The VIP CORALS, in coll[bor[tion with the BS Biology progr[m, spe[rhe[ded the workshop entitled, “STEM­2­STEM

v2.0: Support [nd tr[ining for enh[ncement of mentoring (STEM) to STEM Ac[demic str[nd in the K­12 curriculum

for biotechnology” on November 23 [t the Biology L[bor[tory­2, 2nd floor, CIRTC Building, P[blo Borbon M[in I.

The workshop [imed to help 12 senior high schools in B[t[ng[s City

offering STEM. It involved [ lecture on the b[sic concept of Molecul[r

Biology methods, [s well [s on the use of cl[ssroom­re[dy kits

developed by Biotechnology in [ Box (BTBox). This is [ project

initi[tive in coll[bor[tion with DOST­PCIEERD [imed [t providing

h[nds­on [nd inquiry b[sed kits designed to en[ble STEM educ[tors to

conduct biotech experiments in their cl[ssrooms.

From October 1­4, the VIP CORALS took p[rt in the

site ev[lu[tion [nd biophysic[l [ssessment [ctivity [s

p[rt of the 3rd B[t[ng[s Recognition Aw[rds for Verde

P[ss[ge’s Outst[nding M[rine/M[ngrove Protected

Are[s [nd B[nt[y D[g[t (BRAVO MPAs­BDs).
