The purpose of this School Management Team manual…

How and when to use this document…

Following on from the Foundation DDD Dashboard user manual, this SMT manual seeks to:

1. Build on the core skills that you possess on the Dashboard

2. Help you ask and answer role-specific questions on the Dashboard and with the use of its reports

Welcome to the DDD Dashboard Manual for Principals and HODs

1 2

This user manual can and should be used in two situations:

1. When receiving SMT Principal and HOD Dashboard training (using it as a workbook and reference guide in the training session)

2. When using the Dashboard as part of your role / when you need assistance in finding certain data for your school or subject

While this manual aims to equip you to ask certain questions of your school’s and subject’s data on the Dashboard, it is advised that you still make use of the Foundation DDD Dashboard User Manual

to refresh your knowledge of the Dashboard’s functionality

Dashboard reports most relevant for SMTsThere are a number of downloadable reports on the Dashboard that can assist Principals and HODs in answering key questions in their schools

Report Description of the report Why you should use it

Offline Report

PDF reports containing all data on the current view in

the School, Subject or Grade. The report is very

detailed and is essentially a print-out of the

Dashboard for your school

It is a complete and convenient report

to have on you for meetings where

there may not be a reliable internet

connection

Principals Dashboard

Report

Excel report produced for each grade showing the

number of learners achieving at the different

achievement levels (1 to 7) for all subjects’ quarterly /

common tests

You can see how a subject is performing

in each grade and analyse which

subjects have the highest percentage of

poorly performing learners

2

Learner Chart ReportExcel reports showing the SBA achievement across

achievement levels (1 to 7) for all learners in a grade

The report will help you identify

learners at risk in terms of SBA

performance

3

Learners to

Educators Ratio

PDF reports showing learner to educator ratios for all

subjects and grades in a school

You will be able to evaluate which

subjects require more educators and

also measure the quality of the school’s

data (i.e. educators not assigned)
