The Voyager Elite legend rangeoffers a choice of three viewingdistances 30, 20 or 10 m.

The whole portfolio is availablein a choice of white or metallicsilver; the surface of the curvedbody is lightly textured.

One design throughout the whole building provides all thesafety you need in times ofemergency. Voyager Eliteefficiently provides you withample light in open space areasto dispel feelings of panic andguide you to the exits.

In times of emergency it isimportant for people to be able to see the way out and toensure that fire fighting andsafety equipment can be easilylocated and used.

Let us for example have a look at a corridor of a hotel building.Changes in level and direction,each door intended to be used inan emergency, emergency exitsand safety signs, each intersectionof the corridor itself, the first aidposts, fire fighting equipment andfire alarm call points, the areaoutside the final exit door: all ofthese areas and many more haveto be considered when planningthe emergency lighting.

Foyers are a typical example of an open space. During anemergency or even only a shortmains failure all the people in thefoyer must feel safe. If there is a need to evacuate the building,everyone must be guided safelyby the shortest possible route to the nearest exit.

How to use Voyager Elite:For open space areas in abuilding use the bulkhead versionVoyager Elite for providing anti-panic lighting. Alternatively if aroom is fitted with a suspendedceiling you can use the semi-recessed version – Voyager Elite R,or the recessed diffuser versionVoyager Elite ID, providing a sleekintegrated look into the ceiling.

How to use Voyager Elite:For escape route signage werecommend using the exit signblade versions of Voyager Eliteeither the surface mountedVoyager Elite X, the semi-recessedVoyager Elite XR or the recessedVoyager Elite IDX, all of themincorporating an additionaldiffuser to suit your requirements.

Alternatively take the recessedVoyager IX and the exit signVoyager Elite SX, suspended witheither wires or rods. If you needa wall mounted exit sign chooseVoyager Elite SX together withcantilever brackets.

For illumination use the diffuserversions of Voyager Elite, either the surface mountedVoyager Elite, the semi-recessedVoyager Elite R, or the recessedVoyager Elite ID, each providinga comfortable light.

For the area outside the final exitdoor the bulkhead Voyager Eliteprovides an excellent solutiondue to its IP65 protection.

For directing people along theescape route simply take thematching exit sign versionsVoyager Elite X, Voyager Elite XRor Voyager Elite IDX. If youwould prefer a hanging exit signchose Voyager Elite SX.

The product design of the VoyagerElite family is based on a simpleoval shape. This provides aunique alternative to the traditionalrectangular emergency lighting in today’s market.

The design detail, which runsthrough the entire Voyager Eliterange, presents an aestheticbenefit; hence you will find theellipsoidal shape of the bulkheadreflected in the endcaps of thehanging exit sign.

Excellent opticalperformance

This means that for a typicalcorridor (2m wide and 3m high)luminaires are spaced at 9.6 m, if you use the basicemergency version of VoyagerElite or Voyager Elite X, and at10.9 m if you use a SelfTest or addressable test version. Only two luminaires are neededfor a typical 19m corridor,saving you the installation costsof two extra luminaires comparedto using a lower performanceluminaire. This represents anoverall cost saving of 50% –materials and labour.

Just like fire protection systems,emergency lighting is potentiallylife saving but worthless andhazardous if the equipment is not properly maintained. As aconsequence there are increasinglystringent legal requirements toregularly inspect, test and maintainemergency lighting in workplacesor public buildings.

Explorer, the Thorn LightingEmergency Test product range,provides automated testing of emergency luminaires that isfully compliant with EuropeanStandards. This offers completepeace of mind and safety withoutthe need for costly and timeconsuming manual testing by acompetent person, which isrequired for the basic emergencyrange version of Voyager Elite.Explorer has been designed withthree options to suit varyingrequirements and budgets.

Explorer SelfTestSelfTest has an integral diagnosticmicroprocessor contained withinan emergency luminaire, e.g.Voyager Elite. A bi-colour LEDintegrated in the luminaireindicates status as it monitors andautomatically tests its emergencyfunctions at intervals compliantwith legislation. Easy to installand requiring no additionalcabling, Explorer SelfTest provides simple and reliable standaloneautomatic testing, eliminating theneed for costly manual testing by a competent person.

Explorer ProjectAn addressable testing system, providing fully automaticmonitoring, testing and faultlogging for emergency luminarieslike Voyager Elite, using theExplorer Project XP128 Controller.Explorer Project’s addressable faultreporting capabilities eliminatethe need for visual inspection.This offers a highly convenientand fully programmable solutionthat is ideal for small and medium sized projects of up to128 luminaires (or when usingExplorer Project XPX64 Extenders,up to 256 luminaires can becontrolled). The system works byperiodically and automaticallytesting the emergency luminairesfor working efficiency. The testsare centrally recorded and anyfaults are logged. These can thenbe printed (using the handheldExplorer Project XPPRI Printer) or,if the optional Explorer ProjectXPGSM module is installed, faultscan also be reported via an SMStext message to a mobile phone.Fault reports identify the luminaireconcerned and the type of fault(lamp, battery or emergencyinterface), allowing swift locationand repair.

Explorer VisionA programmable addressabletesting system for emergencylighting, which allows tests to berun automatically or manuallyusing a central PC with monitoringsoftware.
