Our veterinary assistant training offers a quality education covering the behavior, care, and treatment of animals. Veterinary assistants work on the animal care team under the supervision of a veterinary technician and a veterinarian. Gain a working knowledge of veterinary anatomy, medical terminology, veterinary office administrative skills, animal care and handling, veterinary pharmacology, veterinary clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and working effectively on a team. In your second and third semester, you’ll have 300 hours of a clinical internship in a local veterinarian’s office. This program offers a 300 hour internship experience. To build a bridge from school to work, Career Services coor- dinates and implements internships, an integral part of each program that provides students with invaluable work experience in their fields. During internships, students apply skills learned in school to employment settings, and, importantly, they begin to cultivate professional networks and acquire references as they start their careers. Our veterinary assistant training offers a quality education covering the behavior, care, and treatment of animals. Veterinary assistants work on the animal care team under the supervision of a veterinary technician and a veterinarian.
