday to go and
clean or help, why is
that you ask? It’s
because we are the
Venus key club and
we’re ready to serve.

SERVICE THIS WAY!
Venus key club takes their time
serving at the No turning back food
pantry; we spend a lot of the time
making boxes to give out to those
who are less fortunate, but we do it
with a smile on our face and warm
feelings in our hearts. The Venus key
club members work on all kinds of
service projects to help not just the
community but the world.
For those of you who don’t know, my name
is Beth Humphus and I am the founder of No
Turning Back Ministry, and I run No Turning Back
Food Pantry and clothes closet. I would like to
take this time to thank everyone who comes every
Thursday to help at our food pantry. Without you
guys, our food pantry wouldn’t be what it is now.
With your help we are able to feed over 100
families every month. You guys diligently come
every Thursday and work for 3+ hours without
ever complaining, you make the boxes, carry
them out and you clean up at the end of the day.
You organize the clothes closet like nothing I have
ever seen before without complaint (which is a
testament in itself, because those clothes are
pretty bad sometimes). Since our opening almost
2 years ago, our numbers have increased
significantly and it is because of what you guys do
every week. I just wanted to let you know that
what you do does not go unnoticed and it is much
appreciated! Thank you so much for all of your
hard work and I am so proud of all of you and
what you do! See you Thursday!

District Convention!
District Convention was a blast!
You meet so many new people;
also have a little compotation
fun. We show up dress up and
learn about all new things we can
do to help our club grow, little by
little it really works! This year we
had two seniors go with us to
dcon, Haley Humphus and Travis
Ewton now I’m going to let them
tell you about their experience at
dcon.
It was really amazing attending DCON
for the first time. It was a ton of fun and
after hearing our club get recognized for
the great things we have done, I realized
how much work and effort we have all
put in. We should be very proud of eve-
rything we have accomplished in the four
years our club has been in existence.
-Haley Humphus
I had an amazing time hanging
out with my fellow Key Clubbers.
I bonded with pretty much
everyone that went. From “Boo
Boo Bunnies” to “# the struggle
is real” it was really outstand-
ing!
-Travis Ewton

New Officers!
Each year the club will elect a new board of officers,
the candidates have to write a speech and present it
and be questioned by the club members. After it all
the Key Club Advisor tallies the votes and those who
win will be your new club board member! Down below
I had each board member write a little about
themselves so let’s get on with it shall we?

Hello, I am Jazmin Escamilla your Key Club President! I am
honored to serve you all this 2012-2013 service year. Key
Club has made such an impact in my life and I am so glad that
I have the opportunity to give back to you all as your leader.
If it were not for Key Club I don't know who I would be! I will
forever cherish the memories that I have obtained through
this amazing organization. We have accomplished so much
this past service year and I would like to thank everybody who
has dedicated their time. Everything our club has accom-
plished would not be possible without your hours of service
and commitment. Our expectations are even higher this year
and I know we can accomplish our goals with your dedication!
Thank you and I look forward to serving you all.
Hey I’m Benilda Roca I’m this years
web master, Key Club has impacted
me because I started doing things I
never thought I would be doing! For
example I never thought I would
spend my own Thursday afternoon
working till 7 in a food pantry!

New Officers!
Hey! I am Sabre Nester, and I am this year’s Venus Key Club
Secretary! It is truly an honor to be able to serve this club in such
a profound way; I undoubtedly will try my hardest to serve this
club as best as I can, and even better than that. In the short time
that I have been a Key Club member I have learned so much, and
would like to learn SO much more in my year as Secretary. I am
truly grateful for the tremendous effect Key Club has made in my
life, and I am looking forward to serving this year as Venus Key
Club Secretary.
Hello I’m Enriqueta and I am honored to be Vice President of this
extraordinary club. Key Club has changed our school perspective and also other school perspective as well. Venus High School Key
Club has improved over the years and impacted a bunch of young adults, students and mostly our community. Key Club has impacted me thought the year and has start to lead me on path of
success. I learn to use my time more wisely and carefully. I began to learn new things everyday about Key Club and I enjoy it.
Spending hours knowing that doing this one simple thing could mean or change others life. What we do for our communities today could save the world tomorrow. We all want to touch the
world and make a difference; it all starts here, right now with Key Club International. Key club to me is not just community service,
its responsibility, and leadership. I began to understand that more and more every day. We are the leaders of our generations and generations to come.
Hey I’m Jeremy Roca
Venus Key Club Treas-
urer, I believe that get-
ting 3rd at Dcon is a
really big step for our
club. I enjoy Key Club,
it is one of the most fun
things I have done all
year.
